  1. Hey, Feather. I was wondering, when you edit the episodes, do you actually go in and cut out the silent parts manually? Because Audacity has a Remove Silence feature, and it's free.
  2. Vivenna - Gugu Mbatha-Raw Siri - Alexandra Shipp Vasher - Sean Bean Nightblood - Iwan Rheon Susebron - Josh Hutcherson Lightsong - Domhnall Gleeson Bluefingers - Simon Pegg
  3. Honestly, I don't expect anything earth-shattering. I think the general plan for the next few years he posted last year (Apocalypse Guard, then Rithmatist 2, then Mistborn: The Lost Metal, then Stormlight 4) will still be his plan going forward, and the far off stuff like Nightblood, etc. will still be put in the future development category with no projected release dates. Then again, it is Sanderson, so maybe he'll tease a mystery novella, or confirm White Sand vol. 2 for 2017.
  4. I'm getting strong Kaladin vibes from the trailer to Hacksaw Ridge. Obviously Kaladin has less of a no-killing policy, but the whole "I'll save as many people as I can" thing reminds me of him.
  5. I mean, not really. I think being confused and thinking things are other things is part of the Stormlight experience.
  6. If they go the anime route, I hope it's heavily Westernized; as in: realistic and subtle portrayal of emotions (rather than shouting every single line and over-the-top emoting), smooth animation (none of that jerky, low frame-rate stuff that plagues most anime), no weirdness that isn't original Sanderson weirdness thrown in to appease fans of Japanese anime. Also, give it 45 minute to hour long episodes, market it as an adult fantasy drama, and put it on Netflix.
  7. Sazed: For the Widows in Paradise - Sufjan Stevens
  8. For trailer music, I would pick Death is the Road to Awe by Clint Mansell. Particularly this part.
  9. Okay, thanks! Yeah, I've seen Seasons 1-5, so that shouldn't be a problem.
  10. So, I'm planning on using HBO Now to watch Season 6 of Game of Thrones once the season is fully out, and I've been avoiding spoilers. I'm probably going to start a free trial month pretty soon to re-watch the previous seasons, but I was wondering: Are there any Netflix-style still pictures from the episode that pop up before the episode begins, potentially spoiling the plot? Are there any unprompted video ads for GOT episodes on the HBO Now front page? Or even links to the "most recent episode" in the form of still pictures? Once I click on the GOT button, is it easy to navigate to earlier seasons without having to see Season 6 material? This may seem paranoid, but I've been unspoiled so far, and I plan to keep it that way! And yes, I'm posting this here because I trust Sanderfans way more than GRRM fans when it comes to spoilers.
  11. Any Steel Inquisitor: "Foriegn Object" by The Mountain Goats: https://youtu.be/_R4GwPenuwE I couldn't resist.
  12. I'm now leaning more towards Anna Paquin as Steris (as opposed to my previous choice of Alice Eve).
  13. Yep, it's even up for pre-order: Link
  14. Wayne - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LWrtLX8yWso
  15. This isn't really a spoiler for Secret History (it doesn't deal with anything plot-related, just real world details), but I'll still spoiler tag it just in case.
  16. Kelsier knew he took a Lerasium bead (and therefore could have full Mistborn powers), and he had proven dangerous. That seems like enough of a reason to steer Vin away from him.
  17. Who am I kidding? Brandon's always busy.
  18. The Final Empire Vin - I'm least sure about her, since I want someone age-appropriate (i.e. not Ellen Page) and not too typecasty (i.e. not Maisie Williams). So right now I'm leaning towards Anya Taylor-Joy or some completely unknown Daisy-Ridley-esque person out of nowhere. Kelsier - Nikolaj Coster-Waldau Sazed - Hugh Dancy (I think I had him as Wax in another thread, but I realize I'd much prefer him in this role) Dockson - Scoot McNairy Breeze - James Nesbitt Ham - Samuel Anderson (impressed me on Doctor Who) Clubs - Peter Capaldi Spook - Asa Butterfield Straff Venture - Liam Neeson (Despite being menacing as hell, we don't get to see him play the villain a lot) Elend Venture - Joe Dempsie (at the risk of turning this into another GOT themed list. Only a couple more, I promise.) Marsh - David Tennant "Renoux" - Stephen Fry Shan Elariel - Gemma Arterton Alendi (flashback) - Richard Armitage The Lord Ruler - Tom Hardy Hoid - Aiden Gillen The Well of Ascension Cett - Brendan Gleeson Zane - Taron Egerton Tensoon - Andy Serkis Tindwyl - Jennifer Connelly Allrianne - Sophie Cookson Ruin - Patrick Stewart The Hero of Ages Yomen - Michael McElhatton KanPaar - Mads Mikkelson MeeLan - Rosabel Laurenti Sellers The Citizen - Thomas M. Wright
  19. Imperium - Robert Harris Needed to take a bit of a fantasy break after my first complete read-through of the Cosmere, and this is one of my favorite books.
  20. I know people don't really look upon the Inheritance Cycle very highly, but it was probably the first fantasy series I read where the magic seemed like it had rules and limitations and seemed like there was a kind of natural science behind it.
  21. I'll probably post more casting ideas for other books when I have the time (since it's something I think about with pretty much any book I read), but I'll do Alloy of Law, since I've recently read it for the first time, and it's fresh in my mind. Waxillium - Hugh Dancy Wayne - Dominic Monaghan Marasi - Kaya Scodelario Steris - Alice Eve Miles - Wes Bentley Ranette - Natalia Tena "Mister Suit" - John Rhys-Davies
