  1. I'm not quite sure what you mean...how far I am in reading Portland?
  2. I have trouble shipping things until I see proof for the ship (the one exception being Fili and Sigrid, that just appeared in my head when I saw Desolation of Smaug xD), but I'm wanting to find at least a brOTP for Autumn. It's hard shipping a vanilla with an Epic, though, and there aren't that many vanilla characters to choose among, so I dunno who. I shall cogitate further on this matter, however.
  3. Honestly one of my Dalles favorites is Backtrack. xD Also I ship both obvious in-game ships very hard (Ethan/Emma and Backtrack/MV) but that's beside the point. =D
  4. I don't remember the exact order of these, but my dream last night involved (I apologize in advance for the stream-of-consciousness format, that's just how my dream narrations go xD): --a stealth training activity with Agent May, possibly Grant Ward, and some snarky guy I didn't know; the idea was to "shoot" May before she "shot" me and my "shooter" was a glasses case (I guess the click of the lid was to simulate a "shot"). I failed, of course. --something Doctor Who/dying planets related; like on Jupiter there was this guy Jupiter sort of pixelated (like made of green pixels that could come apart and back together) and the Tenth Doctor was trying to help him stay alive and then suddenly another Jupiter guy appeared and they fought and the real Jupiter cast the illusion of a bunch of TARDISes so the enemy Jupiter couldn't destroy the actual TARDIS but he landed a lucky hit and the top of the TARDIS was on fire and then I think it came back to earth? And Rose might have made a cameo appearance. --something about crossing streets and pulling a Rip Van Winkle and maybe a Crack in Time and Space...this part's blurry, I'll edit if I remember. --sneaking through what at one point I think was my great-aunt and -uncle's house but then might have been Tony Stark's and I think in the end used to be either Raina's or an Epic's, OH RIGHT and this idk-maybe-Epic might have been the cause of some sort of disease that spread through touch where these little grainy molecules started forming on people's arms and legs and the people would echo the last thing you said and then just before they froze in place like statues they would point in one direction and somehow that led me and someone else to I think the garage of this strange house, where under some cleverly disguised cardboard we found a short shaft leading underground. At the bottom I could see a very choppy river-ish thing, with a current and everything, and apparently it was the Well of Ascension and I was Vin and I reached down my arm and got my finger wet and sucked the water off and apparently that made me immortal which I and my companion knew was wrong (because I knew spoilers; idk about the other person). Yeah. I regularly have weird, multi-fandom dreams.
  5. Gah ThirdGen beat me and I don't know Next Generation, just original series. *goes back to lurking*
  6. Double-checking that this is actually one I can do, is that the comics or the cinematic universe?
  7. *very good impression of Ten's "Weeeeelllll"* I don't have to do the extra credit discussion posts that would be due tonight...and I don't have to start mac 'n cheese till 6:30...my test is done...storm it, I'll at least start reading. xD I did both. Technically. Before I was a member I think I started reading Portland--if that's the thread with Doctor Funtimes abducting the poor scared dude--and backed away. But then I joined the Shard and, well, BRING ON THE PANCAKES. =D
  8. Rather intrigued, actually. xD And sorely tempted to read Portland instead of working on online classes....
  9. YAY another random quiz I can take to find out things I already knew about myself! =D 47% Truthwatcher, 37% Elsecaller, and 19% Skybreaker/Bondsmith. Though by the descriptions I think I'm mostly a mix of Truthwatcher and Lightweaver (impressive memory and encouraging sound right).
  10. Have an upvote, don't eat the cookies (unless your doctor's prescribed an increase of minerals in your diet ), and welcome! =)
  11. It's possible, but I think it's also possible Skylar could be a diner waitress just to make ends meet (she probably did this at least when she first got to town) or even help out at Dr. Game's clinic.
  12. Great, thank you! Yay, thanks so much! I'm working on reading the thread--currently on page 5. When I'm done, do I just go ahead and make a post? Or will there be something specific she could be doing that I'll find out about as I get more up to date?
  13. *tiptoes in* Hey...so I've RP'd before on another forum, but the format was slightly different (there was a GM who kept things moving in one general direction, which I'm not quite sure I'm seeing here), so I'm pretty much a newbie. Also I haven't read Steelheart/Mitosis/Firefight for a while. With that said, I think I'd like to join one of these threads, I'm just not sure which one (especially since most are super-long and I'm not reading 100 pages just to find out nope, not a good fit). The Etiquette post suggested positing a character and asking y'all where he or she might fit best, so here goes nothing. Skylar is not an Epic, first of all. She's a former college junior in her early 20s who fortunately was working off-campus when her roommate/BFF, Erika, turned Epic. She nearly destroyed said campus by remotely blowing up the computer system before finding out her weakness was apples (she was eating lunch outside at the time). Just as she spat out the bite of fruit and pondered calling herself the Doctor, a Mac computer flew unharmed from the latest explosion and...well...let's say edible apples were the least of Erika's troubles. Tangent aside, Skylar was out of a school with nowhere to go; her only family lived half the country away and travel on that scale was way not safe, so instead she walked to the nearest main town because hey, anything's better than living in the open. (This can be whatever RP town she fits in.) Personality: E S/N FJ, friendly, talkative (especially when nervous or embarrassed), acts on adrenaline and cries later (preferably in private--she likes to look strong and works hard at burying her emotions, especially about Erika), hard worker, protective of friends and those who need protection, a better follower than leader, loyal to a good leader, strong sense of right and wrong (so "gray" questions are difficult because she sees pros and cons). Bit of a pride issue as mentioned earlier--maintaining an image--plus she can be stubborn if she thinks she's in the right. Competitive, doesn't like losing--arguments, banter, or games. Rub her the wrong way, and her occasional snark can get biting. Other: for visual ref, think Darcy Lewis from Thor but without glasses. She'll reference fandoms randomly, especially when she's stressed. Casual dresser. I've played a similar character personality-wise in previous RPGs elsewhere, hence the detail. xD Where might she fit best?
  14. Congrats on all that hard work paying off!
  15. Legolas--and Clint Barton and Robin Hood--could be steel or iron Mistings--not that they need help with their precision any, but it might give a bit more force to the arrows. Pietro Maximoff needed to be a gold Ferring. As did Thorin and Fili and Kili. Gandalf could totally Awaken things. And it might be interesting for the Doctor to be a gold Misting...though that could go either way, encouraging or depressing. It might be handier if he could Lash. Just a few ideas--I'm sure I'll be back with more. Brilliant thread! =D (And Darth Vader with hemalurgy would be seriously scary. o_o)
  16. Rising freshman here, majoring in creative writing. AND I'M SO EXCITED. =DDD Sanderson's work was a wonderful find since I like writing fantasy and thus far mainly had Tolkien to look up to. The Cosmere is a whole 'nother level, so it's a really good example--and a fantastic fandom as well.
  17. Calculus BC and Lit&Comp. =D I was pretty sure I'd get at least a 4 on the latter, but the best I was expecting on calc was a 3. xD Heh, yeah, I found out the release date like a week ago and I've been dying by inches since. I hope they're great! Which tests did you do?
  18. I got 5 on both of my AP tests!!! An answer to prayer.
  19. I just didn't. Especially since LotR wasn't on there and that was the one I would've gone for. =D Buck the system and don't vote!
  20. Tolkien first and foremost (how is that not on the poll xD), Doctor Who, Marvel (movies and Agents of SHIELD), Percy Jackson, Star Trek (original series), Narnia, Artemis Fowl, Mysterious Benedict Society (is that a fandom?), Studio C, and Blimey Cow. *nods* =) I'll add more if I think of them.
  21. ISFJ here (with slight P tendencies), though my muse/inner commenting voice a.k.a. Brainkeeper is ESFJ and very Darcy Lewis-ish, so I can tend to come across more like that online. xD
  22. Orlando Bloom, Aidan Turner, Lee Pace, Dean O'Gorman, Viggo Mortenson, Cate Blanchett, Ian McKellen, Sir Christopher Lee, Elijah Wood, Sean Astin, Dominic Monaghan, Billy Boyd, Miranda Otto, Karl Urban, Bernard Hill, Sean Bean, Richard Armitage, Ken Stott, Jimmy Nesbitt, Hugo Weaving, and I could go on. *grins* WLIU...let's go semi-easy. What's the name of Odin's staff in Norse mythology?
  23. I kind of wrote this in two separate sittings rather far apart, but hopefully it won't seem too choppy. The song's from West Side Story; this is set between Steelheart and Firefight, so there are the natural spoilers for the former. I have other, non-Sanderson fic on FFN, if you'd like to check me out there: https://www.fanfiction.net/~mirieltolkien I'd love if you dropped by! =)
  24. I'm doing it just to finish up an old NaNo project I never completed--I'd join if I could, but I'm already in a cabin with some online-school friends. xD
  25. So I'm still working on watching New Who (almost done with season 4), but I thought why not pop in here. =D Favorite Doctor: the Doctor (okay, maybe Nine, though Ten is good too). Favorite companion: erm. Gonna be cliche and go Rose. BECAUSE SHE WAS PERFECT FOR HIM OKAY? *flops* Favorite alien/monster/thingy: the Adipose. So freaking cute. Scariest: definitely the Vashta Nerada. Daleks just get annoying after a while, though they're still a ginormous threat. Fave episode so far: well the feelsiest was Doomsday, of course. School Reunion was great, the Daleks in Manhattan set was good (Andrew Garfield!!)...as was Voyage of the D----d. I'm terrible at picking favorites, in case you hadn't noticed.
