I actually wanted to know if anyone was playing the new pokemon game on switch. I wanted to hear their impressions of it.

The dissapointment of the movie is def running high. But, if its done well, I think it could be a great show. So I'm...cautiously interested. I do want more stuff in that universe, but I don't want more like the movie.

Well...ok then. Don't say I didn't warn you all. I'm still going to put them in spoiler tags, just in case.
SpoilerMy biggest gripe at the moment is how willing people are willing to give up their rights to feel safe. Not just their right to bear arms, though that too. I mean how they're willing to allow companies to control what they can see. It really bothers me. I'm metting with congressional reps to try and stop this from happening. And most just shrug and say 'we lost already'. But I'm like 'we can still do this!'. It also bothers me how people just shout eachother down instead of listening. Saying someone's opinions aren't valid simply because they disagree with them.
Also, it bothers me how people just blame inanimate objects for crimes. yes, I'm referring to guns. By that same logic, pens cause misspellings. Its the inanimate objects fault, not the person using it. And every time I dig into the data, I see that guns do so much more good then harm when wielded by the average citizen. But all the media reports on, are the mass shootings. So much so, that alot of people think thats the only thing guns do. But I see the data that shows the exact opposite. Hell, there's even a site dedicated to showing the pure data. Not altered or changed in any way. And that data shows the same thing. (crime research dot org btw).

Interesting topic idea! I have a few dislikes myself, but I'm a little worried to state them. They are kinda hot button topics, and I don't want to put anyone off.
So, can I post these topics? Maybe in a spoiler or something?

Interesting. I, to, am a huge fan of supernatural. I just couldn't imagine it being real in anyway.
Remember that episode when they came to our world? Favorite episode right there.

You could also try using a different browser all together. I prefer firefox, but there are others out there.

A little depressing, but I think they're important rules to know and understand.

No idea myself, that's something you'd have to do your homework on. I know it exists, but not much else.
Also: see here about that specific flavor: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ubuntu_Touch. It doesn't run on everything out of the box.
As for drivers, I would ask your device manufacturer. Or you might need to write your own.
Sorry I can't be of much help on this front. Have you asked around the internet? Forums for Linux users, or forums for DIY guys, Engineering sites, ect. I can't give you a specific one, because I don't know your needs.
If you do manage to pull it off, def come back and let us know though. I'd be interested to hear about the final product.

Hey man, its your device. Don't let anyone give you issues for doing what you want with it.
As for help, I don't know much about putting an new OS on a tablet yet. I do know you need to have access to the boot loader, then tell the boot loader to look for the OS files in a new location. But you've figured that part out already it seems.
My issue is, I don't really have an old tablet that still functions. I tend to use them till they are, quite literally, falling apart. Then smash them and toss them.
I do know, Ubuntu has an older mobile version floating around out there. Maybe you could try to get that running on your device? Or are you firmly set on debian?
You might need new drivers for the image you choose. The one time I did my homework on that, I needed to download the non-compiled files, then add the drivers I wanted to use to the driver files the OS had, before re-compiling the OS in question. My boss at the time, didn't want me spending that long on the project in question, and just canceled the contract.

'a man chooses, a slave obeys'. Not a fan of the piece of media where its from, but I do like the quote.

I am reading:
Book 3, in the empire of bones saga. Its...interesting. Not a huge fan of how they handle human implantation of technology, and slavery. Its very clear the author doesn't quite know how to write. But I'm definitely seeing improvements as he writes.
Not sure I'm going to continue with the series after this novel though. Entirely because of the narrator. She doesn't have this wide range of voices to draw on, and can't quite emote with those voices. The princess sounds enternally happy, or miserable. With no in-between. But...we'll see. The story has me here since the beginning, so I might try.

I really want to get a VR headset. Personally I would go with an oculus rift, but thats just me.
Its just so ... expensive. That and I have no place to actually use it. No free rooms I can make into a VR room.

I do kinda feel like it ruined some of his mystique. But for me, overall, it wasn't terrible.
Though I do wish we got to see his time in the academy.
It was no where near as much of a train wreck as the reviews made it out to be. IMO ofc.

I've just started the rain. Man that show is awesome

ok, so I tried to stick with the series. I bought the second book, and got up to just after rand is told he's the dragon reborn. But...I just can't continue with it.
Moraine's handling of telling him he's the dragon, and just the manipulation are really bothering me. So much so, I'm actually being put in a bad mood irl over it.
Not sure what I'm going to read next tbh, but I don't think it'll be this book.

I did, after the events of the dresden files changes. I had to step away from that series for like 3 months. After that, I was able to come back to it. But it was a struggle.

I think I got 2 hours of sleep last night. Now I need to work a normal 12 hour shift, on that.

When people think that anyone who disagrees with them is either an idiot, evil, or being influenced by the devil.
Last night, I was watching the news with my parents out in the living room and some story came on about kids who survived the Parkland shooting coming to Texas and promoting changes to gun laws. My mom said something along the lines of, "I'm scared for the future, because half of the millions of kids out there have no idea what they're doing."
I so wanted to call her out on her BS and ask if she meant the liberal half of kids.
She could have meant the half of kids that don't agree with those who survived that shooting.
Though, I actually agree with your mom here ... it really is a little scary.

Sorry I am late to this. I don’t think I have any mental disorder except maybe a mild form of depression. Not sure, never been diagnosed or felt what it would be like to have worse.
Anyway, I want to add my support to this and anyone with any form of mental illness. I think that all things like this, to raise awareness for things that cause others to have difficult lives, are awesome things to do.
I would like to add, that its not a bad idea to go see a therapist about even a mild form of depression. Its like going to see a doctor about a new pain in your body. They will probobly see you for a few sessions, say your fine, and call it a day.

I really enjoyed the book "The Great Gatsby", and the movie adaptation with Leonardo DiCaprio. I felt it really did the book justice.
