  1. About Elhokar: I think he's either a Lightweaver or an innate Soulcaster. About his seemingly antagonistic behavior, I think he's still shaken up from Narak, the Everstorm, et al. Also, Navani's his mother and Dalinar's his uncle, and he's probably not taking too kindly to the sudden nature of the union, which is understandable. Not sympathetic, but understandable. He may be an obstacle for Dalinar in the future, but an antagonist? I dunno.
  2. So Dalinar's not a murderer, then?

    Man of hours

Well, I think that this "man of hours" is
  4. So are Dalinar, Shallan, Kaladin, 9 of the Heralds, and countless other characters in Brandon's works. That just helps to propel the story forward. If everyone was a perfect hero, there wouldn't be any conflict or interesting narrative. Besides, we're only on Book Three of a ten book series. There's plenty of time for more character development. (Sorry if I'm behind on this, I just woke up and began combing the thread)

    Man of hours

I actually made a whole post about this a while back! Have you read Secret History?
  6. So, then, if his boon was forgetting Evi, what was his bane?
  7. So, kids, what we thinking? The Dalinar-Navani marriage was a bit sudden, and I expected something awful to happen (one of them gets pushed off the building, there's secretly an assassin in the midst of them, Dalinar to have to fight the Stormfather to get the marriage) but no, it was mainly uneventful. I'm very interested in this book from the beginning, unlike WoR, which is a good sign. Everything so far has been very good.
  8. @Kaymyth hit the nail directly on the head. Also, Jodie Whittaker is one of the more capable actors of her generation. Have y'all seen Broadchurch? It's amazing. David Tennant and Jodie co-star as a lead investigator with a history and the mother of a young victim, respectively. It's on Netflix, so check it out.
  9. Fullborn has my vote.
  10. It's 9 x 2, and 9 is Odium/Braize's number, but that's all that comes to mind currently.
  11. Wendigo, again. It comes out tomorrow, y'all should give it a try.
  12. Ooh. I like that. Also, @PunSpren, that's a good point. Perhaps the top floor was the Windrunners?
  13. Renarin... I love him... ALSO, Holy Storming Odium Champion Who do y'all think it is??? Since it said that Dalinar thought it looked familiar, I think it's:
  14. A hooded figure emerges from the shadows and pulls back a xanadu-shaded hood. I am the Assassin in Xanadu. After months of obscurity I have returned to my place in the Assassins. Welcome.
  15. Ah, I see what you mean. Perhaps it is a new island! We shall see. I have heard rumblings that we may return to past regions in this instalment, which I am all for.
  16. Hey pals! I just thought I'd log on to plug some excellent music.
One of my favorite bands, Penny & Sparrow, has a new album coming out this Friday, entitled Wendigo. I happened to get it on vinyl in the mail a week early, and folks... it's really good music. It deals with fear in a really profound way, stripping it back to reveal the hope, and deeper meanings within. There's a trilogy of songs that put death in the spotlight, telling the story of life from death's perspective ("Part One: Visiting", "Part Two: Smitten", and "Part Three: Moniker"). There's a song (as on all their albums) named after a character from Les Miserables ("Javert"). All the tracks are powerful and beautiful, and I highly recommend it.

Wendigo also has some of the most beautiful album art I've seen in a long while.

  17. One thing I noticed about the dark cloud is that it's directly above the spot where the dimensional rift is located.
  18. So, they're pulling a Black2/White2 again. Five years later. Hm. Thoughts?
  19. Wait wait wait, I was talking about myself! Darkness, you're quite well known for your humor, and your awesome photography!
  20. Happy birthday @Kaymyth!!!!! <3
