  1. I would agree with you if beeing Elantrian was just a powerup like Breaths or Nahel Bond that are just strapped onto your soul. However a person stuck between beeing human and Elantrian is a damaged Zombie, what seems to imply that Elantrian transformation replaces some things in soul and body instead of just appending. Even if all things that Elantrian gets would be lost, I don't think things that make them human would be returned. With Hemalurgy it could be diffrent since it changes body when is inserted and when it is removed, but Elantrian transformation through raw connection would at least leave pernament damage, and mabye pernament boons (because of connection that could have been gained during transformation).
  2. Loosing abilities - yeah. I don't belive they would be able to become human again though. In my opinion they would end up as a powerless Elantrian (like on other planet) or Zombie-Elantrian, like that one guy that kept talking about his beautifull hair that he lost.
  3. I don't think there is any desintegratoin. Since human PHISICAL body can get into Cognitive Realm it should be also able to get into the Spiritual Realm. However since there is no time or space inside travel would more or less indtant just as we see with oathgates. Back to topic - Heralds are Cognitive Shadows so they probably use Cognitive Realm for transportation, and draw upon Honor's power to get a body when they are at the right place.
  4. Human perception and emotions shape cognitive realm. They create something that Spren use for a sustenance - i belive that thing is Identity. A heartbeat is a symbol of live, therefore human heartbeat generates Identity of 'being alive'. Rosharian subconciously would belive that ten portions of 'beeing alive' is an adequate amount to grant something a status of a living object. Mass subconciousness shapes cognitive realm, and sets this rule as a law of nature, unless an object already posesses certain level of 'beeing alive'.
  5. Exactly. If you can soulcast stones into wheat grain (or whatever that grain was), that are very complexly built then why wouldn't you be capable of soulcasting something into a forged steel, TOGETHER with the air inside the bubles. After a lot metal things in Alethia are made out of metal from wood, because it is easier than casting/forging, and if air inside material was a problem, then structural integrity of those items would be abominal. Just think about how much heavier is stack of paper than wood block of the same size.
  6. We don't have any explanation but I don't think it is even necessary. Afrer all hemalurgy works by attaching a piece of soul to another entity. If the same piece of soul is attached to two entitys (Like ghost and an empty body), it could easilly work as some sotr of bridge. Moreover Hemalurgy twists the bodies of its users to make suplement damages caused by it, liike Inquistor spikes in their brain - it could easilly be a case of planned overcorrection. It also is capable of drastically changing souls and bodies - I belive it is implied that it is possible to create Kandra with only Hemalurgy from human if you know what you are doing, and if Kandra are doable then there is REALLY much that can be done in the "right" hands.
  7. As of now we don't really know what Fabrial-Soulcasters are, and how and when they were made. It might be connected to Radiants, Amians, Dawnshards, Heralds, Cultivation or even Sibling in any possible combination, and there is no reason to assume that they were even available before Last Desolation. One thing we know for sure is that they are different from normal fabrials, and Navani doesnt know how they work.
  8. 1) I don't see posibility of anyone stopping beeing Elantrian, byt the powert output might get significantly lower. 2) Sheod happens during sleep, so you would have to consume quite a lot of connection in one night (ok, MABYE one full medallion is enough but that is full speculation on how connection actually stacks), IF it evens ensures transformation.
  9. @Calderis You convinced me. I would assume that Allik was talking with strong accent and was treated as someone with foreign heritage because he was tapping moderate amounts of connection. With a propper amount when you are not saving it for later you could surely behave as someone "very local". And if Sheod searches the most patriotic, or most connected people then mabye a sudden release of hudge amounts of connection would be enough to trigger it? It would make sense because Dor is practically a storm in cognitive realm - Sheod could work like a lightning that searches for a way of least resistance.
  10. Unfortunatelly seem like connection is mostly limited to language, although we don't know that for sure (there are probably ways of breaking it like Inqusitors' steelsight). Mistborn magic doesn't seem to use as much investiture as surges, and that seems to make it more focused and limited, unlike them with the Kaladin's storm-breaking or Shallan's soul altering and that whole Dalinar buisness. Compounder might create enough of it to use it outside of it's normal purpose, especially if some savantness is at play. Other thisg is that Secret History and Oathbringer seem to imply that Elantrians can somehow capture Dor in spheres.
  11. @Ixthos Questioner Concerning everything on Roshar, is it safe to say The Stormlight Archive will become the backbone series of the story of the cosmere? Brandon Sanderson There are three backbone series: Dragonsteel, Mistborn, and The Stormlight Archive. And Mistborn is past, present, future, Stormlight is the center, and Dragonsteel is the beginning. So really it goes: Dragonsteel, Mistborn, Stormlight, Mistborn, Stormlight, Mistborn is basically how this backbone sequence goes. source
  12. Adolin probably thinks that she is using cloack like an armour, but he doesn't see that cloack as enough protection to be used that way. The cloack is probably awakened to protect to make it not only more resistant, but also because Investiture it would protect to some level from magic and shardblades.
  13. Stormfather did say that Dalinar could kill him after bonding, so I don't think that he had his oath broken at any point.
  14. Sanderson considers Dragonsteel-Stormlight-Mistborn as a backbone of the series. Dragonsteel as the orgin, Stormlight as the center piece (and it holds place for probably the most important conflict - Odium vs Honor), so it makes sense that Mistborn gets the ending. The thing about Mistborn is that it grows. During the times of final empie Scadrial was just a Shardworld like any other, but at the end of cosmere it will be the center of interstellar empire. Every planet that wouldn't be forbidden to contact with them would feel either like part of Scadrial or surrounded by Scadrial. I also don't belive it will be that much focused on Metallic Arts - technology and main character probably would be using mainly it, but Scadrian society with help of Harmony in the world full of diffrent kinds of magic would be probably more interested in the nature of investiture itself.
  15. Do you remember wheather she was only againt idea of kids or relationship as well? On my last readthrough I didn't verry much care about Venli. That definitelly wont be the case anymore.
  16. A lot of assumptions will be there: What if Silver is opposite to Alluminum? - Instead of beeing difficult to push Investiture into it it would be REALLY easy (like a hygroscopic material for investiture)... This comes from the fact that burning alluminium would help you with withering. In that case withering might be some kind of soul - polution / virus created by unstable cognitive shadows, and spreads making other investiture infected. In that case alluminium would be like inpenetrable barrier, and silver would be like salt sucking up water. It wouldn't hurt Kelsier since he isn't unstable, but for a Shade it would be like puting salt on wound - but a few magnitudes stronger. And eating powdered silver would be like putting a wet phone in a bag of dry rice and waiting for it to suck out the water. It could also do wonky things when connected to alluminium. Mabye working like diode?
  17. I would assume that "no innate powers" mean no superpowers like lasers from eyes or flying, but because they are cognitive shadows in respawning body, their soul and flesh is easier to modyfy with training and power of will, and possibly can aqquire some quirks like Horneaters' seeing of spren, or Shallan's personalities.
  18. Well, lets look at the obstacles for that ship: 1. Diffrent races (small problem). 2. Haven't met (yet, and Venli is to become one of the main characters since the next book so also small problem). 3. Venli caused apocalypse (but she is good now, so... mabye a problem? Certainly interesting dynamic). If any of you see anything more please tell me. As of right now I see very nice Pros and little to no Cons.
  19. Vivenna never used it, and could talk with it even in Warbreaker. Since spren can talk and show themselves to whoever they want it would make sense that a "Robot-Spren" (term approved by Sanderson himself for analogy purposes) could talk to whoever they want.
  20. He already is the Parshendi advocate in Urithuru, his Windruners are the only known group within forces of Honor that activelly support idea of human-parshendi collaboration, he is the only known person to allow parshmen/parshendi use weapon, and has a parshendi amongst his elite group (bridge 4). He is also probably known amongst the forces of odium because of his actions in the frst part of Oathbringer. Venli is supposed to become leader of Parshendi rebellion forces. She is bound to work closelly with Kalladin as he is "that one guy we can trust for sure", and has the single most mobile unit on Roshar period. And that close work can transform into something else. Moreover he is probably seen by most people as the most "radiant" Radiant, and Venli is going to be the very face of rebellion. That is THE SINGLE BEST marriage for PR of humans/listeners cooperation. They both have survivors guilt (Venli has it for a reason, but Kalladin seems to more affected), and seem to cope with it kind of similarly (unlike it is with Shallan who has completelly diffrent approach), and probably would find a lot of understanding towards eachother. Also unlike with Shallan while Kalladin hates lighteyes he has a lot of respect towards orginal Parshendi, and Venli despite despising most of humans she has ingrain respect towards Radiants (and as I've said Kalladin is the most "radiant" Radiant). I've hyped myself so much that now I belive it. I will be laughing with satisfaction like crazy when it will be confirmed.
  21. Honestly I don't like all 'real' Kalladin ships, and when I saw Venli x Kaladin in the title I hyped myself up I just really want someone to help Kaladin, and for some reason Venli might be viable after her 'upgrates' are finished. As of now as I write this post Venlidin is my Kaladin's OTP .
  22. *Odium kills Honor* That's a lot of damage. How about a little more... *Odium decides to kill Stormfather* ---------------------------------------------------- Edit: Szeth's cat
  23. You guys know who it is. Mistborn Spa.webm
  24. It is heavly connected to the Investiture. In cosmere human soul is basically made of magic, and different kinds of magic interfere with eachother. It is implied that one day is the max for the soul forgery to hold, while inanimate objects have no upper limit.
