Nightwatcher Boon/Bane (Game)
Magestar replied to killersquirrel59's topic in Forum Games & Random Stuff
Granted? You are bonded with a honorspren; of your choice. This fits, because Honor is a shard of Adolnasium, and Honorspren are splinters of Honor, so, indirectly, you have a Spren... of Adolnasium. Anyway, your bane is that your spren is argumentative, and has a tendency to misinterpret your requests. As a result of this, your powers are all wacky. I wish for my previous two banes to cease working. -

Granted. However, you now have to deal with the problem of surviving... on Mars. But that isn't even your bane yet! Your bane; You discover that there really are aliens on Mars, and they declare you a hostile force. Good Luck with those problems. I wish to be a Full Metalborn. (Full Feruchemist/Mistborn.) With no disadvantages regarding the use of my powers. -

I actually did ask for a wish, before you posted that. Editing Ninja. Anyway, you get your spren friend. However, it is a stormspren, and is slowly twisting you to do Odiums wishes. Bwahahahah. I want a pet Tiger. -
But now its 2016.... And I personally wonder if tapping enough weight to actually move said ship would crush the Feruchemist. There must be a limit of what he can do, right?

Your wish is granted! (However, you forgot to answer my wish. How uncouth.) Brandon finishes the Ars Arcanum for Hemalurgy, and thousands of sanderfans are extremely happy. Your bane? You now followed everywhere by angry sentient raccoons, who will stop at nothing to eat your trash, and bite your feet. I wish that all the 17th sharders were sentient racoons, and I, as the coolest sentient raccoon, was the king. -

Your wish is granted. However, it will be rather hard to read now, due to your bane... You are now a sentient raccoon. Ha. How do you like them apples? I wish for a pet sentient raccoon. -

The Nightwatcher curses you as a fool, for attempting to cheat the system. She turns you into a sentient raccoon. I want to continue as I would normally. (Not a real wish, but I just wanted to turn Arcoss into a raccoon. ) -

Granted. You skip through allergy season, and, just for extra measure, all the way through summer as well. No summer for you. Your bane, which is not skipping through summer, is that you now have a constant feeling of being watched. Spooky. I wish that I was a skimmer ferring, with a working metalmind. -
You are saying that each bind point gives you a different power? Or that putting multiple same-charge (same-spiritweb portion) spikes will not overlap?
-
Ok. Thanks for all the help guys. Hey, would anyone like a cookie?
-
Ok. Thanks for the help. Lets say that the size of the bindpoint is 2 milimeters, square. Lets now say I have 2 spikes which are keyed to that point, which are both small enough to fit inside the point. Could I put both spikes there, thus gaining twice the power? Also, can you make spikes out of metalminds, and vice versa? Can you store in spikes that currently have a hemalurgic charge?
-
Ok, I think I understand now. Thanks for all the help! A few more questions. Could you spike out a persons whole spiritweb? Can you fuse multiple (Same Charge) spikes together, to get a spike of greater power? (Thus fixing the 'hemalurgic decay' aspect, and gaining more power, rather than less.) And, how big are bindpoint? Does the size of spikes matter? As you can see, I have a lot of questions about Hemalurgy.
-
Could you do it without feruchemical gold? I feel like this is unlikely, considering that you can only take one of a mistborns powers. However, I do not understand why this is the case. Does it have to do with Hemalurgic points? Or is the soulweb to damaged to use multiple hemalurgic spikes? Also, on another note, how do the Hemalurgic points work? Is that just for the person being killed, or for the person being gifted? I feel like it is for the person being spiked, because in HoA, Spook is stabbed in the shoulder for pewter, and none of the Inquisitors, who have pewter spikes, have arm spikes. (This coud all be misnderstanding on my part, and is simply silliness. However, I feel like the best way to find out is to ask here.)
-
Can you steal multiple attributes from a person via hemalurgic spikes? For instance, if they had Feruchemical gold, and could heal themselves, could you take all there other attributes away? I.E attributes listed 'Human ______' on the list on this page; http://mistborn.wikia.com/wiki/Hemalurgy

Just a note here, you did not make a wish either... *evil music* *maniacal laugh* And thus, for your foolishness, you shall recieve the same punishment as the one you have cursed! Then will you know to learn from those who go before you! Muahahahahahahaha... *cough cough cough* Anyway... I wish to eat the greatest sandwich ever, and that my bane does not affect the enjoymeant of said sandwich. edit: Almost asked for the greatest sandwitch ever. Phew. -

This is a Bane? Anyway... Granted! However, the third short story leaves you with so many questions, that you go insane. I wish to be more focused/attentive to work. -
Personally, my favorite character is Szeth. I like the way he thinks, and the way his chracter is personified in general. Also, I really enjoy reading all the fight scenes he has. The description is wonderful, and I like reading the mechanics as he is fighting. Plus, how cool is it to run on walls? Or the Ceiling? And my favorite scene has gotta be when Szeth is handed Nightblood. Wondeful setup for that scene. An 'Its all coming together' moment for me. Also, I just loved how, if you had read warbreaker, you instantly knew what it was. "Do you want to destroy some evil today?"

Granted. Disney rebuilds a star wars Cannon, one that was on one of the original star destroyers. The Nightwatcher takes pity on you for your poor spelling, and gives you no bane. I wish to be an excellent fighter. -
Ah. I see. Glad someone fixed that.

There is yet another possibility that may not have been considered yet... He may just be changing suits. This would not nearly be as interesting, however, we have to maintain it as a possibility.

Just out of interest, what red button?

From the quote you provided, it seems more like forging (Like Feruchemy) depends more on what the person has to offer than what the magic system has to offer. The quote states that to get something out of Forgery, you have to put an equal(ish) amount in. Also, we have never seen Hoid using more than one magic system at one time. So, there is always the possibility that he is just putting something he already has (Yolish Lightweaving) to gain something else. Also, we are dealing with the possibility that Hoid is a full lerasium mistborn here. That is a lot of investiture to work with. Personally, these things make a lot of sense. The main problems are how Hoid gained awareness of Cosmere events in the first place, and how he gained world hopping abilities. If he is Yolish, which I am pretty sure is fact now, how did he get to Elantris? How has he lived so long? So on and so forth. I think a lot of thought was put into this idea. Some things are definitely off, but that has already been said. Personally, I love the idea that Hoid wants to become the Shard of Wit. It just seems so... fitting.

Granted. He finishes it, and is preparing to realease it, however, the Nightwatcher causes it to spontaneously combust, due to your attempts at tampering with the time/space/THE CREATIVE PROCESS! I wish not to see the world in Ultraviolet. (I shall continue to attempt to fix the banes of my previous wishes.) -
Good Question/Idea. I am not sure she is Terris, however, the Terris world hopper is Female. I think I found the WoB you were talking about. I edited out the 4 questions not pertaining to the point. LIGHTYLANTERN (REDDIT) Thanks a lot for doing this, Brandon. You're my favourite author, and I have a million things I want to ask you, but since I'm not the only one asking questions, I'll ask the ones most important to me. 2. In The Hero of Ages, Demoux gets together with a woman named Aslydin. He's then seen on Roshar in The Way of Kings. Knowing how loyal Demoux is, he wouldn't just leave Aslydin behind like that. Is she connected to his reasons for becoming a member of the Seventeenth Shard? BRANDON SANDERSON (REDDIT) 2) Aslydin is in the Seventeeth Shard, and had her own work to be about. I've given subtle clues about her before, but the ethnicity of the name should strike you. Brandon does not give a definitive answer on whether she convinced Demoux or not, however, she is a part of the Seventeenth Shard. I just don't know this one.
