    So. People at BYU go ALL OUT for Halloween. Every year I make sure to bring my good camera to campus on the 31st so I can take pictures of people's costumes, and since I only had one class yesterday I was able to spend most of the day just enjoying the festivity!     When you attend a Halloween party and these things happen, in this order: 1) You see someone dressed as Shallan and get her attention by saying, "Shallan Davar?!" 2) You see someone else dressed as a Mistborn and mention the Shallan you saw earlier while talking to him. 3) You see Shallan again and call her over to introduce her to the Mistborn.

    Costumes are my favorite part of Halloween, but I also enjoy handing out candy to the trick-or-treaters. I hope I get some at my apartment! This year I've thrown together an Edgar Allan Poe costume and will post pictures of myself wearing it when I get the chance.

    A friend recommended the Thursday Next series by Jasper Fforde to me, so I've been slowly working my way through those. I just started book 5, First Among Sequels, yesterday. These books are storming hilarious. So many inside jokes for book lovers!

    I went to a local park to look for milkweed seeds this evening, and I found a bunch! Milkweed is what monarch caterpillars eat, and my mom has been raising them this summer, so she asked me to get her some seeds of the kind of milkweed that grows in Utah but not where she lives in Ohio. So that was neat. And while I was at the park I got some nice photos of a kingfisher! I didn't have any good ones until now, because kingfishers aren't very cooperative: Usually they fly away as soon as you look at them, let alone put your camera up. But this one spent several minutes sitting on a little pier at a pond, diving off every once in a while to catch fish. 3 photos under the spoiler:
