  1. Gylf was surprised at the amount of conversation surrounding the HI. She believed Hellscythe's robotic assurance that he would remain trustworthy, at least for the moment. However, she saw another flaw in Kipper's relatively foolproof plan. What if a traitor falsely informed the HI that they were a hemalurgist, when in reality, they were not? It would certainly mean that the entire ship would be misinformed and perhaps trust the HI for too long. She didn't want to be a critic; Kipper's plan could work fairly well. However, she didn't want to risk a potential oversight.
  2. And now, I present to you, Part 1 of the Memematist
  3. Gylf listened to the conversation. There wasn't anything really obvious that she could point out. Gylf thought this sounded sensible enough. Of course, difficulties may arise if HI assumed from the beginning that he would eventually become traitorous, and simply act that way from the beginning to save time.
  4. This... this is just amazing.
  5. But wouldn't you have to sleep, or at least be drowsy, to store wakefulness?
  6. Can anyone try? IREALLYOUGHTTOBEDOINGHOMEWORKORSLEEPINGORSOMETHINGBUTIAMJUSTONTHESEVENTEENTHSHARD BECAUSEWHYNOT
  7. You get boredom! *inserts actual sleep*
  8. Gylf watched the conversation surrounding James T. Slade (Bridge Boy) with interest. "While I feel as though Mr. Slade here has a point about lynching based on some sort of evidence rather than nothing, he seems to be exaggerating the suspicion that Cor deserves. As far as I know, morbid humor is no basis for execution. In fact, Mr. Slade's actions seem to me to be the most suspicious at the moment, but I'm not about to go and execute him for it. What evidence can we truly draw from only a few hours of conversation?"
  9. Gylf glared at A.L.F.A. "Really? Just because I point out the obvious, that Cor's statement is a contextually ironic joke, means that I must be the murderer? I have heard of cases where people have been executed for an innocent slip of the tongue, or the Ripple Effect, as some call it. Is this any different? If one takes Cor's words at face value, then certainly he is worthy of being executed. However, it is far more likely that he was feebly attempting at humor, rather than actually suggesting that we kill our noble commander. And yet, the one who you think needs executing is someone who is just trying to clarify the probable intent behind those words?" Edit: Nodding, Gylf accepted A.L.F.A.'s apology. She could understand such miscommunication.
  10. Gylf stared at Cor Mordero, flabbergasted. Surely this must be some kind of cruel joke? She had heard how the last voyage of this kind ended, and the thought of it made her shiver. It had to be a joke, a morbid jest. Nothing to kill anyone over. Edit: Ninja'd by Alvron. As she thought, Cor's statement was but a jocular notion. In her mind, however, such topics should be avoided, as far as humor goes. Better safe than sorry. (trying to do this game entirely in RP format, just to see what it's like)
  11. I love watching Sherlock! Just wait 'til you get to the third episode.
  12. What does she mean by "silly?"
  13. As far as I can recall, there's no roles that affect votes, but with three or four of them it would be easy for them to tip the scale. I'm kind of unnerved by the lynch train on alfa. Just to have that many people unanimous on who to kill is pretty difficult to pull off most of the time. Unless, of course, the suspect has been blatantly obvious about being an eliminator. Edit for odd formatting.
  14. That is true, my vote on Meandbooks was more of a poke-vote, which is now why I am voting for Zephrer. Clanky's points about him seem legitimate, and I notice that he keeps specifying that he is an inquisitor augur. That wording just sounds very skaa to me. This cycle, I've seen a lot of people referencing my initial death as an excuse. These cases may be similar to an extent, but the attacks against these people seem more concrete than accusing for a single typo. I don't want a situation like that to happen again, but simply saying it's the Ripple Effect (which is a great name by the way) doesn't explain away all suspicions. However, it is a fair point to make that you feel like your words are being misjudged. It is easy to misinterpret tone when all you have available is simple text. This just shouldn't be your only defense.
  15. I can't really give any defense of Kas's actions, as I am not Kas, and I just haven't had the time to really study people's responses and draw suspicions. You do seem to forget, however, that my vote has been on Meandbooks for most of the cycle, and I'm one of the few people actually voting. With the way the eliminators are probably just sitting back, we can't afford to be wrong. I hesitate to vote because I fear making the wrong decision. I'm trying to contribute, it's just that with time constraints, I don't have a lot of time to. If posting what I think would help, I'd be glad to.
  16. Figured I should do some sort of introductory RP... Gylf paced around the perimeter of one of the rooms, pondering a theoretical engineering issue. She loved theory that made the ship go, she just couldn't figure it out when faced with a bunch of nonsensical machinery. Of course, some solutions were obvious; remove obstructions, realign gears, etc. But what would you do if the control software got corrupted? Or if there was fuel leaking? How are you supposed to patch the hole then? Such matters were on her mind as she patrolled the empty room. The room didn't really have a specific purpose; it just helped her to avoid other staring crewmembers. Apparently staring off into space while pacing frightened some people. Gylf couldn't understand why, especially since she was one of the most perceptibly weak people on the ship. She turned around, hoping that walking in the opposite direction would help jog her memory a bit more. If one merely went by numbers, she was the smartest engineer on the ship. Give her any theoretical physics problem, and she could solve it within ten minutes, assuming that there was actually a solution. Sure, she didn't have a mind for intricate code, but there were other engineers for that. No, her problem was pressure. Emotional, not physical. Physical pressure was actually quite easy to calculate. She hated the pressure the others put on her when she was clamming up in front of the relatively simple machinery. Jeers flew through her head, each one tearing a scrap of her soul. Stop. Back to work, back to topic, revenons à nos moutons.
  17. I don't know if you can with certainty say that the expert coinshot is out of charges. I started out the game as a soother with 4 charges. Having a 4th charge is possible, just unlikely. Also, I suspect that the majority of the skaa are inactive, as they didn't get a kill last cycle. Therefore, it might be more worth our time to focus on people who aren't posting at all. Edit: Meandbooks, we haven't heard from you in a while. Disclaimer: I'm not saying we go all Contribution Crusade, but we should look at who didn't post at all last cycle, but have been relatively active. However, I'm willing to bet that there's at least one completely inactive skaa. Edit 2: retracting vote
