  1. One possibility is that plate has minor benefits corresponding with all ten surges, not just from the two that belonged to the former radiant. So far the surges I have seen so far are Gravitation (self righting feature), abrasion (sticky boots and possibly speed), and Progression (the way the plate regenerates from chunks). We have not seen the surges of intermolecular forces such as Tension, but this might explain the Plates durability.
  2. Well most Nahel bonds would be more restricting than helpful to Hoid, because to keep the bond intact he would need to live by a certain moral code that might not fit with his goals. The only known exception to this rule is bonding a cryptic, which requires the telling of truths instead of oaths. Another problem for Hoid is that it is very hard to take a spren off planet, and while he could probably find a hack it might not be worth his trouble.
  3. By the time you are a lerasium savant you definitely would have ascended, as which point you cease to have a physical body. While you might be ridiculously powerful, your strength would be zero as you don't have a body to move things with.
  4. Does this apply to the general population of shardbearers or only to radiants?
  5. Would the placebo effect have any influence on F gold or stormlight healing, as it essentially changes how someone views them self? For example, would a radiant who consistently takes a bogus weight loss supplement actually lose weight as they are healed to how they view themselves?
  6. It would tear me apart to see Adolin go bad, but at the same time Sanderson has already set up a lot of events that could lead to him "going dark". I could definitely see it happening in Oathbringer.
  7. Stormlight healing works with how someone veiws themselves, which sometimes goes against the reality of their situation. Kaladin's scars won't heal because he still views himself as a captive, but this took over a year of surviving some of the most brutal conditions possible while dealing with some serious depression. I'm not sure where Rysn's interlude on the Reishi Isles falls in the timeline, but I don't think that being a useless cripple will become part of her core identity in a hurry. Especially with her adventurous attitude, if she gains stormlight the first thing she will want to do is go explore her new powers. As a sidenote, her and the Larkin might get to spend some quality time with the pot of grass. Might make for some interesting conversations.
  8. Thanks
  9. North South East and West definitely have a connection, but past that I think it simply comes down to how many 3 letter words with 2 vowels you can come up with. If there IS a code someone can figure out that would be great, but I don't see a way for it to help that much. Maybe you could get more done looking at the irregularities, Eshe, Sheo, and Shao.
  10. So recently, I have been seeing a bunch of people change their names to Ookla. What did I miss, or is this some inside joke?
  11. But if they don't already have some how are they supposed to soulcast it? You can't just magically conjure up something you don't know exists.
  12. Have they even found aluminum on Roshar yet? Still, the more facts we get on these things the better, especially now that Rysn has one.
  13. Also don't count out F zinc, as a crazy enhanced mind could allow TLR to find weakness much faster. As for your points on TLR not having the stamina, Compounding gives him near infinite strength, wakefulness, and determination. No way does he lose.
  14. So while reading through another thread, zinc feruchemy (mental speed) was described as one being able to reason, calculate, and make intuitive leaps much better. Then it hit me: This is Taravangian every day. His "dumb" days are equivalent to storage of mental speed, and the day he wrote the diagram would be equivalent to tapping zinc in enormous proportions. So here is the question: can a zinc compounder covered in full metalminds make another "diagram"?
  15. I'm also not sure how you think Taln will be the new shardholder. Also, the one who "reigns" does not necessarily need to be the most powerful, just the one who influences things most, for example Odium could rule so long as Cultivation chooses not to get involved.
  16. That was actually one of the few theories I hadn't seen yet, so props to you.
  17. It makes me wonder if the group Teft came from was trying to regain the powers that their ancestors once had.
  18. I don't know how to put spoilers in, help?

  19. I would hate for it to be a hidden cache of shards, it would feel like too much like the ending of HoA.
  20. Upvote just for the sheer power of the lifeless squirrel.
  21. So everyone has been making a big deal about how one order undertook "a great subterfuge at the cost of the others", and we have a lot of theories about who they are and where they went, but I don't see a huge deal in it. The most influence that they could have had is an organization started or a legacy left behind, but with the spren acting very reluctant to bond new Radiants I believe that the order died out very quickly, within one generation. Any thoughts?
  22. But Lightweaving is a much more easy way to create quick illusions like that, no need to draw out glowing letters in front of everyone.
  23. Use Sand Mastery to... put sand in peoples underpants during a meeting? Not really many uses for those magic systems in this thread.
  24. I cannot wait to see how Kaladin handles the fallout back home, wether it returns him to depression or grows him as a character. I also want to see the molecular surges and how they function.
