  1. Hey! I just found the same symbol in the Roshar map of the Silver Kingdoms epoch! It is in the botton left corner, just over the Stormfather face! Here is the image: Looks like the symbol you found, don't it? By the positioning in this map, it seems implied that it is related to the Stormfather in some way. Maybe it is the piece that was missing? Man, this topic is awesome in so many levels!

    Mistings

Remember that a Thug is not only strong as hell, but tough, quick and balanced too. A Coinshot can jump pretty high, but a thrown spear to the face with the force of a siege engine can still kill him very efficiently. Meanwhile, coins or other types of projectiles used by Coinshots would have a hard time causing enough trauma to give pause to the Thug.

Bah. Pewter is just better than both. You can survive the fall, keep going despite any damage that get past your absurd toughness and then smack the face of the guy that threw you from the plane/window/tree. IF the motherThis post has been reported for attempting to skirt the ruleser can push you without losing his chin to begin with.

    Mistings

The question I ask myself when choosing is: "What can make my life easier while keeping myself as lazy as possible?" The answer obviously is pewter. It don't need to be used only to deliver the pain! And when you REALLY need to deliver the pain, you have it anyway. Also, pewter is easy and cheap to come by as a bonus. Also, upvoting Dr. Horrible references!
  5. This! Remember that what makes Sanderson's Magic Systems interesting are exactly its limitations.
  6. And remember how Ruin could manipulate information. Maybe something like that could have happened in Roshar.
  7. I can't put my finger on what exactly, but I'm liking this theory a lot. I few that some of the examples in the first post are a bit contrived, but I think this is really in the right direction.
  8. People. Really. Even the body of shards had to take metallic forms to be burned. The magic system is called The Metallic Arts for a reason.
  9. And the scar in the head? In the same spot the original Demoux got in the end of Mistborn?
  10. Windrunner, maybe Honor's power to bind things kept Odium from doing anything at all until the Oathpact was broken. He was trapped, only able to keep playing Honor's "game".
  11. Or maybe... You know. It just doesn't matter?
  12. I think the correct name is "The Black Piper in the Night", not just Black Piper. For no other reason that it is more cthulhian that way.
  13. Man. The whole purpose for me to use this forums is to have fun. You better believe that I will ignore any information I can if that means "fun"! If it was a floating city, nothing prevents it from being moved before crashing in the place that in the future would become the Shattered Plains.
  14. Heh, that was exactly my theory too.
  15. Well, I think he is so miserable through the whole book precisely for not doing that.
  16. Yes: there is a upper-limit of how much power, and thus, how much speed, a mistborn can apply to a push. Even with duralumin.
  17. Uhm, very cool theory. I like it.
  18. Weiry-Frost Theory of Shardic Radiation, guys and girls! Remember that name! Its a winner!
  19. Like, to arm a type of SWAT team... That could use their powers to stop criminal allomancers and ferrings...
  20. And also, remember what happened to Kaladin. A king or any other buyer that acquires the blade would be tempted to kill Shalan and all her family to avoid blackmail. She and her family might have thought of that and thought that the risk was too big.
  21. We could theorize that when he gets to the Well of Ascension again, his connection with Ruin could be severed for the brief moments he was using the power, get in his right mind again and take precautions to set back Ruin influence.
  22. Of course! Dawnsingers! It makes complete sense! I'm liking this theory already. Maybe the reason for the Parshendi "betrayal" was to attract as much Alethi fighting force and population to the Shattered Plains before the next desolation, when the Parshmen are going to go berserk with Odium's influence. The Plains will become the bastion of the Alethi people, already used to fight and all but actively live in there. When the Parshmen/Voidbringers come, they will find a battle-ready, trained and fortified people backed by the Parshendi/Dawnsingers in a territory that they basically mastered in warfare! Tell me about random speculation!
  23. What is it I don't even ... You didn't... You just didn't compare Kaladin to the worse character from the worse book to ever gain a physical presence outside of Hell. I really can't even begin to comprehend how you could compare the character with most tragedy, growth and overcoming of the book with a retarded girl which biggest problem was that she can't decide if she prefers to engage in necrophilia or bestiality. I mean, Kaladin got all his dreams crushed, one after another, to try and protect Tien. Then he saw his brother being slaughtered in front of him, after that he was betrayed in the worse way he could, again saw the people he cared about being killed, was sold into slavery and finally became the lowliest lifeform in the most brutal and oppressive job ever. And he STILL managed to protect, or at least try to protect, everyone around him. Managed to help a lot of people and to make them feel like it was worth living again and ultimately saved and became the personal bodyguard of the greatest highprince of Alethkar! How can you even begin to compare that to Bella!?
  24. Sweet mother of mercy. This thread is so full of raw, unfettered WIN that I will need to recover the bits of my brain from the ceiling! THIS. And Dalinar as The Most Interesting (ex)Shardbearer in the World was awesome!
  25. Except that a person can be tortured into giving his breath.
