  1. This really just sounds like a Knight vs Samurai contest where in the end, the weapons and equipment don't matter, only the individuals skill and creativity. An actual victor could only genuinely be found if you put limitations on the contest, such as no force powers/surge bindings, only bladework. in this situation, I would say that a Radiant would most likely be the victor, since their shardplate would give them greater strength, speed and agility, and their shardblade adds extensive reach to the equation. If you then allowed a Jedi to use the force, only for physical, and mental enhancement(still nothing external), then I would give it to the Jedi, as they are able to use the force to predict incoming blows, and plan around them, similar to using atium from Mistborn, which is nearly(although not entirely) impossible to outplay. By the time you add all other external powers and surges to the two contestants, it becomes impossible to draw an accurate conclusion, and will be entirely situational. As for whether or not a lightsaber would be able to directly block a shardblade: yes and no. While it is true that a shardblade can cut through any nonliving matter, and a lightsaber is nonliving matter, this can only be said of the Shardblade's edge, not the entire blade. If a Jedi were to parry a Radiant's stroke, rather than stop it directly, then there will be very little issue, although it would limit your possible reactions to any given attack. In any case, it would make for a very entertaining confrontation, that I would love to see in a Deathbattle one day.
  2. I always just thought that Fabrials were really just a way of channeling surges for those without a Nahel bond, similar to a staff in Skyrim, where no innate ability is needed in order to use it, merely filled soul gems/spren trapped inside the gemstone. In this way, I don't believe that Fabrials are the third type of magic, merely a different method of using an existing magic system.
  3. I think that Bondsmiths are meant to act as liaisons between people and spren. I believe it is through their work that more and more spren agree to form Nahel bonds with potential Radiants. It's been mentioned that there are never very many of them at at any given time, and it has been theorized by some that there are never more than three, each one bonding to Cultivation, Honor, or Odium. This never made much sense to me however as a Bondsmith of Odium would for all intents and purposes be trying to destroy the other two, however if this was the case it makes me wonder if there was a faction that served Odium in the past. I think it would be interesting if Cultivation, Honor, and Odium actually competed with each other by trying to convince spren to bond to their chosen Radiants. Would make for an great chapter in history with a lot of infighting, casting a darker light on what has so far been considered a nearly perfect order, that just suddenly fell apart for no apparent reason. I don't really think that a Bondsmith would have the ability to break a Nahel bond considering their power is Adhesion. There are other groups who can such as Dustbringers and Skybreakers who have Division, and I think that the Skybreakers would happen to fit this role perfectly due to their lawful nature.
  4. What if Jasnah was defending the wall when the Thunderclast broke through, and so she fell to the ground on the outside of the wall. it would take her some time to recover from a fall like that which is why the Thunderclast would be so far away, and also explain the staircase: she's trying to get back on top of the wall. Until the wall is reconstructed, the spearmen are forming a sort of phalanx to protect the opening. As Jasnah gets close to the top of the wall, she notices something looming above her(another Thunderclast?) and begins to begins to jump toward it in order to attack(which is why her lower foot is hovering slightly above the one of the last steps, and her other is raised highly as if in mid leap). Thoughts?
  5. I got Truthwatcher as my primary Order, however based on the descriptions, I don't really thing that I fit very well into any single one of them. I guess you could try Willshaper, since it blatantly says that " they defy any single definition", it seems like a good catchall lol.
  6. Pretty much anything that Wit ever says lol.
  7. If you look, you'll notice that the Thunderclast is walking on the opposite side of the wall, away from Jasnah, and that there are spears/soldiers(maybe even Kaladin) on that side which means they're being attacked from the side that Jasnah is on. I suspect that she is looking up at yet another Thuderclast on her side of the wall, which is why she is now in the process of summoning her shardblade, which would explain why the middle of her blade is not yet fully formed(at least I think that's what the hazy portion is supposed to be, considering the rest of the blade is very well defined and solid).
  8. Based on what occurs with humans in SA, they are treated more as indentured servants, which is basically someone who fell into debt, or committed a crime, and is now paying their debt through labor. The Parshmen on the other hand, are like true slaves, who have been brought up since birth for one purpose. this process of raising Parshmen from birth to an age deemed suitable for sale would be quite costly, as they would generate no value for an exceptional amount of time, during which they must be fed and clothed, looked after, and trained to do everyday chores. It is only natural for a slave raised in this fashion to cost more from a slaver's perspective.
