    Not much. I've only been on for month, and it gets easier the longer you're here. I see that Magestar and Straw have already introduced you to "cookies"... Anyway, the site is pretty simple. Upvotes and downvotes are the green and red arrows down in the bottom right corner of a post. They aren't really "like" or "dislike": they measure reputation. Sharders like sharing their opinions, especially if you ask for it. We also like answering questions. WoR is also my favorite book, though HoA is a pretty close second. Those endings... phew! Edit: Something I forgot to mention that really confused me at first: You can run out of upvotes. Once you fill your daily quota, you can only wait until the next day

    Amazon is good for that kind of thing Most of the Brandon books I read I get off there. I have, as of this morning, finished Steelheart. Now, does Mitosis or Firefight come next? Brandon's site is a little bit fuzzy about this. I love David's horrible metaphors, by the way. The porridge-brick was great.

    Oculator. Powers seem more definite, and the Talents are pretty wacko. Would you rather be Szeth's next target, or be an assassin trying to kill Elend on Vin's watch? In other words, would you rather fight Szeth or Vin?

    You stated your opinion at the start of this topic, and we were/are only returning the favor. People on the Shard like to discuss things (as I've found) so we are letting you know how other people react to your opinion. We all feel like you to a point. We all want Oathbringer to come out, but we also like his other works. I read a lot of books at the same time, and I do this because sometimes books can get a little boring, even the Stormlight Archive (Sorry Shallan!). Reading different books helps me finish the ones I already started, so I think that--to a degree--this is how Brandon Sanderson feels. Writing one book when he has the motivation, and then writing another when he has the motivation to write something else. I'm not saying he's just jumping from one book to another, I'm just saying he's his own person and not a robot. Also, nobody likes be insulted, so I'm sorry if you feel a little put off. But as I already said, we are giving you our opinions.

    Yeah, this does make sense. Especially since we know that how you view yourself has an effect on who you are, both on earth and the Cosmere, as illustrated by Kaladin's slave scars and the Returned on Nalthis.

    Nice to meet you too! Welcome to the Shard. The Stormlight Archive might just be my favorite series of all time, but Mistborn is a very close second. I also had no idea there was such thing as the Cosmere, until I found a character with the same name in both SA and MB:SH. So you're not alone! Welcome again to our little corner of the internet!

    Granted. (Seeing as I want that too), the bane will be more gentle than some I've seen. The TV series will not come out until after Oathbringer is released. My wish is to be able to comprehend and know any type of math instantly.

    I suspect that the tours and signings are both a way of saying thank you to the fans for supporting him, and a way for him to just take a break. It's hard for anyone, Brandon included, to just write non-stop without taking a breather. He's already twice as fast as some authors I know, and that's not including the other smaller series he's writing. Fans obviously want to be able to see Brandon, and as SoulcastJam said, they are a part of his energy. Without the fans, Brandon probably wouldn't have as much of an influence. Though, he likes to answer most questions with RAFO, so. I am very excited for Oathbringer, but I'd like for Brandon to do his thing, because that's who he is.

    Hey Sharders! I'm wondering what books would make the most sense to read next. If you guys have any suggestions, that would be awesome! I've already read the following: Mistborn: The Final Empire The Well of Ascension The Hero of Ages The Alloy of Law Shadows of Self The Bands of Mourning Mistborn: Secret History The Rithmatist The Stormlight Archive: The Way of Kings Words of Radiance Elantris: Elantris, Tenth Anniversary Version The Emperor's Soul Alcatraz: Alcatraz Vs The Evil Librarians Alcatraz Vs The Scrivener's Bones Alcatraz Vs The Knights of Crystallia Alcatraz Vs The Shattered Lens Warbreaker These aren't necessarily in the order I read them. If I did that, it would be way confusing. I've heard about some Cosmere shorts, but I'm not entirely sure what to search for. Any help at all is welcome!
