While I'd love to see Kelsier win, I'm pulling for Moiraine and Kylar Stern.

Was I hallucinating or is Michael Whelan really doing the cover art for the final book? As for Brandon not having a release this year, he actually does. His novelette, Legion comes out this summer.

Brandon has said in past interviews that he doesn't want that to happen. He's also said that whether or not he writes anything other WoT books is up to Harriet and company. They haven't decided yet if they want anything else done (other than the complete WoT encyclopedia) and I wouldn't expect a decision on that until well after AMoL is finished. They have all their attention focused on that, and rightly so.

Curses! I was hoping I could weasel my way out of it. Sometimes even an invalid decree can be handy.

My introduction to fantasy was through fairy tales (both Grimm and Anderson), Aesop's fables, D&D novels, Choose Your Own Adventure, and Dr. Seuss. I also spent many an hour playing Dragon Warrior I-4. *sigh* Good times.

Yesterday as I was walking by Willamette Slough (one of the many local wetlands/wildlife preserves) I saw two herons fly by. What a wonderful omen.
