  1. @Llarimar Pretty sure Bavadin first came up in Hoids first Letter in WoK, along with Rayse. There are some very old WoBs where Brandon mentions it too. He is very fond of her.
  2. Nearby, a person in charge of something important gathered a strike force to deal with the ghanderflaffle.
  3. So... does he get to pick a new champion then?
  4. I doubt this. SA4 is supposed to play out about a year after OB (ish) and I don’t think Odium kills Nale off-screen.
  5. Are beavers the most magnificient creatures on earth?
  6. The fact that Enzo had sneezed just as he was pronouncing Butts middle name made Butt very enraged.
  7. Nale and the Skybreakers are a somewhat uncertain part of the story at the moment. Nale sideswitched to the Voidbringers at the end of OB (but still promised to train Szeth). The question is, will all other Skybreakers follow him? Or will some choose to stand with humanity? In that case, Szeth might wind up being a natural leader for them, something he might not be ready for. Another point to discuss is Nale, and the Skybreakers who went with him. Did the swear to Odium, or just to the Listeners? Meaning, do they act as a third party group who supports the Listeners/Prshendi/Voidbringers or are they actually Team Odium now?
  8. When Enzo stepped back in horror, he accidentally stepped on the Lord Ruler, who became crushed under his foot, jusst as he was building his ant empire.
  9. It does, and that is a good explanation for the absence (pretty sure I spelled that word wrong) of people like Mraize or Nale. But the Sadeas plot doesn´t fall in that cathegory. And if we had some Amaram POVs that explained his reasoning and maybe made him a bit more symphatetic, the ending would have worked better, and would have felt a lot stronger.
  10. I think it might have to do with his wish to avoid broadening the story as much as Jordan and GRRM has done woth their story. He has always tried to keep his characters in the same geographical zones, and avoids spreading them out. The story becomes more focused as a result of this, but also a bit more frustrating for some, since a lot of characters or places gets less space. For this book, Brandon clearly wished to focus on the characters of Dalinar and Shallan, as well as the Kholinar, Shadesmar and Rosharan Alliance story arcs. This meant that some things, such as the internal Alethis politics, and a bunch of Secret Societies didn’t get a lot of time to appear. Personally, I think balance is a problem with Oathbringer. Would I have chopped away a little of the time in Shadesmar to give more meat to the Sadeas murder story? Yes. Would I have sacrificed one or two Bridge 4 POVs for an Amaram POV? Yup. I do like Oathbringer, and a lot of the arcs and things we got were great (Dalinars story is and will forever be fantastic), but a few mistakes, like the Sadeas murder or Amarams development, are weaknesses, that could have been fixed. If they were, I feel like the book would come off a lot stronger.
  11. Ome of the problems with Oathbringer is how it manages to stay relatively small-scale despite being big-scale. There are so much we should have gotten more of: Amarams conversion to Odium, Sadeas murder, Nale deciding to help the Voidbringers, the Irali-Voidbringer alliance, the Ghostbloods, and so on. Instead we basically only got the Urithiru team, Moash, Bridge 4, Szeth, Lift, Mr T and Venli.
  12. TLR decided to start enslaving ants instead of skaa. He thought it was best to pick on someone his own size.
  13. Has anyone ever thought about that Dalinar maybe just said ”I am Unity” because it sounds cool? And that it doesnt have any Cosmere implications.
  14. He would also be far to expensive for a show like Stormlight. Speaking of expensive, Paul Bettany would make a great Axies.
  15. There is the Ash will be Dustbringer theory as well, which I believe. It was hinted at in OB, so I think Ash will become a Dustbringer. I can see Taln becoming a KR as well.
  16. Yeah, he has been plannong stuff for Kelsier for a long time. There would be a certain irony in it too, since Kelsier was the ultimate hero in the first trilogy, and then becomes the villain.
  17. I don’t know most of the actors you suggested, but I think Cooper could do Kell.
  18. I made a theory about it being Kelsier once. I don’t know if I believe it myself, but it is a possibility.
  19. Another MCU thread! In light of the fact that we don’t know anything of the MCU after 2019, its time to speculate! Which characters should be introduced? Which actors? Personally, I love the idea of Orlando Bloom joining, as Captain Britain, something he has suggested himself. Anyone else having any ideas? Also, lets spoiler tag spoilers for Infinity War, to be on the safe side.
  20. @Llarimar I agree, and Rlain is based on the idea that he does become a Parsh leader. I can’t see Rysn at all though. Where was she suggested? Another potential Bondsmith could be Rock. He might end up king of the Horneaters and thus a leader. This would probably interfere with his path as a Windrunner though. I do think that Rock would be a better fit for Bondsmith than
  21. Spoilers for the Han Solo movie:
  22. Autocorrect is the greatest enemy of all fandoms. Which is why I have turned mine off.
  23. The thing with Navani as a Bondsmith is: what would it add to the story? Uniting? No, we already have a unification guy, in Dalinar. Building? I guess, but does she need to be a Bondsmith to do that? The problem with having Navani as a Bondsmith, as I see it, is that it results in us having two Bondsmiths with the exact same agenda, the same last name, at the same place. The idea of someone like Mr T works so much better because he feels different from Dalinar in a lot of ways. Navani doesn’t. She feels more like an extension of Dalinar. I would vastly prefer someone who was different from him. Someone like Rlain (as another recent theory proposed), Taravangian etc.
