As far as I know. I read somewhere on FB recently that Brandon copy righted it and is not releasing it anymore. I don't know the validity of the source, but it makes sense. He does release a few chapters to some people ( who have applied for something, I think? I don't know about this a lot) still though.

There are people who have read DragonSteel. Sample chapters of Dragon Steel are sent in out sometimes by Bran San for some newsletters or some such. More over, Dragon Steel used to be available for public reading from BYU library. (No longer available now AFAIK). So yeah, some people have read either whole or a few parts of Dragon Steel.

I know, I know some of you are probably sick and tired of discussions on shallan's love life but I had an epiphany just a few moments ago and if this has already been posted, I am really sorry! So, I know many people in this forum are of the belief that adolin killing sadeas is going to put a strain on his relationship with shallan and eventually they are going to break up giving way to Shadolin ship (which I hate hate hate hate hate hate hate bdw) . I think it is more or less given that Adolin's act is going to undermine a lot of Dalinar's actions when it comes out, and that is going to be atleast an arch that is eventually going to run. In short, Adolin ruining his father's efforts. Guess who else was responsible directly or indirectly for their father's downfall? Shallan. I know it is not really Shallan's fault that her mother tried to kill her. I know she is entirely right in killing her mother and the other dude. BUT, regardless of validity of her actions (especially considering that some would view Adolin's actions as valid), it is her actions and her father's love for her which made him take responsiblity for a crime he didn't commit that broke her father. He had to take blame, be ridiculed or scorned for something his daughter did. Yes he proceeded to break his family instead of just being broken, but you get my point. Now I imagine Dalinar is going to punish adolin one way or the other once this comes out. However much he punishes him, Dalinar is still going to suffer back lash from what Adolin did. But unlike Shallan's father, Dalinar will not break so easily. Just the way unlike shallan who murdered defense, Adolin murdered in offense. I don't know if I am making any sense at all, but what I am saying is that Shallan's and Adolin's storylines are reflecting each other. So far, so far as we have seen, Kaladin and Shallan are exact opposites. By exact, I mean exactly that. Kaladin hating normal rains, shallan loving normal rains and things like that. That is what makes Shalladin too damned terrible for me. No couple is that well aligned, down to the very small things. But shallan and adolin, so far the only reason shallan liked adolin is because he is generally likeable and he is pretty good looking. But now, after sadeas' murder, Shallan and Adolin have mirroring storylines too. That makes them similar and dissimilar at the same time, just like a real life couple should be. So, fellow shadolin shippers, all hope is not lost yet ;-;

I don't think they will change. How can sprenblade change shape as per wielder's will? Well, it is because of the bond between spren and the radiant that the spren can anticipate what radiant wants and alter their physical form accordingly. Do honorblades have a consciousness like that? I do not think so. So, I think honorblades don't change shapes like Sprenblades do.

Tbh, I never thought he used lerasium bead for feruchemy. I was under the assumption that aside from Yolen lightweaving, feruchemy was one of the earliest magics he learned. I was under the assumption that he learned it through a process we don't know yet. Now I kinda feel stupid! @Extesian Thank you so much for the WoBs!
-
WAIT. WHAT. He doesn't? When was it confirmed? damnation, I was under the assumption that he was a feruchemist all along
-
wow, this is the first time I considered this. Take an upvote.

we know that a certain world hopper can use 1)awakening (I am assuming this because the side effects of breath can clearly be seen (perfect pitch that is), so I assume awakening can also be done) 2)Yolish Lightweaving. (in way of kings) 3)Allomancy (words of radiance, cofirmed by brandon) 4)Feruchemy ( more specificially feruchemical fortune) we also see elantrian artifacts to establish connection and such working in Scadrial. I don't know if they can be considered magic though. We also know hemalurgy can be used anywhere. Therefore, I assume that the shard doesn't need to be present for someone to use the magic system based on it.

So, we have a small group of cosmere fans on fb and we were talking about ships and all, and one thing let to another and we came up with weird shardic realizations. A little NSFW, so putting up a warning. And if such posts are not allowed in this forum, by all means let me know or delete it. It's chill. Endowment would be the hottest of all shards because she is obviously well 'endowed'. If Devotion and Dominion were a couple, It would be pretty safe to assume that they were into bondage and stuff. If human x spren is possible, then shallan is the luckiest teenager in Roshar. Cuz pattern vibrates. If there is a survival shard, and the shard holder was female, it is very possible that "there is always another secret" refers to Kelsier and The shard holder's children. There were other way more nsfw stuff, but I am kinda hesitant to put them here :"D

Is this how Parshendi communicate with each other?
Reborn radiant replied to Reborn radiant's topic in Stormlight Archive
Wouldn't that be too much like what preservation and ruin did on Scadrial? Preservation put a little bit too much of himself in humanity. I don't think Brandon would do the same story line twice. -
They lived a relatively peaceful life of 4500 years, yes. But they lived it alone. Doesn't recovery from any mental illness need emotional support from friends or family? Heralds were essentially subjected to millenia of torture. Much much longer than 4500 years, I would guess. And it is not just the time between desolations, it is the desolations too. Imagine being in incredibly pain every second of your life, and then suddenly you are free. No more pain, no more torture. But then you are not completely free. You were freed from torture only to take up the incredible responsibility of leading humanity ever again, and that too in a battle, something that would cause more pain to them, and something they wouldn't want to be a part of because of all that torture they have faced. Heralds didn't have a chance at a happy life. Heralds didn't have a peaceful future in their future. The only future they could see (and probably had) were a cycle of torture and war, over and over and over. I don't know, I am really bad at analogies, but imagine suffering from a really painful disease most of your life and when you are suddenly cured of that disease, you get another and you know full well that you are going to suffer again once this is done. I know it is impossible to be empathetic to them, but it is very easy to sympathize with them. More over, aren't you judging herlads by their lowest point instead of their normal behavior? We have literally no pint of view chapters from any of the heralds pre insanity. They were probably compassionate, probably honorable, probably vile or just bland. We do not know. I am not hating on heralds because they abandoned man kind, I am sure they had no other choice. ( In their point of view. Please look from their point of view, everything will make way more sense) Anyway what I want to say is this: 4500 years of lonely life, with their own illnesses and no-one to rely on or trust, WILL NOT heal you of your mental disorders.

Is this how Parshendi communicate with each other?
Reborn radiant replied to Reborn radiant's topic in Stormlight Archive
Oh, that I didn't know. Thanks! Also there was this other thread on 17th shard which talks about lightweavers could potentially affect these waves too. If the rhythms are similar to the waves that permeate cosmere, it would be badass. -
Is this how Parshendi communicate with each other?
Reborn radiant replied to Reborn radiant's topic in Stormlight Archive
I don't mean complete control of the parshmen by someone else when I mean part-hive mind. I just mean that they all seem to connected to something. Consider this: Eshonai speaks of attuning to peace. She speaks as if that rhythm always exists and all she has to do is reach out to it. It means all listeners are connected to something same. Something large and common to all listeners. I view it as collective thoughts of all listeners. So when she is attuning to peace, eshonai is essentially behaving more like other listeners who are at peace. But she has the option to opt out of it and be violent. It is her choice. so she does have independence. (I hope I am making sense!) He was in warform bdw. Not stormform. -
Is this how Parshendi communicate with each other?
Reborn radiant replied to Reborn radiant's topic in Stormlight Archive
True. But it is possible that it is too instinctive for them to actually think about it when they do it. I mean we hardly think about breathing all the time, right? So, it IS possible that they are communicating via cognitive realm and connection, but they don't realise it. Oh, also I don't mean nahel bond. Just the usual spren trapping done by Parshendi. Right. I forgot about this. Thank you! But the point still remains is that they might be communicating via CR and connection. Because of the connection their minds may be partially open to other listeners and because they are partially in CR they can send rudimentary forms of thought in the form of rhythms. Or do we have a clear answer as to how parshendi are able to communicate with each other? I think the reason is realmatic rather than biological. -
I apologize if this has been put forth already. So, we know all parshendi are partially in the cognitive realm ( Is it confirmed? ), I think so, because of their ability to see spren. If I remember it correctly, they see spren coming off from a far off place and collect around them, alethi just see spren materializing around them. (While on that topic, is the presence of shard pools on horneater peaks gives Rock affinity to see spren?). So. if all parshendi are partially in cognitive realm, and if they all share a strong connection between them, then they could probably act as a semi-bee hive species. I mean not with a queen that can control them all, but they all act as if they have a single mind when they are singing or attuning to a rhythm. I don't think the slave form can do this because they have no spren and they are not in the CR. So, now this leads to another point. Are parshendi partly in CR because they have spren or is it the other way? I think it is the earlier. In words of radiance, just before he lashes for the first time, we see him partly entering cognitive realm and controlling the surge from there. So it is the spren taking them partly to CR. Hence slave form, no spren, no entry to CR, hence can't communicate to other parshendi. I am sorry if this is a fairly popular theory, I just haven't thought of it this way until now

Hemalurgic Spikes And Communication
Reborn radiant replied to Themasterhunter's question in Cosmere Q&A
Ruin gets the ability to talk to people who have hemalurgic spikes because of the cracks in their souls, and both ruin and preservation, and that aforementioned individual in secret history could detect those cracks and get into their minds. But secret history spoilers: So, so I think it is the amount of investiture you have that matters. I do not know, nor can I imagine how bleeder talked to spiked individuals. But, I don't think southerners could do it because they would need large amounts of investiture for that. More over, all the individuals who did this so far were in cognitive realm (the realm of mind, and hence I assume easy to force their way into the minds of cracked individuals) and that is the reason why Lord Ruler couldn't read peoples' minds (It was explicitly mentioned in the final empire.), he was always in physical realm. Another possibility I could see happening is this: What if all the southerners have very strong connection between themselves? I find it implausible because it would make them a sort of semi hive mentality thingy. I don't think that is happening here. -
More likely spren are choosing people who are most effective at helping them survive desolation. Remember what Jasnah told shallan about spren bringing them all together? I don't find it particularly hard to believe that spren are choosing lots of Kholins because they are already together and have wonderful character traits. It is NOT genetic though. The spren have to choose the radiant.

Pattern vibrates and shallan is a teenager. Just saying.

I know, I know this is going to sound really really stupid. But I totally want kaladin x rysn to happen. Rysn is my favorite interlude character, hands down (I don't even know why, I just love her), and Kaladin x rysn will be my ship that will definitely break my heart because we all know it isn't going to happen.
