  1. No problem Kyne. I'll do some goose chasing. Elbereth, I recall it being stated that only one vote is enough for inducing tution reduction. ------------- "We're here, I guess?" Acaelus said, eyeing the windows of the inn. "Yup, this is it." Marcos replied. Fortunately for him, he'd seen the horse and four a few times on his way around the university. So, they hadn't been completely lost. Walking in ,they were greeted by warm air, sweet scents and calm music. "Woah", Marcos exclaimed. "This place is good! I'd not mind spending a few minutes here." "Perhaps we should return the book first?" "Yeah, good point." They approached the inn owner, and asked him whether there was a.... "Don't bother me right now. Dont you see I'm busy?" He said, clearly flustered by the flurry of orders from the various tables. "But we just want to know where this seve....." Acaelus was again cut off by the man. "Sev lives on the second floor. He's not here right now. Went storming off to find something." The owner said. "No! Its not Sev, its Seventh Son of Something!" Marcos said. "Hmmm, no such person here as far as I'm aware." "Well, in that case, thank you." With that, they turned to leave. On the doorstep though, Acaelus realised that, "Marcos! It is Sev we're looking for! Who would want to be called 'Seventh Son'? Instead, he shortened it to Sev!" Excited by their discovery, the pair headed in again. Upon asking the owner, they found that Sev had headed out searching for something, and was red in the face too. The owner guessed that he may have gone back to the university. "Let's go there then." Marcos said. EDIT: My autocorrect has been glitching. If you find words like 'secondition' or 'storment', please ignore them. @Maill, danosaur has posted. I'm too lazy to link his post, but his picture is of a very bright green 'danosaur'. He's posted last(?) turn.
  2. It's not that it's not most important, just that in all the discussing, killing sometimes gets sidetracked, or the person who is to put in the order says they'll do it in a bit, and then forgets. Anyways, I had been to Imre, but I did not buy assassins. They're 12 talents for me. Too expensive. Anyways, ---------- "Who exactly does the book belong to?" "Some Seventh Son of something. You know this person?" Marcos asked Acaelus. "Nope. I don't really know anyone here." Acaelus replied "Nevermind then. Judging by the cover, I'd guess this seventh son lives at The Horse and Four. What do you think?" Marcos asked Acaelus, showing him the book cover. "Yes, it does seem to be a nobleman's book." Acaelus said. "Let's get going then, shall we?"
  3. An idea occurred to Marcos! Perhaps he could make two friends in one go. He could offer this book of 'Seventh Son of R something or the other' to the newcomer to get him started in his pranks. But then, it also occurred to him that it could possibly get him on the horns, and not accomplish much for him. And, this 'archnemesis of kipper' would only be, predictably enough, interested solely in Kipper's belongings. "Hmmm... That was interesting, wasn't it, Acaelus? Fiends, I have a few here. As for friends though, they're the harder kind of fiends to acquire. So far, I haven't had much success. So, Dragonfire Chronicles, eh? I bet it's interesting." Acaelus' face had lit up a bit in the few seconds of speech. "Say, would you accompany me? I need to go give this fallen book to a nobleman, and I'd appreciate someone there to help me. I get a bad feeling he's going to lose his head..." ----- There. Loved the fiends part, but Hael beat me to it. So, Kyne, I'm taking you with me to wonko's character, hope you don't mind. Wonko, I totally forgot about the book part. Thanks for reminding me. Here I come!
  4. Marcos was up late in the library. Master Arithmetist had given them a lot of work in terms of assignment. The stale, damp air of the library felt suffocating to him. The current problem read -'Find all values of 'a' for which both roots of x^(2)+2(a+1)x+a-1=0 are positive. ' Sweat dribbling down his forehead distracted Marcos, making him lift his hand every two seconds. Just a few more steps... "Finally!" He exclaimed out loud before realising he was sitting in the library. A few angry scowls met his gaze, causing him to go back to work. Why is it that the very air feels hostile when you create a bit of noise? All heads had turned to him. All but one. Acaelus sat in his corner, reading another thick volume. He was engrossed in his books. I wonder what he'll say if I interrupt him this time.... . . (An hour later) . . After finishing his last problem, Marcos made his way up to Acaelus. "Hey there again Acaelus! How's it going? I was just wondering what your were reading. Don't you have any classes?"
  5. SUPERCALIFRAGYLISTICEXPEALIDOCIUSZ Special underdeveloped pickled everstorm raids cars at lions' institute for research. Anglicists go yearning, listing items, saying they intend checking epitomes, xeroxing pearls, eating and lying in difficult or creepily ideal, unique situational zebras. Woah. Of sense, that is devoid. Yet, of fun, you decide. RANDOMKJWBCIUHFKJVLKHSDBLHKABSFLASJDH
  6. Marcos was walking back from class. Linguistics had been fun. They'd learnt the different conjugations of verbs in Siaru today. But, it would take yet 3-4 lectures to wrap his head around these forms. So, with a head buzzing with ideas and confusion, Marcos walked back to The Golden Pony. On his way though, he found a book fallen on the ground. 'Property of Sev', the first page read. 'If found, return to owner of The Horse and Four'. Marcos opened the book and browsed through the pages. It was rough book. Both in the sense that it was a bit worn out, and that it was a spare book used as spare paper. No use wasting my time right now. This 'Sev' might not even be in his rooms I'll go later tonight. Perhaps then he'll be in. ------------ There you go Wonko, I've given you an opening. You could do an RP about losing the book or something.
  7. Marcos was taken aback. This Corrin, to him, seemed a very exhausted person. Wearing thin often split one at the seams. "Yes Corrin, you may enquire into the nature of my name. And, I'm now definitely convinced that we've not met before. Nice to make your acquaintance. I see you are in a hurry. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'll let you be on your way. Nice to meet you Corrin." It's fun to tease people! Marcos thought to himself. He hadn't done that in days. The trip to Imre had been amongst a dull crowd. Marcos just hoped he hadn't offended Corrin. But, the jibe was in itself a preliminary screening for his friends. If they didn't possess a sense of humor, then they were better left alone. All along, a female had been staring at the both of them. Marcos had seen her around the unversity. Her gaze had been a bit disconcerting.Marcos guessed that something about he both of them had ticked her off. He'd deal with her later. First, to see whether Corrin was good. ------------------
  8. "That hadn't gone too well." Marcos thought to himself as recalled his brief encounter with Acaelus. Perhaps I should approach Acaelus later. When he's not being absorbed by the book. It really had seemed like rather than Acaelus reading the book, the book had been devouring him. In any case, Marcos was still determined to make some friends. So far out into the term, he hadn't had any friend really. Just the inn owner of the golden pony. He'd seemed a nice person. So, Marcos was going to go to the library that evening. But, first, he had to get to Master Hemme's class. Fortunately for Marcos, the Master was always favouring him. If he was a few minutes late, or his assignment incomplete, or something else, Hemme would just let Marcos go. He didn't know yet why, but Marcos intended to take full advantage of that. Going over excuses in his head, Marcos rushed to the rhetoric and logic class. Hemme eyed him for a few seconds, and then ordered him to be seated. Everyone knew how favoured Marcos was. But, nonetheless, a latecomer who avoided punishments in Hemme's class was still something to gossip about. *a while later* The class was finally over. Today's had been about good posturing and eye contact. On his way to the library, Marcos bumped into a stranger. He seemed to be a student by Marcos' approximation. "Hey there!" Marcos said with ostentatious confidence, trying to maintain eye contact. "Have we met before?" EDIT: fixed time line. -------------------------- There you go Lopen. And Kynedath, no offense, but I couldn't really think of what Marcos would have said to that other than awkwardly stopping the conversation.
  9. Marcos woke to this chill of the morning biting his skin. "What time is it?" He groaned. Slowly, he got out of bed, and stumbled to the window. Fortunately, Marcos had woken up on time. The sun was just rising, and Marcos had decided to rise with it. In the window shutter, a paper had been jammed. Pulling it free, Marcos realised it was from Pyra. Ugh! I've gotta stop talking privately to people. It'll affect my grades! Heading to the sortable, Marcos found himself thinking - What a marvelous place the Golden Pony is! I've even got my own work table. Marcos picked up his timetable sheet he had collected the other day. "I really should have learnt this by now. So, what do i have today? Ooh! Nothing for the first half of the day. Perhaps I'll go to the library?" And so, Marcos set off to go to the library. Marcos had been to the library a fair number of times. So, he generally knew his way around the place. Fortunately for him, he didn't mind being barred from the stacks. The arcane was of not much interest to him. Finally, he got the to library. "One lamp please." He said to the clerk. Accepting the offered lamp, he started wandering into the stacks. what are these lamps called? Something about being emotional. But what are they called? I just can't remember. Slowly, he made his way around the shelves, collecting a book from here. One from there. Really, all he looked for was interesting names. This was his leisure time, and he wanted to enjoy it. Suddenly, Marcos found another person sitting in a corner, surrounded by books. "Hey there! What's your name?" EDIT : fixed autocorrect. ----------- Kynedath, I'm talking to you. If you don't mind RP collaborations, please continue. Thanks Also, to the people concerned, if I don't respond in PMs, it's because of my PM - thread ratio. (Anybody get the 'emotional lamps' part?)
