If I am not wrong, Kaladin left the honor blade with Dalinar. And also, there was a sample chapter released from oathbringer on tor. Spoilers for that: Moreover, the honorblade grants windrunner powers, which Kaladin already has. I don't think he would keep the honorblade with him. (And he is not good with swords anyway)

I was really happy about some accurate aspects of the dream. I mean general cosmere spoilers
-
Hi! So, I am not really sure if this is the proper forum to post this, but I don't know where else to. So here goes. So, I had a dream this morning, and it was that Bran San came for a surprise signing in hyderabad (in India, the place where I live), and everything is the usual 'omg it's bran san' dream for sometime. He is signing and answering all questions, and I am just lurking in the back ground because I want all the answers and I end up chatting with him (This is how I knew this was a dream ) and I ask him when he is going to start officially releasing snippets from oathbringer because some are already floating online. He answers something vague and unimportant. But here is the important part: He tells me that vasher is killed in oathbringer and that someone kills vasher confusing him to be a herald and that vivenna is investigating about his murder on roshar. There is a small time skip and suddenly I am outside the building and there are two people who are beginning to draw aon Rao on the floor. I hear Bran San mutter "I can only do this much for you to bring magic to this place." and something along the lines of why he came here because he was running out of places with enough magic to write about so he wanted to bring magic here. Then I see hoid walking towards bran san laughing maniacally, and that is when I wake up. I know this is just a weird and silly dream, but I was so excited about this dream! I didn't know where else to post this, so I am posting here. Hope I am not breaking any rules. Cheers!

The Importance of Being Sel
Reborn radiant replied to SylphrenaHonorSpren's topic in Elantris and Emperor's Soul
Um, AU spoilers, I guess. -
Okay this one makes sense for me. It has been told that parshendi are native to roshar and not humans (kinda makes sense because of they symbiosis with spren and what not like other great shells), and that they predate arrival of shards. So I think it's possible that after arrival of honor, cultivation, odium they bonded with odium spren by mistake and became the first void bringers. I am probably rambling, but it kinda makes sense to me.

Hoid Appeared...Not [AU Spoilers]
Reborn radiant replied to HoidvsVoid's topic in Stormlight Archive
Oh that off-screen appearance! I was thinking more along the lines of being actually present during the events of edgedancer. -
Hoid Appeared...Not [AU Spoilers]
Reborn radiant replied to HoidvsVoid's topic in Stormlight Archive
Now I do know he isn't hoid but where did hoid appear? I read edgedancer pretty quickly because of excitement so may be I missed some details. -
I admit, I feel pretty lame asking this question, and I feel like I am missing something really simple, but I can't find an answer to this question. Why don't the shards attack each other? Except for odium, that is. Ruin intends to destroy everything. Then why did it not try and destroy preservation or any other shard as soon as the shard started influencing ati? What is devotion the shard devoted to? It seems like only odium and autonomoy are acting as per their intent.

Adonalsium was, essentially, useless?
Reborn radiant replied to CaptainRyan's topic in Cosmere Discussion
The 16 shards are different facets of Adolnasium's personality. So adolnasium as a whole was just like us. He had all the feelings, and he could act the way he wanted to , just like us. Now when the shards are seperated , the other shards can't influence another shard bearer, so he would be acting only according to the intent of the shard he is holding. If sazed held more than just ruin and preservation, he would be influenced by those shards as well, and is a step closer to becoming a complete personality. -
Hello people! I don't know if this has already been discussed, so apologies if the post is repetitive. Anyway, this is the epigraph of chapter way of kings. "The life is my death, the strength becomes my weakness, the journey has ended" Now, I read somewhere that Brandon gave clues to the ends of stormlight in epigraphs of way of kings, and this one seems pretty important to me. This feels like something Kaladin would say. He is the only one that gave a serious thought to the first oath, we are not shown dalinar and shallan thinking a lot about it. This could be something Kaladin would say, or happen to Kaladin at the very end of arc 1 of stormlight. The life is my death : We know kaladin easily goes to depression, and when he is depressed, when he is the wretch, this is how he would feel. I imagine some one important, very close to Kaladin is going to die - I don't know. Rock, teft, shallan... There are many choices. The strength becomes my weakness: Now, this I can't say. I imagine that by the end of arc 1 some champion has to face odium. ( I think odium is going to be freed by the end of this arc) May be odium has counters to stormlight based magics? I don't know much about this. The journey has ended: I think this is pretty straight forward. Kaladin is going to die. Or I think he is going to sacrifice himself in the grief of his loved one's death. I know this is just a theory, and there is nothing whats so ever proofs to this theory, but I think this quote suits to Kaladin. And that Kaladin is going to die. What do you guys think?

What you are all forgetting are the knights radiant. They can turn the tide of a battle in eye blinks. Scadirel has a lot of mistings? Roshar has a lot of radiants and squires. Rosharan magic is more powerful, more flexible and has wider range of applications than Scadrial magic, especially on a battle field. But considering that the stormlight is not available anywhere except on roshar, unless the battle takes place on Roshar, Scadiel is going to win easily. Also, metal is not easily available on Roshar, so if the battle takes place on Roshar, Roshar is going to win easily.

Hemalurgy ( and its COMPLETE knowledge) is enough for me. I don't want more, you know investiture interferes investiture. But out of the given choices I am choosing Scadrial and Nalthis.

Sorry if this has been asked before, I have been meaning to know this since the first time I read alloy of law.
Consider someone who burns cadmium say Marasi. If she has sufficiently large amounts of cadmium, and if she keeps burning it continuously she could form a bubble in which the time runs very slowly and the time out of the bubble runs fast. With proper supplies she could stay inside the bubble for days and come out to see years passed.

Isn't this similar to what hoid is doing?

Heck Marasi can potentially live thousands of subjective years while living only normal lifespan inside the bubble. Even if she doesn't do that, even if we consider her burning the metal at the same rate as other allomancers, she would live for a longer time than normal people because her body lived a "smaller" time than others.

Now consider someone burning bend alloy, say like wayne. They are the exact opposite of marasi. He can live for a hundred years inside a bubble to come out and see that only few days have passed. Even for a normal usage of the metals, he would live for a particularly lesser amount of time than what others can, because his body aged "longer" than others for the same outside time for all the time he spends in speed bubbles.

Cadmium is more useful than Marasi gives it credit for. Consider how much useful it can be for biologists working on evolution, astronomers studying star cycles etc.!!

and you can potentially rule out a player from a chase or the events going on if you just sneak in a cadmium burner and flare the metal around the important opponent - say army general. Even if you flare the metal for few seconds, you potentially leave him useless for hours!

Consider a seige. If you have enough cadmium burners and if you bring all your poulace and your resources into one spot and make a huge time bubble around them and spend a few weeks inside it, months will have passed outside but you are no where near the end of your food or resources. It can change the face of seiges and war fare!

Also, how will be savant of cadmium or bendalloy be?

Hard to choose between Dalinar and Kaladin. I find honor to be the best of the traits, and Kaladin and Dalinar have them both in plenty. They are both badasses too, brilliant fighters, intelligent and all that. I will go with Dalinar. He is wise, he is honorable, he is brave and he is a badass. effing all mighty chose him, that must count for something. My favorite scene is from the way of kings, it is from Dalinar's POV. When he loses all hope of survival, when he almost gave up and was ready to die, and then he sees bridge 4 struggling to defend the single bridge. "It was the single most bravest thing Dalinar ever saw". this line gives me chills.

Favorite cosmere character quote!
Reborn radiant replied to Sylfan's topic in General Brandon Discussion
"There is always another secret" - this will be the defining quote of all cosmere until we get all the books! "Life before death. Strength before weakness. Journey befoe destination" I love this quote because of the number of ways we can interpret it, just like a quote is supposed to be. It doesn't give a clear meaning, nor is it self-explanatory. Everyone I met has a different interpretation of this quote, apart from the explanation Sanderson gave us. -
its confirmed we are going to get hoid in the graphic novel?
-
the pocket companion says that three spren can bond to form bond smiths. I assumed one was cultivation because stormfather himself is the splinter of honor.
-
Sorry if this question is already asked We know there are three sprens which bond with someone to form a bond smith. One is Stormfather. Who are the others? I speculate one is cultivation - I know it is a shard, but I am thinking they would consider the shard as a powerful spren.
-
I always thought that the radiant who spoke the last ordeal gets his own shard plate from the spren itself.

yes I believe the sand lord that appeared to elorin is autonomy.
-
are you kidding me? we are all for realism in fantasy. Especially in fantasies like Mistborn 1.5. The only realism You cant expect from a fantasy is regarding the magic system, thats all. Well as for your answer any way, I will wait for some one better knowledgeable than me to answer it

Hey people! my first post here. Okay coming to the point, I finished white sand and I love both khriss and kenton, and since I wanted to know more about khriss, I read secret history again. and here there is this dialogue. Khriss is in exile. Exile from? was she exiled from the dark side for some thing she did and hence started working for 17 th shard? Or is she in exile from 17 th shard? If so, what could be the reason she is in exile from17th shard or from the dark side? Also I have a question. Are there more books coming about white sand? Or is the white sand going to end this way? With kenton going to dark side to catch up with khriss. I know there is a trilogy of graphic books coming, but I guess the trilogy is based entirely on this draft we got. So the big question, is there going to be more to white sand than the draft we received? I hope to god there is more. I loved white sand, more than elantris or war breaker or newer mistborn novels. I loved both kenton and khriss. Please tell me ther are more books going to come Also what do you guys think is going to happen with kenton? Do you think is he going to become a world hopper too? Considering that even baon became world hopper, do you guys think we can have three world hoppers from a single planet? Or do you guys think, kenton and khriss are going to be seperated ( i hope this doesn't happen)?
