  1. I also think of Adolin as a Knight Radiant, but now after the title for book 3 I think it possible the connection could be to Oathbringer. Perhaps he needs to confess - I don't mind killing Sadeas so much, but trying to hide his deed - this was so "Un-Adolin-Like". I like the idea with him forced to hand over his blade(s), this would show if he has succeeded in bonding a spren.
  2. That was the reason for the quotation marks - "free" isn't right, but there will be a change in his personality, because Szeth doesn't believe in his truthless state anymore. What this change will be, it's in the further story and the starting point with Nightblood and Nale is interesting, even if this isn't easy. His past may be also interesting, but there's no way back in his evolution, it's just history. His actual story is something new - good or bad isn't relevant - and will bring the story to a next level. I was near a heart attack because of Nightblood, but on second thought it is possible Szeth is the person who is able to bring Nightblood to a better understanding of good and bad, because they must learn together - only as a possibility. My problem is Nale - but to know his intensions and plans I need the actual story, not the flashbacks. Justice is another problem - normally there isn't a single justice, it depends on different societies, cultures, religions...justice for one group is sometime unjustice to another. And with a further story I hope to know the rules of the Skybreaker-Justice. At the moment I can't see much sense in it, but that doesn't mean there isn't any.
  3. Dalinar's flashbacks don't mean there isn't any other story. The further way of Adolin would be in book 3 with or without this flashbacks - there is a dead highprince, this will have consequences. Personally I see the decision pro Dalinar not as something against Szeth. It is possible Sanderson want to give more to his actual story before we get his background. Until this book we know only his facette as a Truthless and even without his flashbacks we are going to see him in the next books as a "free" man - perhaps a way to get a better access for his real personality, a better understanding for the moment when finally his story is explained.
  4. I'm in that state trusting the author with every decision. Dalinar or Szeth - I don't have a problem, even if Szeth is kind of a villain, he would/will transport themes like the honourblades, the culture of Shin, it is even possible, that he was one of the stone-shamans. Perhaps he has observed a change with this blades causing his knowledge of the desolation. Whatever - it will be interesting. But now we know it is Dalinar - his flashbacks and the title is a book with the name of his old shardblade. The blade we see right after Adolin kills Sadeas. I think Mr Sanderson decision isn't only in favour for Dalinars story, but also the direct continuation of what will happen with his son. As to his flashback I think this could be more than only his life as a warrior. He was and he is the blackthorn, the Highprince of War. But what has changed? We like him because of his attitude for human life even for the lifes of the darkeyes. I think it is possible that he was the same as his old friends Sadeas and Amaram, it could have been his idea using slaves as bridgemen in this way. Or a flashback similiar to the end of TWoK - only there he don't give a thought about the lifes of darkeyes. Our sight of his personality is based on his actual personality, but we know nothing about him in the past like his old companions. And right from the beginning this old friends tell us that Dalinar isn't the same as they had known him, but not as a warrior. I fear he will end up as someone like - or even worse - Sadeas in his flashbacks. But now he is the new Bondsmith and I believe his first order must be to unit darkeyes and brighteyes like in the "good old times". This point can be much more interesting, if he himself once was a Brightlord like Kaladin pictures every other of this species, not the "daddytype".
  5. Let's say - two hearts, one thought. Was it "Harmony"? Was it fate? It's my first time something like a mindlink happens.
  6. Look above - no, you aren't.
  7. Is it possible that Breeze was the author? Someone is looking for the spices from Rashek and Edwarn has something in his mind with this kidnapped women. Wax thinks this could be for Allomancy, but this was before he gets the information from Marsh. Now if his uncle doesn't try something with Allomancy rather with Hemalurgy, then he should also has had this/similiar informations and coming from Breeze would be more reasonable because of the family. Remember the last scene in the train? Wax is talking about the women and Edwarn remembers him of their bloodline, the counselor of gods - I was never really able to see a connection until now.
  8. I've always read this more literally. Yes, the heralds had abandoned the oathpact and humans, but first of all they had abandoned their blades. There's a gap - we know nothing about what happened with the "swords in the stone", but I don't think they came right after this to the Shin where they are more or less safe. Perhaps this is the reason people started to see the knight radiance as traitors - if the holders of the shardblades were fighting against people, who had taken the honorblades. Perhaps this is my wishful thinking - I want to know more about honorblades and their magic.
  9. Me think: Is this relevant for the over-all-plot? If yes, then there could be something in his next volumes - and we are going back to the LR - someone is looking after his relics. Perhaps they don't want Mistborns, rather real Ferruchemics. To the when and who: Since there wasn't any gossip - before or in his starts as Lord Ruler is a good option. He could have had an 'impact' on his nobility or this was the reason for the "breeding-program" for Terris. A possibility is also this Terriswoman in Elantris - Hoid saving his child/children and hopping with them to Sel. But back to Mistborn and who - if this should be a plotpoint, then is a living offspring the logical consequence - a descendant out of the first triology or - my first guess - Sazed. Wouldn't it be nice - the real "HoA" is the descendant of the "would-be HoA"?
  10. Hallo, please show mercy for my first time... There is a little bit like panic - Mr Sanderson is as relentless as Mr Martin, but mostly MCs die in his books after they has fulfilled a purpose - mainly spred knowledge, skills and something like that. They die, when it is possible to die without letting the plot came to an end. Like with Jasnah and Shallan - Jasnah's purpose was to give Shallan the skills, the education and methodes to get her own arc within WoR - even if Shallan has to persued her for the wrong reason. Like Kaladin and the bridgemen - he can't save everyone, but he can train them, can give them the abilities to survive - the chance to live and teach other people. Dalinar - he's the "Mentor" and my first reason to be afraid if someone has to die. But not without making a point, he IS a Bondsmith now, perhaps it will be for a spezial bond. Kaladin - same here. After saving the king he has a new goal - Elhokar wants - drunk, but "in vino veritas" - Kaladin to teach him how to be a leader. And Kaladin has recognized him as someone like Tien - Elhokar tries, but haven't had a real teacher. Looking forward I think it logical not to accept how stupid Elhokar is, but to teach him to be a good king. Moash - we leave him in WoK also whining - please, do something! If he really wants to redeem himself - don't let them have a Shardplate/blade - you are a Shardbearer - fight, don't let them get this. Think of Kaladin and the lesson he has taught you in the last fight - if you are on a wrong path, try to make it right - or die trying. And his purpose in WoK was to bring Kaladin with his action to the next level of his oath. Adolin - killing Sadeas isn't essential for any romance-plot - Shallan will have a word in this and that's it. She will be with Adolin - even if he will be punished, if she loves him - or with Kaladin, if not. On the other hand was Sadeas a walking dead since Adolin got the right for a duell - Adolin fighting with Sadeas was only a matter of time. Personally I think this is the start of his own arc - now he has the original Shardblade of his father back. In the end he's reacted like a coward, but there is a dead Highprince and there will be investigations and - wrong - accusations and a chance for him to show his qualities.
