Long Game 28: The Awakening at the House on the Hill
Bugsy replied to Wyrmhero's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I suggest publicly saying whether or not you'll be following the plan, just so we know who's information should be secret. I'm not entirely sure if I will or not, it depends on volume of compliance- 980 replies

Why would they have a higher chance? Edit: also, just realized the first traitor had to be killed. I thought one just had to exist. Ignore my plan- 980 replies

Long Game 28: The Awakening at the House on the Hill
Bugsy replied to Wyrmhero's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I think we should try one person exploring on N1, and see if we find an omen. If we do, the elims are limited to 1 player until another omen is found, but the village can find the heart and the method to kill it. If we don't, we lose a villager, like we would have anyways. Either way, we'd all explore the next night and try to find the heart/weapon or an omen. IMO, it offers enough of a potential advantage that it's worth a try- 980 replies

I was sort of hoping you had already decided we would find an omen N1. It'd make this much more controllable- 980 replies

Long Game 28: The Awakening at the House on the Hill
Bugsy replied to Wyrmhero's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Aman, rather than a chain I would propose a buddy system. This would let people plan together better, because they wouldn't have to worry about info moving backwards on the chain. Also, we could have only 1 person explore until an omen is found. That way, we can all explore the next night to find the heart, but there'd still only be 1 elim at the start of the round we gain that ability. That way, we minimize the enemies we create for phase 3- 980 replies

Quick Fix Game 19: Noble Intentions
Bugsy replied to Jo and the Bush's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Votes with intent to lynch are necessary for discussion early in the game. If we're suspicious of the people who let the vote piles reach the minimum requirement, it'll be that much more difficult to get the information we need. Plus, I'm more suspicious of him than I usually am of anyone this early in a game, so I'm happy to have him be the target we lynch for info. It will let us possibly catch an elim, too, rather than just killing indiscriminately to get info for analyzing- 463 replies

Quick Fix Game 19: Noble Intentions
Bugsy replied to Jo and the Bush's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Lopen, I'm going to trust you on that because it's unlikely you'd put yourself and a conspirator both in danger by lying about a group PM. Jondesu. Also, Jon, I'd assume they didn't target Aman because they'd rather target an active and able player. Plus, Doc is paranoid of Elb, as mentioned earlier, and he was a noble, so he might have influenced that. As for your suspicion of Aman, I feel sort of like you're trying to find a target who's unlikely to fight back and indicate you.- 463 replies

Quick Fix Game 19: Noble Intentions
Bugsy replied to Jo and the Bush's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Jon, he was probably the one nobles were counting on to put in the kill. IIRC, you can only take one action per night. If that's right (someone check me on this), now the nobles will hypothetically have to not use allomancy as much. This is assuming, of course, that the nobles only had one regular. I'm not sure how likely that is- 463 replies

Hey, welcome to the forums! Always nice to have another member. Have an upvote What type of web development do you do? HTML? Or more backend stuff? I'm an aspiring computer scientist, so it's cool to see someone who does it professionally Oh, and I have a compromise on the cookie thing. Take them through metal detectors before you eat them. If they don't set it off, you should be safe

Quick Fix Game 19: Noble Intentions
Bugsy replied to Jo and the Bush's topic in Sanderson Elimination
My biggest suspicions are currently Ecthelion and Sart. Ecthelion seemed very eager to vote on the one person who had contributed actual stuff, who was also the only person with a vote on them. This seems a bit off to me. Sart, meanwhile, tried to defend him by saying no one had defended him yet, a slightly paradoxical situation. Sart has also said elims are prone to making sure their arguments are factually correct. I, personally, am of the opinion that eliminators are prone to bending the truth, and I'd say this situation applies. After all, Lopen was an elim that game, but only after the post Ect quoted. It seemd like Ect was using a convenient example to retroactively justify his claim, even though the claim wasn't strictly true. Wonko, you bring up a good point about Doc. I hadn't noticed that, but I'm somewhat predisposed to trusting him for some reason. Also, I believe his statement pertaining to a multi lynch is incorrect; only the person(s) who receive(s) the most votes die(s) each cycle, not everyone who receives 2. 2 is just the minimum threshold for a lynch to occur in the first place. The updates are fun. They remind me of when I was reading the series Well, try not to intentionally derail other people's threads. You can start your own, if you want to have a specific conversation. If it's actually somewhat relevant, though, go right ahead I can very much relate. My life is a constant struggle to convert my friends and family. So far, I've made 6 people read Mistborn, 2 of whom read Stormlight afterwards. This is after about a year and a half of effort. I've lost count of how many I've tried to convince Before anyone takes any, does the food set off a metal detector?

I think we scared them off accidentally Come back, Bastille! I promise we don't bite!

I finished them in 3 days over the summer Granted, I spent 8 hours in a car during that time Not exactly the same galaxy, but the same smallish universe. I'd suggest reading Warbreaker next to give your wallet some time to recover, since it's free online. Alternately, you can do as bleeder suggested and start Mistborn Era 2 so you remember the powers and world building better. I generally try to have people read Warbreaker before WoR and Elantris before Secret History, but those are the only 2 things I would consider important, and even then they're optional. It's really up to you, read them however you'd like to. Edit: Just understood you meant you already had the Mistborn books coming in. Read those, then
-
Also, are you aware of the Cosmere? I'd be happy to help explain it, if you want

There's an edit feature you can use as well. That way, you can add thoughts and make the forums look clean at the same time Edit: Not referring to Bleeder, just adding on to his point, in case that wasn't clear

Wit's name is Hoid, by the way. Keep that in mind as you read the rest of the serieses Mistborn was my favorite. Reading to the end of the trilogy is definitely worth it. Edit: Might I ask what you do for a living? I may want to sign up

You didn't exactly tell. You implied, but I thought it was going to be one of those things where our paranoia kept us from trusting an asset we might need. I didn't actually expect it to be the seemingly obvious traitor role, what with all the hidden complexities in the game

Hey! welcome to the forums! Have an upvote Don't worry about hitting. This is a Sanderson fan site, after all, not a Jordan one. Also, don't take any cookies, they're spiked. I promise I'm usually more talkative than this, but it's past midnight so I should probably sleep. G'night! Edit: Going to respond to your WoK comments. Sleep is for the weak, anyways. I definitely preferred Mistborn to Way of Kings, but I represent a minority here. Also, only 1 or 2 non Sanderson series beats the Stormlight Archive (WoK series name). The start is confusing and somewhat dry, with not much rising conflict, but it gets much better. The Stormlight Archive is Brandon's baby, and it's the centerpiece of the Cosmere metaseries (I'll leave that bit for someone without a test tomorrow). The biggest thing is that WoK is for someone who already trusts Brandon. You need to get to Words of Radiance (book 2) for it to reach Mistborn quality world wise or plot wise, in my opinion, but once you do it's worth it. I'd also highly recommend Elantris (his 1st published novel, so it's a bit unpolished) and Emperor's Soul, a Cosmere novella that is quite possibly my favorite of his works. I appologize for the rambling. As was previously stated, I should be asleep, and my brain has apparently gotten a head start on my body (no pun intended)
