    ... If you don't want neurotypical people to give an opinion, why are you posting this on a public forum where at least some neurotypical people are sure to respond? Not saying I disagree with your negative views about the article author's attitude, but consider the possibility that some neurodivergent people besides yourself may not take kindly to implications that they need to be "cured" if they experience different, less difficult forms of neurodivergence than you do.

    If I had my way, I'd listen to music during pretty much all my waking hours except when I'm listening for birds or watching TV/movies. Reading is no exception. My music tastes are super eclectic; I like certain things from a lot of different genres: pop, classic rock, opera, dubstep, classical, movie soundtracks, alternative, and the occasional foray into country, rap, or metal. Oh and folk music. I love Celtic/Irish folk music. That said, I don't really pick out songs/artists/genres specifically to listen to while I read. I just go with whatever is next on my playlist for the day.

    Trust me, you don't want wild birds flying around in your living room. We had a wren find his way in through a slightly open window once (that's probably where this dream came from too), and it was a nightmare trying to usher him out again.

    I had some odd dreams the past two nights. Two nights ago, I dreamed that I found two pairs of Great Horned Owls nesting in the same tree about five feet away from each other like friendly neighbors. Owls don't do that. They're super territorial during breeding season. But these two owl families were friendly as could be, and each one had two fuzzy adorable owlets that were almost ready to fledge. Last night I dreamed that my mom had taken up the habit of smoking cigarettes, and that was utterly bizarre because that's something my mom would never do in a million years. My dream-self got downright furious when I found out. I started yelling at her, batted the cigarette out of her hand, and stomped it on the ground. Later that same night, I dreamed that I was visiting a friend who had installed a bird feeder in her living room. (She hasn't done this IRL, only in the dream.) She kept one window partially open all the time so that the birds could come inside and get to the feeder, and I watched one cute little wren perch on the windowsill before going and pecking at the suet.

    Re: quokkas, I wasn't sure whether all our resident Aussies were being serious about their viciousness, so I turned to Wikipedia: Quokkas on Wikipedia There's also an article on dropbears.

    If you decide to wait on Mistborn, I highly recommend The Diabolic. As a general rule, I only write in-depth reviews for books that I really love, and that one got a thorough review.

    Speaking of Utah's state bird, I remember finding a list once of "Why each state SUCKS" and the reason for Utah was that its state bird is named after California (California Gull). XD

    Not as lost as you'd think. Many kinds of gulls will hang out wherever there's a large body of water, regardless whether it's actually the ocean.

    Brandon drew a Rithmatic diagram in my copy of The Rithmatist without prompting, and he put quotes from Firefight in the two copies I bought at the release party: "potato in a minefield" and "calzone stuffed with dynamite." Pretty sure my WoK has one of the Radiant ideals.
