  1. Oh, no, that's not Florida weather. Florida weather is melting hot, humid, and full of bugs. Trust me, I live there. I would pity the heralds if Braize is anything like South Florida.
  2. In the Ed-glee camp here. I'm really a 'pronounce it how I see it' person. I still have trouble with Yosemite.
  3. Has anyone considered that the spike they tried to give Wax could be the unknown metal? If Harmony's hands are corrupted, why not use them to corrupt his sword?
  4. Okay, so my thoughts. Loved it. It was what Star Wars is supposed to be. Okay, so I'm seeing a lot of people complaining about the 'starkiller'. I personally have no problem with it. Sure, it felt like a repeat, but seriously, a planet-sized weapon that shoots through hyperspace? That's seriously terrifying. Ironically, a friend of mine(who hasn't seen the movie yet), was just complaining to me about how Star Wars didn't have a weapon that shoots through hyperspace. The irony was killing me, but I didn't tell him. Han's death was a surprise, but it makes sense. I don't know what will happen with Ren. On one hand, he may get redeemed, but that's sort of cliche by this point, on the other, it's sort of sad if he doesn't. My big question though, is: if Anakin's light saber was found, where is Luke's hand?
  5. I didn't mean whether Sazed would try to control him, I don't think he will(though if it's a question of 'the greater good'...) I mean, does Marsh have a contingency plan like the Kandra? After last time, he probably would, but I have no idea how it would work.
  6. Oh, well, that would explain it. Huh. That's actually... I wonder if Marsh has a plan for being controlled through spikes like the Kandra do.
  7. Simple question: Where was Marsh during Shadows of Self? Really, why would Harmony use Wax at all when Marsh is available?
  8. I was Wax. Admittedly, I was rather lazy in my costuming, I just threw on faded jeans, button up shirt, cravat, and trenchcoat, but still.... I really want to make a Mistcloak.
  9. Under hyped- Alcatraz. This series is brilliant. It's amazing that he can write stuff this funny, while also balancing major stuff like Mistborn and SA. Overhyped- SA. Please don't kill me. I love the world, and the magic system, just the main characters are kind of just boring. Honestly, they're like WoT characters, and that bothers me(exceptions of Lift, and Wit, obviously). I hate it when characters don't communicate for no good reason, and they just won't, even when it's really obvious that they should. Maybe they'll improve going forward. I hope so, but right now, they're nowhere near where they should be.
  10. When you made a magic system based on dirt that has absolutely nothing to do with Whire Sand.
  11. So, basically, one could spike out a gift from the Nightwatcher, then heal that with Stormlight, and repeat. I'm seeing Lift being even more useful.
  12. What if it's Cultivation? We know that her Intent, per Brandon, is the most similar to Ruin's, and this plan is almost identical to Ruin's in TFE.
  13. Awesome, I was wondering what had happened to this. So, I wonder if you can do the same thing with Stormlight and Hemalurgy. Does it heal to the cognitive ideal?
  14. Reactions: Hey, I was right, Tan was a Kandra. Of course then that changed. Poor Wax. Fun sarcasm to Harmony. MeLaan and Wayne were awesome. I wonder if Harmony can make willing people Kandra. TenSoon! I've missed him. Hoid driving carriages again, we have confirmation he survives SA. New Hemalurgic monsters, not good. (But cool, I wonder if Hemalurgy has different bindpoints for God metals). Wax is Harmony's Ruin, TenSoon is his Preservation. We know what Wax does, what does TenSoon do? Aradel is pretty awesome, that was exactly what the mob needed. Sanderson once again pulls off the group dynamics exactly right. Loved the conflict here, why do bad things happen to good people? For Wax, he's dealing with that right now. Overall, this was darker than I thought initially it would be. Some nice romps, but very pervasive somber mood. Very deep read, more potential reactions on the reread.
  15. Well, that's hugely important. So, likely culprits, Rayse and Bavadin. So it's probably Raysium or Bavadium. The really important thing is what effect it has when allomantically burned. Too bad we don't have any Mistborn around. But what did it Hemalurgically steal?
  16. What if the pool isn't a Shardpool? I already mentioned this in another thread, but it could be something different. Stormlight spoilers: Oddly enough, why would the different Shardpools of Ruin and Preservation be next to each other? Also, can I please get in on the White Sand group? And if there's an Aether of Night one, I'd like to be in it as well.
  17. I think there's strong reason to believe that this pool is connected to the one from Elantris and the Horneater pools. It may be they aren't Shardpools like we thought, but something entirely different.
  18. Love this gem from Wayne: As an amateur linguist/Latin teacher, that's hilarious. Also, Hemalurgy strikes. I still think it's a Kandra, likely Bloody Tan. Given that Kandra can manipulate their bindpoints wherever they want, it seems to easy for one not to use Hemalurgy. When did Sanderson say the thing about no one knowing how to spike Kandra?
  19. Revelation time chapter 6. I'm storming right. Hemalurgic kill. It's got to be Tan, who I'm more and more convinced is a Kandra. Poor Idawashy, she never had a chance. Also, how can you hope to fight a Steelrunner Kandra?
  20. Edit: Nevermind, found it.
  21. Okay, on Kandra Hemalurgy, I found two quotes. Here is the most relevant: I wasn't sure if Kandra could gain powers, but apparently they can, which lend credence to my theory.
  22. That's true, I completely forgot about that, it's a good precedent. On a side note, does someone with more knowledge of Hemalurgy than me know if bind points work differently for Kandra?
  23. First, I think it is possible for him to spike himself, especially as a Kandra. However, that is a good point, it does seem to indicate he's working with someone at least. Right, I don't think he's got Koloss blood. Probably no atium either, though I'm curious as to why you think Marsh has the bracers. I thought Hoid had them. Not necessarily, I don't think Harmony was influencing him. Okay, that makes sense, but it just seems....wrong. I don't think Sazed would do that. Personally, I think my theory make more sense with the characters. Glad you joined up. For future use, you make spoilers by doing this without spaces: then whatever you want to hide. [/ s poile r] I don't think that's the case, it doesn't seem likely, Sazed has barely held the Shards for any significant length at all. Join the club, I'm pretty excited too, two this close is pretty awesome. Edit: Also, an alternate explanation for the steelrunner just hit me. She could be Bloody Tan. In other words, if he's a kandra, he could have killed her via hemalurgy, stole her powers, and taken her form to spread more chaos. It would also explain his crazy reflexes in AoL.
  24. When you refer to sunglasses as "Warrior's Lenses"
  25. Honestly, to me it parallels when Vin duralumin-pewter headbutts that guy's skull into pieces back in Well of Ascension.
