  1. Crying over the fact that one of my two favorite characters died a martyr. Still crying. Forever crying.

  2. I'll go and give Canaan a try some time. I'm really attracted to dark-themed shows mainly because of Jigoku Shoujo so yes. All the yes for this. I'm not really sure about what I feel towards the Black Butler though. I've been following the Black Butler manga closely so watching the anime somehow disappointed me. Still, it's probably one of my favorite animes up to date. A friend of mine told me about Eden of the East too, but wasn't able to watch it because... yeah, books. I'll definitely add this in my list though, thanks! The thing is, I've watched the anime first before the manga so I found it enjoyable. But yeah, I found the manga way better than the anime. It was confusing for most of the time, and with the never-ending twists, plus the constant action, I never found the time to rest and take a breath. It's just that good. And the characters are beyond admirable. Even the villain is just too good for his role. I'll most likely reread it again soon. Honestly, I never got to finish the second season because another close friend of mine kept telling me I might just break my laptop in two if I continued it. According to her, there were a lot of character development stuff the anime skipped over, and knowing myself, character development is one of the most important points I want to find in both anime and manga so... I think I'll stick to the manga with this. But the series itself: the plot, the characters, the history, the magic, is deliciously good. Magi is one hell of an adventure.
  3. I found The Rithmatist genuinely intriguing even with its shorter length compared to most of Sanderson's books. Aside from the fascinating magic system using chalks and Geometry, the protagonist was what I always wanted to see: flawed and lovable at the same time. It's a good read in my opinion. I've been wanting to buy Firefight too but WoK was sitting so innocently on one of the shelves so I just had to grab it. I've only read Mistborn and The Stormlight Archive so I don't have that much choices to begin with so I'll go with SA. The flora and fauna in Roshar is just stunning in my mind and I found myself more attached to the SA characters, especially Adolin, Kaladin, and Dalinar. And Jasnah. Oh, I think I'll definitely be a Soother/Spinner twinborn. Definitely.
  4. Granted. But that friend would be Stick. I want to see Dalinar dance to Wrecking Ball.
  5. Hi! I'm a 20 year old Filipina and I've been lurking around this site for months now. Just decided to join because I can't really pull myself away from all the Cosmere theories. The first Sanderson book I've read was The Rithmatist, recommended to me by a friend who knew I have a thing for complex magic systems. Right after that, I started looking for more of his books and stumbled upon Mistborn, which introduced me to his intricate world-building, more complicated magic system (heaven knows how much time I've spent remembering all the Allomantic metals), interesting characters, and issues rarely tackled on some fantasy books I've read, specifically religion. So yeah, I've read all the Mistborn books until Alloy of Law, The Stormlight Archive, The Rithmatist, and halfway through Warbreaker. I'll start Elantris as soon as I'm done with Warbreaker and I hope to get to talk about all these wonders with you guys soon enough! Please take care of me?
  6. People find lizards harmless. I find them scary. To a new level. I cannot whistle for the life of me. I find wrestlers' armpits attractive. I don't know why. I have whiskers. Everytime I smile, it appears on both cheeks.
  7. I suppose being a 90's anime fan, The Vision of Escaflowne, Rurouni Kenshin, Neon Genesis Evangelion, One Piece, and Detective Conan takes the top spot, though there's still a lot of those I could never possibly dislike, mainly due to the nostalgia it brings everytime. Has anyone mentioned Pandora Hearts, though? The animation is a bit rusty compared to the current shows but the twists and turns and the characterization really brings this anime to my most beloved along with FMA:B. Not to mention the Alice in Wonderland-inspired chains and the manga's bittersweet ending had me feeling conflicted and restless for a week. It's a really good one, I swear it to the chasmfiend prowling somewhere. I also recommend Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic. The art is really... cutesy, which was a downside for me, but a few episodes more and I found myself stuck with it for years. The history of the Magi world, along with its vast magic system and the White vs. Black concept, did it for me. The characters are so complex and gray that you will always find yourself either wanting to make a shrine for them or digging their own grave for them to jump in. Plus, the politics. Oh, heavens, the POLITICS. And the issues. And the humor. And everything, really. Magi is really great. Try it sometime, yeah? But yeah, other than those, other favorites of mine include Hajime no Ippo, Chihayafuru, Hunter X Hunter, Gangsta, Saiyuki, Daiya no Ace, Fate/Zero, Bakuman (THIS IS DEFINITELY A MUST WATCH), D. Gray Man, Kuroshitsuji, Death Parade, Wolf's Rain, Tsubasa Chronicles, Digimon, and a lot more, I believe. I might start Berserk and Trigun some time soon since people keep on recommending it to me. Can I ask for more recommendations? Preferably something dark, since I like it dark and gloomy.
  8. Currently strumming an ancient guitar in hopes of summoning Hoid.
