  1. Also, it's a black sphere (yes, thank me for pointing out the obvious). What Shardic color corresponds to black? Not Odium. That's red. No, black is Ruin's color.

    Just a crazy, crazy idea.

So from what I can tell from the Coppermind (haven't read WoK in a while), Szeth took the sphere and hid it in Jah Keved. In WoR Taravangian becomes king of Jah Keved. The long string of numbers in the Diagram ("Pattern 15") translates to "Hold the secret that broke the Knights Radiant. You may need it to destroy the new Orders when they return."

Any chance these might be connected? Or have I just been staring at the Diagram for too long?

That's very interesting. I've never had much respect for the Diagram, though. Maybe I should. Perhaps it enables Voidbinding, which could be used to destroy the Orders?

  2. Lessie is "technically" dead? She's as dead as a... as a person can be!

Like, I'm pretty sure she's officially, unofficially, straight, sideways, top-down, shake-it-every-which-way dead. Literally.

  3. I feel very much like disregarding the WoB about Kelsier's psychopathy. It may be that my image of psychopathy is of a person who callously abuses other people for pleasure and doesn't possess the ability to understand other peoples' feelings. E.g empathy. But Kelsier is clearly capable of great empathy, unless all of his "save the skaa" thinking was just self-deluded rambling (only half true).

tl;dr Kelsier is not a psychopath, because he is capable of empathy. Brandon might not see psychopathy in this light, however, so there's not much I can do aside from hurling my own viewpoint against his.

  4. That is true. I hope for this perception to change when we learn more about the Shin people, though. So let's keep waiting for Stormlight 3! It'll probably answer our questions.

  5. You find true love. She/he is not the person of your dreams, but you find that you love her/him all the more for that. You think you could live with her/him for an eternity. Unfortunately, to achieve your true love, you have to give up your relationship with another person you love greatly. But life is full of choices.

As for your bane - you guessed it - the name of that person, whose love you had to give up, now manifests as the sound of leaves in the wind whenever it comes up in any manner or form. (You're the real life Dalinar, congratulations!)

I wish for the ability to draft blue. (Drafting blue luxin; it's hard, unyielding, makes for great weapons, also affects your state of mind to become extremely rational, orderly, enthusiastic about equations and so on). It'd be a great boon indeed.

  6. The answer, you hear, a disembodied voice that seems to reverberate within your skull, is the same as the difference between a comedian and a smartass.

As for your bane, another voice interjects, I would have made your face resemble a chull, but nature has unfortunately spared me that duty. Instead, I shall gift you this fitting tin foil hat. May it stick to your scalp forever.

I want to be able to control my hormones at will.

  7. If Stormlight grants supernatural immunities to Rosharans, then the Scadrians' natural immunities from several diseases (earned through centuries of getting killed by them) is ultimately superior.

Of course, this is all relative. A Scadrian won't be any "hardier" than a Rosharan if they both were to travel to, say, Nalthis.

  8. We can infer that other Stormwardens probably use a similar script, too. It's that, or the Sons of Honor have developed a unique means of communication. I find it more plausible that the Stormwardens achieved this. They're known to be scholars.

  9. That sounds like a plausible theory.

@Yata I didn't mean it to be a legitimate theory, just an educated guess. (Granted, most Cosmere theories are mostly speculation at this point) I do think that it makes a fair bit of sense - if we assume that Stormlight is of Honor or Cultivation, which seems obvious.

  10. I like that idea. Each type of spren would then correspond to a series of effects when used through the fabrial.

I just wonder, if that is so, what about the gemstones makes the spren react in such a manner. And what about efficiency? How much Investiture is lost between the input and the output, how efficient are gemstones? I'm thinking of the gemstones as generators. But then, it's left unclear what precisely causes the Investiture to translate into a specific effect.
