  1. I think Dalinar will take up the shard of Unity. The shard of Honor was shattered and in that shattering I think it coalesces back around someone who imbodies the original intent. However since it is being reformed within that individual the shard is also remade more in that persons character. Meaning that the shattered shard that was Honor is distilling into Dalinar as the shard Unity shaped by Dalinar's character.
  2. It's totally just going to be "I will protect myself"
  3. Just finished the two Stormlight books for the second time. The way both Zahel and Kaladin see potential in him, plus he is a surgebinder, plus he is smart, and finally he wants to help so bad. Its not a theory just my prediction. This kid is going to be a gangster.
  4. During one of dalinar's visions he keeps remarking on how the radiants helmets keep appearing and disappearing. This indicates to me that just as a nahel bonded shardblade can appear and disappear or be formed in different ways the shardplate is also just a manifestation of spren.
  5. Primary Power: Precognition Secondary Power: Healing Tertiary Power: Speed Weakness: Loss of loved ones Name: True Freedom
  6. Truthlight come on dude
  7. Prof's powers from The Reckoners. The ability to heal almost instantly, create and manipulate force fields, and destroy or carve solid objects.
  8. Let's say someone with knowledge of hemalurgy traveled to Roshar. Would it be possible to use hemalurgy to steal the powers of all ten orders of the Knights Radiant?
  9. I've been reading through the Coppermind wiki and I haven't found any explanation for the conspicuous lack of actual full Mistborn in the second trilogy. Does anyone have an explanation?
  10. I finished Warbreaker and am now reading Elantris. This plague goes back further than I would have anticipated. Even the Elantrians of Sel seem to be infected by the snorting!
  11. If I read everything correctly Vin and Sazed's bodies were both vaporized when they took up their respective shards and ascended. Is this an effect of all shards? Are all shardholders without physical form? And if so what does this say about the effects of holding a shard on a person's existence within the three realms? Does becoming a shardholder grant more presence in the other two realms at the expense of the physical? Finally are there any known shardholders that were able to maintain a manifest physical body while holding a shard?
  12. Raises an eyebrow and nods slowly.
  13. Did you worldhop here to spread the snorting plague?
  14. I have now finished both stormlight books, the first mistborn trilogy, and am currently reading warbreaker... By the forgotten gods! Why is everyone in the cosmere snorting all the damnation time! It's used as a sort of scoff or sneer. After reading it so many times I thought to myself, what exactly is a snort? As I understand it its sort of like a a deep sucking of mucus from the back of your throat. If there is any proof that all the humans of the cosmere are somewhat genetically related it has to be the universal use of snorting to express yourself. These poor people need one of the shareholders of the cosmere to cure them all of their profuse mucus problem! The problem is so rampant I doubt even Harmony has the power to do anything about it. Think about it. When you disagree with someone do you snort? I don't. Maybe grunt or smirk... Maybe give a curt little, "ya okay pal!" The snorts must be stopped before the combined snorting of the people of the cosmere brings forth the mucus everstorm and the last final and true snorting desolation!
  15. The reason that each of the KR orders have two types of surge-binding is because one comes from Honor and one from Cultivation. That is my thought. If I had to guess the Windrunner power of Adhesion is of Cultivation and Gravitation is of Honor.
  16. It's been very interesting to me too! Under the original conditions I stated that both the Windrunner and the Mistborn have infinite supply of stormlight/metal. What I meant by that is that for whatever reason they do not need to resupply. As in the Windrunner never needs to draw in more stormlight and the Mistborn never needs to ingest more metal. I think now this would mean the Mistborn would win the majority of the time. The Mistborn just has way too much raw power at their disposal. Consider this: The Mistborn has infinite atium, pewter, and duralamin. This means they could flair all three metals without stopping. Meaning they have ridiculous amounts of physical strength, hardiness, and of course future-sight. Even with healing, lashings, and shardblades I cannot see a way that the Windrunner can possibly win. My bias is for the Windrunner to win but I don't see how that could be possible. Let's change the rules a little bit. Let's say that both the Windrunner and the Mistborn have full awareness of how the other person's power works. This means that the Mistborn knows the Windrunner can basically fly and heal from wounds quickly. The Windrunner also knows that the Mistborn can pack a serious punch and see the future. Under these conditions does anything change? If I had to guess I would say that a Mistborn's powers would have no effect on shardplate or shardblade. Also I don't think Atium would be able to see the movement/formations/re-formations of shardblades. The Atium would be able to see the changes in the Windrunner's posture however. So even though it is unlikely they could see the weapon in the future itself they could see the Windrunner's telegraphed body movements. I still think the Mistborn would probably win, however its also possible that we do not yet know the full power of a Windrunner. Perhaps a full Windrunner is close to the power of Jezrien himself. Could a full-Mistborn beat Jezrien?
  17. That's a really good point. I would like to add to it a little (philosophically) if that's alright. Nature has produced dramatically more impressive technology both in scope and complexity (stars, galaxies, life itself) than people ever have. However your point about human technology is really unique in its intent. People make technology for highly specific purposes. This allows them to be potent beyond the elements that comprise them. Nightblood is what happens when the amazing power of nature is harnessed by intelligence for a specific purpose. Yes a shard is more powerful than Nightblood in the way that a mountain is more powerful than a chisel, but the chisel was designed to puncture the mountain.
  18. For clarification a lashing is usually a multiplier of gravity correct? As in you are just changing the origin of gravity and its strength yes? So if you were to lash someone to the sky they would fly up at the same speed they would normally fall. However if you double-lashed them to the sky they would fly upwards at twice the normal fall-rate. Is this correct? Also is there a limit to the number of lashings you can apply to the same object? With this in mind which is stronger? A duralimin enhanced push or a multiple lashed object? Do we have any quantitative numbers on this? That's it for my twenty questions. I really wish we had Shallan or Sazed here to study this.
  19. Alright but it can't be worse than Rock's dung stew.
  20. You don't have to necessarily touch something to lash it. For instance Kaladin pulled all of those arrows without touching them. Yes he touched the shield but he was still able to manipulate all those other things by lashing the shield.
  21. As I understand Atium it allows you to see your opponents next move and react to it quickly. However if someone's next move is something you have no ability to defend against or react to wouldn't that mean the Atium is essentially nullified. As you pointed out above. The Windrunner could simply last the Mistborn to the sky and they would fly upwards. They could try to use a coin to anchor but the Windrunner could lash that upwards as well. Is there any ability a Mistborn has that would save them from being lashed up a thousand feet and then being lashed down to their deaths with no anchors?
  22. I accept your cookie and raise you one frothy stout beer.
  23. That's a good point a Mistborn would need an anchor and a Windrunner could simply lash the anchor into the sky as well. Which would only accelerate the Mistborn's upward flight. That still doesn't get around the Atium problem though. How can you defeat an opponent who can see your next move? Although I suppose if the "next move" involves getting yourself thrown skyward maybe it doesn't matter. And then the shardblade... as I understand it an allomancer would not be able to directly manipulate the blade.
  24. Thank you and what a wonderful username you secured gancho!
  25. A friend recommended him over 2 years ago. Then I recently had to go on a long road trip. So I got the Way of Kings on Audible. Hooked. I have read both of the current Stormlight books, The Final Empire, and am currently on chapter 14 of The Well of Ascension. After I finish this book I will be going back to just listening to audiobooks. Partially because I just enjoy them in that format but mostly because I don't want to finish everything in the cosmere before Stormlight 3 comes out.
