Stormlight Archive Characters Theme Music
Moonskin replied to ChullRider's topic in Stormlight Archive
The soundtrack of World of Warcraft fits very well with WoR; this songs makes me think of Dalinar and his expedition (after the first minute): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=buzesBqDJ70- 31 replies

Shallan's sketchbook for me, I'd love to be able to see all her drawings of Roshar

Huhu, I did the exact same thing, it would have been a waste to miss one page But you have a better memory than mine, I don't recall any of the titles! I did not know about re-edition, but sometimes I find an old copy at the flea market and I buy it, for the sake of old time (and I am still unable not to cheat ) And yes, I am French (actually, I am Swiss but I live in the French speaking part of the country), I take that you are French-speaking too? Speaking about French, there is a French guy that makes "Livre dont vous êtes le héros" on Youtube, with the same concept: you watch the vidéo and you choose which link to pick to continue the story. If you want to give it a try: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NdMTJPqFojM&index=29&list=LLpo2lz2E98C60NxI4_aXbgQ

Yes, I read that one - I have all of the Witches series - and I agree it is a very good one. I liked Guards! Guards! even more, though (how not to fall in love with a book where the magic wand produces only pumpkins? I would have loved to see that concept at work in Harry Potter, it would have saved him a lot of troubles )

It seems that I found the place where I belong: I make a habit of lending my favourite books to my friends and acquaintances for them to discover ... and then I run to the library to buy another copy, just because I hate the idea of not having all of my books at hand in case I want to re(re)read them Books before friends. 17th Shard before the real world. Release dates before birthdays. May I be accepted amongst the Knights Awkward ?

Wow, I got to admit that I wouldn't have bought that book without strong recommendation! Mistborn (translated as Sons of the mist in French) also was my first Sanderson’s book, thanks to my librarian who strongly advised it to me. At that time, a friend of mine was reading “The name of the wind” and both of us claimed to have found THE fantasy novel of the year ... we still haven't settled that argument years later

Good guess. Although I haven't read all the many books yet, Discworld is indeed a great serie (I have a soft spot for the Wyrd sisters ) And thanks for pointing out that I could find Warbreaker on-line, it will definately help me wait for my paperback!

Who is your favourite character in SA?
Moonskin replied to missionaryofgod's topic in Stormlight Archive
I'ts difficult to choose only one of the characters. I like the way Shallan evolves in WoR, I found her pretty boring in the first book; I like Kaladin much better in WoR too. Syl and Pattern are great too, but not in the list; so I eventually voted for Dalinar : he is the only one that I really liked from the very start and his doubt on his own sanity were very interesting to follow. And I waited for him to disappoint me, but he didn't so I just like him even more -
Thank you Quiver. Warbreaker is on my to-read-list along with Steelhart; but I'll take your advice and begin with Warbreaker (there is so much to read that I don't know where to begin )

Thank you I am already on the verge of depression because of Rothfuss and Martin, I really couldn't bear one more so-slow writters in my favorit list ... >__< I read a lot of crime stories (Fred Vargas is love ) a few good (imo) horror writters (Steven King, Dan Simmons) and history books (especially about european middle-ages or Japanese Edo-Meiji era). I also enjoy children books like The Orphans Baudelaire sometimes; pretty much everything except romance and tragic stories.

Oh, "Le livre dont vous êtes le héros", that's all my chilhood! (I cheated all the time, but I was more interested in the story than in the game anway). My first real fantasy book was "The lord of the rings" some 20 years ago. I really loved it, but I could not find anything good in the same genre and I kind of forgot about the idea. I re-discoverd fantasy with Terry Pratchett's Discwolrd years later and I realized that a whole world of good fantasy books was born while I wasn't looking, so I am now trying to keep up with what I missed

I am definitely not good at the presentation thingy, but somehow I don't feel allow to post unless I make the effort of trying ... so, presentation it is! I am a female bookworm living in the French-speaking part of Switzerland. I am afraid that reading is a bit of a an addiction to me and the best places to find me are the local libraries, hidden behind a pile of the hugest tomes I could find, or the local bookstores hidden behind a pile of the hugest tomes I could find ... I read pretty much all the time; I used to spend half my nights reading from the public lightning coming from my window when I was a kid. I still do that, except that now I am allowed to have my own lamp alight. I even developed a very handy technique of reading while walking, which is very convenient when you have a sixteen-year old arthritic dog to walk 4 times a day (I must have read entire tomes on the road ^^’’) I also love music a lot and I choose very carefully the music I listen while reading as I always eventually make a connection with the books and the music (I cannot listen to Faun anymore without thinking about The way of kings. And thousands blessings be upon Alain Damasio for having Arno Alyvan write a beautiful soundrack for “La horde du Contrevent”, I would love so much that other authors follow his exemple! ) I came into Sanderson’s writings with the “Mistborn” series a few years back, upon recommendation of my favourite librarian. I recently discovered “The Stormlight Archive” and I fell in love with it, - especially with Dalinar Kholin, I have to admit ^^''. I am currently re-reading “Words of radiance” and I am sooo frustrated that I have to wait months for the next book that I felt the need to scream it to the world, hence my inscription to this forum that I’ve been stalking for a while now. And please forgive me if my english and my spelling are not always top-notch; for some strange reason, my english corrector refuses to work on this board
