  1. Of course, Our illustrious GM was lynched day one his first game... but we'll try not to do that
  2. Thank you ----------------- More relevant conversations. Analysis of moneys. Since there is an unlimited number of murder actions, it isn't especially a race to get the gun. I have little doubt at least one elim will do nothing except save money. If the elims started with ten deo, they can get a murder on night four. If there are four elims and three of them started with ten deo, the fourth will submit the kills while the other three prepare for the night four massacre. I had considered not putting this information out here, but I have a high enough opinion of the rest of you to believe that the elims have already realized this possibility. Can I recommend those of you with a mind to survive save up and hire a mercenary bodyguard on either the fourth or fifth night? That way they don't get around our brilliant counterstrategy by just waiting until turn five to use their extra kills.
  3. Cool. Just to be sure, If I stole from Wilson and Elbereth, I would know I got the Embargo from Wilson and the Noble insignia from Elbereth?
  4. Thank you --------------------------------- Here's an interesting question to get things going: What is everyone's thoughts on Noble insignias? Should we assume anyone in possession has a vested interest in staying alive and is therefore a traitor? That would make the thief role have an extra function in helping us out elims. @Kynedath, do burglars know from whom they stole what when they unlock their second target action? What? no I'm not just asking questions of the GMs to ensure someone posts so I can post again. Why would you think that?! To answer my own question I think a noble insignia is an appropriate and maybe necessary purchase for every member of the village. I know there are more of us than of them, but it may be the difference between a good catch and a mislynch. I am happy to hear someone disagree with me.
  5. Lenkai hefted a rock. It was a little larger than the hand he held it in and probably weighed a full measure and a half. Pretty dense for a rock that size. This would do nicely. A man taken in rebellion against the government was not a man welcome in the new city of Kae. He hurled the rock at the perpetrator. It glanced off the mans head with a satisfying thud and he began to bleed from his right temple. Lenkai found another workable stone, but before he could throw it, the guards showed up. Early. He had meant to teach the man a lesson before he was hauled off to prison. Oh well. It wasn't wise to stay. Lenkai merged back into the crowd. The bustle was a great ally. He watched joyfully as the dissident was hauled off. -------------------------------- Now that the important stuff is done, I have a couple more rule clarifications if you don't mind @Kynedath and @Zillah Do items stack? Like could I use three insignias or trade rights in one turn? Can an embargo (or other role block) block the use of items or only actions? If it blocks an item, is the item still used? Will we be able to tell the difference between the elim kill and a murder? Can we buy out an item or contract or are all options always available (if at possibly different prices).
  6. Thank you for the reminder. I'll bring back Lenkai from QF 43. He didn't really get a fair shake then, so here is his chance to be more than a redshirt. True to his name, he has committed himself to serene wisdom. After years of solitude and study, he has realized that true wisdom is in self preservation. For how could anyone benefit from his powers if he were not present? Pray his wisdom is on your side. Given playing wisely isn't typically my strong suit, I will try to be clever and stable with my playstyle for the sake of Lenkai... but you know when chaos comes calling me... I may defect. sorry. Anyway, if my playstyle changes drastically from the last game (or even from one cycle to the next) it's because I'm trying to be good for Lenkai. I too am very excited. Thank you for running this game!
  7. I'll sign up. Character to come
  8. One more question on this. If Experience and I target each other on the same cycle, whose max does the PM count against or is it both of us?
  9. Here come the next few questions Given the OOA, is it the case that I may purchase an item only to have it stolen before I have been told I am successful in purchasing it? With the actor, It says if the action is redirected away from the actor via the actor's ability, the income is not lost. What if the action is redirected to the actor by the same means? Or is it that any action targeting the actor loses the person their income unless the actor used their ability? Making sure I understand more than actually asking: All actions are night actions. Items are not actions and can be used whenever. Contracts are spicy. With nine different roles and only two that are unique, it is likely everyone will have some kind of role with the basic villagers being socialites. If I add any more, I'm headed for actual strategizing and I should figure out what team I'm on before I do any of that.
  10. Cool Game! so many rules. To be perfectly clear: Does the adjudicator death trigger only apply if she is night killed and not if she is lynched? Once PMs are opened, if I target say Matrim and he targets me on the same turn to create a PM, would we now be in two separate PMs and therefore capped? I would guess we are both charged our action, but as a benevolent god, would you combine the requests so we may still talk with other people? For a conference to happen, does the "majority vote" mean at least fifty percent of players lynch a target, at least fifty percent of voters agree on a target, or a number of voters vote for one player that is more than the number of voters voting for another player? Oor, does it mean the majority of players vote to open PMs? I'll have more, but while your here, here are three questions
  11. You know I'm in. Now to go read the rules and come up with an appropriate character
  12. Well played. I considered bluffing that I got the two-vote ability, but since we are being honest with one another I will confess to using survival on you. It was a last attempt to fix my mistake. I had Ashbringer greened out for fifteen minutes as I watched the timer tick down. Now it's in the hands of luck again
  13. Yeah I guess it figures. Was I too obvious what my action was or did you have some other reason for keeping me alive over Pyro? Illwei @Illwei Sorry for losing the game over my pride everyone.
  14. Or maybe I tie the two of you together. Except at that point this thread kind of works as your PM anyway. Same goes for me and the whichever of you lives as well, but at least then I get to be part of it.
  15. Help me out. Which of you is going to be still alive tomorrow? I've already made PMs with two dead people and I don't want to miss.
  16. I also could have gotten Narcotics > Coercion > Elkanah. That way at least I don't die. Plus then I can make Elkanah stop choosing stupid things. Don't say that. Okay elim you win. Go ahead and come out and troll us for the last night. That is fair. I watched the time tick to rollover hovering over my retraction. Sorry Ashbringer.
  17. ?? no. I believe Illwei is. The gods of luck did not kill the elim among the two, hence my luck didn't carry through. That would've been great! how would my luck have run out then? You kill me, I kill you and Village wins because Pyro is alive EDIT I see. I missed that you were saying I was targeting myself. That would be so funny! I wish I had narcotics again. There's a crazy chance I target myself now that we're down to three
  18. Dang it! GG Illwei. I guess my luck ran out
  19. Ok, but would you do that now? on the brink of victory? I might just leave it as a tie. The gods of luck and chance have blessed me abundantly this game with gifts of narcotics and coercion. Maybe I just leave it in their hands.
  20. My very best indicator that Pyro is not the last elim is that he had no reason to dispute our lynch of Ashbringer. He could have just said "yeah I agree that Ashbringer is bad" and voted and the game would have been over. He has a lot more urgency and has put in much more effort than an elim would have to. Sorry, I had an old friend stop by. Nope and that's really fine with me. My next unread topic says "round three: heating up" and That really fits right here
  21. Yeah you did, and Kynedath being willing to go after Ashbringer is a pretty solid point. So either Kynedath was bussing Ashbringer or Illwei was bussing Vapor and Experience. That's a pretty level playing field. As a side note, why did the elims kill Elandera? She was openly defending Kynedath. @Ashbringer, @Illwei, I'm mostly looking to the elim of the two to answer. huh. It won't let me tag Illwei.
  22. I thought it was that Kynedath was willing to bus you Edit: Oh, followed the link. I see
  23. GG Illwei if you got me. I really didn't think you had it in you to bus every teammate. This post is weird. not in the Oooh he's an elim way, but in the how are you so certain Ash is good way. I don't know why elim Pyro would be defending Ashbringer right now. So I'm inclined to trust you. The thing is one of us is very wrong. Either my trust of Illwei is misplaced or your trust of Ashbringer. To be clear, when you say no reason to reveal, are you talking about revealing that kills are submitted independent of actions? Or did I miss something somewhere else? Honestly at the start of the cycle I was willing to lynch you or Ashbringer and Ashbringer made more sense. He does even more so after this post. If I am to trust you, though, I will take a hard look at Illwei. I'm not saying I'm going to or not going to move my vote. Just that I'm willing to give it another look
  24. I got survival and didn't use it... I really don't know which of you it is. I still don't think Illwei would have bussed Vapor and Experience the way he did. And I trust Pyro and Ash for about the same reasons. I'll vote Ashbringer @Ashbringer. Your defense of Kynedath is the only suspicious thing I can think of off the top of my head.
