  1. I would sincerely hope that they don't try to do each book as a single movie... There's too much information to push into a single movie unless it's VERY long... Although, I keep thinking that the "best" way to do Stormlight Archive is as an Anime movie set... but somehow I don't think that's what they're trying to do... I hope it doesn't end as a bust like the the WOT adaptations have been...
  2. I thought there was another person that Kaladin worked on that had a remarked "lack" of an accent... that's been identified as a possible Herald... (or is this the same one, and I just mis-understood...)
  3. I tend to wonder when Shallan will "realize" that Kaladin's the one who actually killed her brother Helaran...
  4. The master of mis-direction... I really wonder which supposition's are correct... and which are so far off base that Sanderson's laughing at our contemplation...
  5. I actually wondered something more about Rlain... I wonder if Rlain might end up being one of the "champions"... (might be a weird idea... but you never know with our author...)
  6. I half expected that the parents have either left Hearthstone after the boys didn't return - perhaps moving to Kharbranth, or Laral's been killed by some scheme by Roshone, or they're in prison on trumped up charges related to the Sphere's that were a "gift" by the previous city lord. I also expect that Kaladin will find Roshone in power, and will be treated rather badly, and might expose himself as a radiant to save himself. RAFO...
  7. This epigraph probably gives some insight...
  8. This one's worth the listen...
  9. After reading this section from Chapter 53 in TWOK "The lighteyes talk about honor. They spout empty claims about their nobility. Well, I’ve only known one man in my life who was a true man of honor. He was a surgeon who would help anyone, even those who hated him. Especially those who hated him. Well, we’re going to show Gaz, and Sadeas, Hashal, and any other sodden fool who cares to watch, what he taught me. Now go to work and stop complaining!” I wonder if Kaladin's next oath will begin something like: "I will protect even those who hate me...."
  10. This is really an awesome thread! Thank you for sharing!
  11. It's interesting if we have seen all of the heralds, several seem guilt ridden (why else become a slobbering drunk) I think that some of the original heralds will take up their blades and be restored as heralds before this series is complete. Some may be too far gone and someone new may stand in for the others.
  12. I think Rand Al'Thor actually might be a dustbringer... He may defend, but he gets midevil with balefire - that makes me think of the dustbringers...
  13. I like several of the characters... Though for the most part, Kaladin plays into the scene's that get my attention the most like - the Spear Kata... where Kaladin's being made fun of... taunted... and then he loses himself in the moment, remembering a number of people and he's going thorough a Kata that amazes everyone who see's it... including Teft... I also like when Teft pops off with his "Heralds above" comment about Kaladin fighting to hold the bridge head... where he's recalling that Stormlight doesn't grant skill, it just amplifies/perfects the person using it... Ironically, I like when Navani interrogates Kaladin about where her son is...
  14. Welcome... I liked it as well... and THAT is a different side of Dalinar...
  15. So, I'm uncertain if you guys have listened to this - perhaps it's already been posted, and I just missed it, but here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CMFx9hFkDzs
  16. I wonder if this would involve the blade being touched by a current KR... remember how the blade seemed to revive further (and scream at the shard bearer towards of the "full dis-advantage duel"...
  17. I'm guessing you guys mean "bonding" for wielding... and once the blade's bonded, my guess is that they can surge bind.
  18. I'd been thinking there was some level of possibility that several shard blade wounded guys in Bridge 4 would be healed with stormlight... assuming they can "learn" how to break the barrier - like Kaladin figured out...
  19. There's a point in Words of Radiance, where it appears that Syl see's Pattern, goes to investigate, but I don't remember anything coming from that. I'm surprised that the "bonded" spren don't seem to see one another... (or did I miss that?)
  20. Something like "It was the most Glorious thing he'd ever seen" or something like that...
  21. When Kaladin grabs the spear to run towards what seems like certain doom towards the end of TWOK - only to discover the gems in the Parshendi beards... followed closely by the saying the 2nd oath... When Dalinar breaks through and realizes the bridgemen were fighting... and that they weren't dead. When Kaladin and Shallan meet during the meeting after Szeth had attacked again. When Kaladin actually starts to work though the reasoning behind what his oaths actually meant, and why they were important. And actually figuring out how how important Elhokar actually is to Dalinar. When Kaladin says the 3rd oath. When Dalinar is floating down after being sent to the sky to die...
  22. While I know it's reversing the races, but I kind of like Jet Li for Szeth...
  23. However, we do know this... there's a variation in blades - no two blades are the same... no two coats of plate are the same... at least that's what I took away from Shallan using that as an excuse to "document" the various suits of plate and blades in camp... So you've got styles in play... whether from the main person/knight... or from the spren involved...
  24. When thinking about #2... I remember that Kaladin notes after saying the 2nd oath that he can use stormlight more effectively... I interpret that to mean it requires less to do the same thing... and I believe the effect was amplified after the 3rd oath was said... That being said, I wonder if after the 4th oath he will have the ability to "power" the armor because while he can consume/hold a significant amount, he won't "need" as much for other activities... Also, I tend to wonder if when the lesser spren are "alive" if they won't require as much stormlight power... Just a thought or two... I also find it interesting how Syl can shift her form/requirements as Kaladin needs/desires... and I wonder if that won't play a role with shard plate... dunno
  25. I think I'd actually like to read more from Lopen's point of view... Not as sure about Lift... but I'd ultimately work with that as well... with hopefully a little less "awesomeness".
