  1. I mean, there's no dialogue or anything like that so there's not too much you can get spoiled on by visuals alone. Like I mentioned there's a bit more of an impact if you've finished Hajimari first because you'll recognize some characters who don't appear beforehand but there's only one thing in it that could even be tenuously called a visual spoiler and I don't really think it counts.
  2. Nahhh, like I said the Hajimari stuff isn't something you'd recognize until you've beaten it.
  3. We don't know for certain that what the Sleepless claim about the Dawnshards being used to create all things is in fact the case, we only know that they believe it to be the case. But even accepting for purposes of argument that the belief is accurate, all things in the Cosmere =/= all of existence.
  4. Uhhhh, probably not a bad idea. There's some stuff in the teaser that won't directly spoil you on plot (in fact you won't even know what it is if you go in blind) but it's stuff that first shows up in Hajimari so the effect works better if you finish Haji first.
  5. The Kuro teaser video just dropped and it is storming awesome! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M4w53fPGHck
  6. You need to back this one up a step though, because we don't know for a fact that Adonalsium 'created all of existence', only that people believe he did. Brandon has been deliberately ambiguous on this topic just as he has about the existence or non-existence of the (God) Beyond and we know those are things he's never going to resolve. At most, we know for certainty that Adonalsium created the Rosharan System but that doesn't necessarily make him what Jasnah would consider a God or worthy of worship.
  7. In this WoB Brandon tells us that a planet completely scoured of life will eventually vanish from the Cognitive Realm even if the corresponding Physical planet is still there, though by implication if people elsewhere were aware the planet existed there might be a tiny region left representing it. If the planet were destroyed completely, it's corresponding space would eventually vanish entirely from the Cognitive Realm since there wouldn't be anything left for anyone to think about.
  8. Malen and femalen are asexual so singers of those genders generally don't reproduce (or have any interest in doing so) but when they take on forms that are sexually active they become male/female respectively. Mateform is one that's specialized for that purpose but it's not the only one capable of having children. Since most singer forms are asexual, being male/female is the exception rather than the rule.
  9. It's exploding because there's a new game coming out and people are excited for it. This is after all a thread about the entire franchise more broadly. All the stuff that might constitute spoilers is behind tags so you're not going to stumble into anything by accident.
  10. Brandon has said that it's possible to Awaken a coppermind so while it's not quite the same thing there's no reason to think that if you can shove Breath into something to Awaken it that there should be any difference with simply shoving Breath into something as a form of storage, which we know can be done. So yeah, I imagine it would be possible in theory for Hoid to store Breaths in a F-Copper medallion or somesuch if he wanted to be super-redundant with his memories.
  11. Ahhhh, alas. Well, something you may not have spotted prior to that point (or didn't think about it because you were spoiled that Falcom did to tease that reveal that was pretty clever: For what it's worth, given how early it happens it's not the biggest surprise the game has to throw at you by far. Hopefully you didn't get spoiled on anything else.
  12. Mmmmmmmm, this popcorn is delicious, care for some? (Same end of Chapter 2 spoiler)
  13. Unlike CS4 Hajimari doesn't have the kind of bloat caused by having a dozen characters present in every scene because of the way events are structured, it has a lot of text because it's big. Kuro is probably going to have a fair bit of variant text because of the Alignment Frame and Topic System that they've teased, which will add variety without the same kind of repetition. The core cast we've been presented with is also the exact same size as FC and at this point we don't know if we're going to have a similar narrative (a few fixed characters and others rotate in and out) or if the whole cast is more or less present after their introduction a la Cold Steel. Either way, the smaller cast is going to help. LOL, that awesome moment was one of the things I was thinking of specifically when I mentioned the moments of brilliance in the route-switching. xD
  14. It's mainly there to allow you to keep fishing past the exhaustion point of any given spot if you want to farm something repeatedly. I don't think I ever had an instance where a location-specific fish didn't spawn before I ran out of tries in the first instance. Also, in CS1's Finale it's possible to catch everything in the fishing spots in Trista so you can't lock yourself out if you did miss something. Yes, but a gacha system that doesn't require you to pay through the orifice in actual money and the process of accumulating the items needed to exchange for rewards also lets you gain EXP and the various randomly spawning chest rewards plus drops from enemies. Be careful, it's very easy to lose track of time in there. xD Oh, and speaking of Hajimari, in the livestream it was mentioned in the context of the game not getting a simultaneous release in Chinese/Korean that Kuro has a 'significantly' larger script than Hajimari. Seeing how Haji was already the third-largest game in terms of its script size and it was very close to the next game, there's a very good chance that Kuro will end up being the second-biggest script so far.
  15. Heat Up, which is not only a nice STR/ATS buff but the CP restoration effect means you have a net gain of 30 (40 when it upgrades) and it's so cheap you'll almost never be unable to use it. It's almost literally a completely free buff. Spell Card was overpowered when you drew the Spade previously but in Hajimari it doesn't work on bosses which makes it slightly less game-breaking.
  16. Just for the record, Arianrhod's identity has been an open secret since Trails to Azure when she first appears. The cast of C's route has an amazing dynamic and they all play brilliantly off each other. The fact that they do so well in their first game (Three and Nine notwithstanding) when they're up against characters with many games of appearances under their belts is a testament to how well they work. The route-switching thing has moments where you'll want to scream in frustration because you want to advance someone's plot but then it has moments of brilliance that make it all worthwhile. And yes, 'that character' becoming a full-time ally was glorious. Especially since they got a new Craft that's pretty absurdly powerful, though one of their old ones finally got a good-bad bug fixed that makes it merely a very good skill and not a game-breaking one. And to what you mentioned earlier about the OP, yeah, I think it worked really well and I wouldn't mind if Falcom kept doing that for future games. They've mentioned that it's become harder to do really good ones in-house and while the outsourcing worked great in Tokyo Xanadu and Ys VIII, the CS3/4 ones weren't anything special and Ys IX just dropped an OP entirely. So switching gears to something they can do in-house could be the way forward for them, guess we'll just have to wait and see. The fact that it's a good song doesn't hurt either. <gets more popcorn ready>
  17. The livestream had some new footage for Kuro, with a bit of gameplay (still obviously demo stuff) and seamless transitions in towns from inside to outside and back. Since it was mainly about the partnership with CLE there was also stuff about how Kuro was going to get releases in Traditional Chinese and Korean text and some info on the Switch ports of other games. The big 'reveals' of the livestream were confirming several expected characters, all of whom were already teased in last year's Hajimari postcard/calendar art. Cao and Kilika are returning faces, Jack and Halle are making their first proper onscreen appearance. If Rean is David then Jingo must be Mizzy, wanting to blow things up 'lots and lots'
  18. Ahhhh, the Hajimari Prologue... <munches popcorn>

    Chromium luck

For reference, I'm very interested in how F-Chromium works and asked Brandon once at a signing. His answer was basically RAFO. So yeah, while we have a bit more information about Fortune now than we did back then, we still don't know how this particular application of it will work except in broad generalities and that per Khriss in the Ars Arcanum, people tapping F-Chromium at least have the appearance of being 'lucky'..
  20. I suppose I'll need to get more popcorn ready then... Oh, and since we have clean Japanese versions of the new info, there's some new Kuro tidbits, again I'll tag the stuff that contains spoilers for previous games (mainly the back half of Cold Steel) - Judith's 'sense of justice' gets clarification as she hates seeing people pick on the disadvantaged and will step in if she sees it happening, she's consummately professional while on-camera and the trouble her 'other' work gets her into is related to something lacking in her nature. - Bergard is noted to be proficient in many styles of martial arts, with Kunlun being the most significant of them and it's noted to be a specifically Eastern style, so it's not one of Calvard's three signature schools (Taito, Eight Leaves and Aaron's Gekka/Moonflower), which also tells us there's two more famous styles out there in parts further east. He taught Van how to fight 'properly' and didn't object to his becoming a Spriggan. - The Craft descriptions provide some more details and I'm tagging this just for length: And now, the spoilery bit:
  21. Khriss literally says as much when describing how Perpendicularities work in Arcanum Unbounded; they bridge all three Realms. For one example of a relevant WoB, here's Brandon saying you could use a Perpendicularity to peek into the Spiritual Realm. Seeing how Kelsier sees (and gets beaten up by) Hoid in Scadrial's Cognitive Realm before they emerge into the Physical Realm, the former would be a 'No' and since we know that people transiting through Devotion's Perpendicularity end up in Sel's Cognitive, the latter would also be a 'No'. All known instances of Perpendicularity travel involve transitioning from the Physical to the Cognitive or vice versa, taking advantage of the way empty space is compressed in the latter to literally walk between worlds. Now, it's possible that some method of using Perpendicularities to travel via the Spiritual Realm exists (we know Spiritual travel is possible) but given the way that time and space don't mean the same thing in the Spiritual, I suspect that you really don't want to try going there in the flesh. Kelsier almost broke his mind just looking into the place so interacting with the Spiritual without some kind of magic carefully controlling the process (like Aon Tia or an Oathgate for travel) would probably do even worse.. and there's a pretty good chance of a result like 'every atom in your body taking a separate vacation at a different point in the space-time continuum'.
  22. I'd say that's less fat and more muscle and the difference can be attributed to art style. He looks quite fit in other screenshots.
  23. WELL THEN, I'm feeling especially vindicated this morning. We just got another round of Kuro no Kiseki info with two new character reveals: Now, there are some major doozies in this batch of reveals, involving spoilers for the back half of Cold Steel: Oh, and since I missed seeing this a couple weeks back: This was a comment by the person who first talked about the reveals, it's not something from the article itself. Specifically it means they think that one of Quatre's drones resembles Friender from the Casshern franchise. EDIT: Corrected a few errors/omissions thanks to clearer scans
  24. The MAG isn't canon so anything it might have to say about Resonances (that's the term you're thinking of) would be non-canon as well. The MAG for example made up a use for F-Nicrosil because it was written before Brandon explained what it actually does in Bands of Mourning. So no, we don't know what a double-pewter Twinborn would get as their Resonance and won't unless/until Brandon either writes it into a book or tells us so in a WoB. It's extremely unlikely that they have an exact equivalent to the term 'hat trick' either, but Elend makes the joke nonetheless. Brandon even poked fun at this when he wrote up a story for a Kelsier vs Moiraine matchup. He;s fully aware of the 'translation problem', see here. In other words, just repeat to yourself the MST3K Mantra.
  25. The crystals grown from Amberite do decay into dust, yes. Whether that would apply in Mraize's case is a bit more questionable since Brandon has implied he has it as a trophy but can't actually use it. Either he's missing some necessary criteria (whatever that might be) or the Aether is 'dead' and can't form a viable bond, like the bit that D'naa chipped from Raeth. Or quite possibly both are true.
