We'll obviously the agricultural industry isn't doing that bad, since we know that they're making cola on a large scale factory, since it's being shipped country wide, and we know that sugar cane is a major ingredient in cola. Since sugarcane is a relatively small crop in comparison to beans and corn, we can infer that Smallville, Kansas still stands. david's first plan was to get superman to fight the epics.

What if he gets cake powers!?!?!?! *gasp*
-
Wait.. You work at Wikipedia? Jk.
-
No. I am simple suggesting we should all stay calm, and interrogate the cake closely... He may be an Epic...

Edit: Oh my, this is frightening. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_films_with_a_0%_rating_on_Rotten_Tomatoes Well, looks like we have some new torture equipment for our epic overlords. What the actual heck. MANY of those movies were 'money grab' movies that studios made very quickly and trashy for money, no were near as good as the first

It would make sense in both ways. Epics do strange things, and often do things just to kill their superior epic to ensure safety of themsleves. As David figured out, 'In an Epic's core, there is fear.' Wouldn't it make sense that Regalia was trying to kill them most powerful epic she knew p, who's also working to kill large City running Epics like her?
-
Ok I have to back up the 'immoral evil death bringer' version of Regalia. Even if her plan could've worked on paper, she'd obviously seen enough readings, possibly even some of High Epics, and wouldntve know what Phadreus was gonna do. If she wanted the Reckoners dead, which is controversial, she got it. Regalia, in her own definition, are 'The point after an epic gets their powers, and feels an overwhelming urge to kill those closest to them, who know him best, who might be able to find out their weakness.' Prof did just that, evident in the book and excerpt.

Heat Obliteration Unleashed- Mathematically
TheSpartanDuck replied to Blackhoof's topic in The Reckoners
I skipped typing a lot of my calculations since they were boring but I wrote them on paper, checked on calculator and wrote them in notes. EDIT: ok I do need a unit of mass to put into my calculations.. I overlooked that in my speedy calculations and didn't take my time. Again, my science AND math teachers would kick me to France... Even IF BOTH of theme are way too lazy and idiotic to attempt to do half of the calculations I just did.. Even if half of it was incorrect. I will fix this in my next half of the post, but that more than likely won't come out until... Either next Wednesday or next weekend. Sorry guys, my calculations were crap. I sped through (even if I did take an hour, which is speedy to my standard) calculations. I'll fix em. -
Heat Obliteration Unleashed- Mathematically
TheSpartanDuck replied to Blackhoof's topic in The Reckoners
This is part of my second part of the calculations. Concrete has never been recorded to have a melting point, however there is a point that in which concrete degrades into the many materials it is made of. The degration point of concrete is recorded to be 450-550* Celsius, so I safely split the difference since much of Houston's buildings are neither very old or very new. Using a conversion calculator, I converted 500* Celsius to joules, and got 949,550.25 Joules. Since we're doing calculations in Farenheight, we have to multiply 949,550.25 Joules by 33.80 Farenheight, since 1* Celsius= 33.80* Farenheight. You get 32,094,798.45. Steel has a recorded melting point, and it is 1,370* Celsius. I used the conversion calculator and got 2,601,767.685 Joules. Then I multiplied that by 33.800 to get 87,939,747.753 joules . The amount of joules that are required to be emitted to destroy all of Houston is 810,334,800,000,000 joules, which is a towing amount over the required 32,094,798.45 joules and the 87,939,747.753 joules needed to melt and degrade and destroy the buildings of Houston. By converting Kinetic Energy to Heat Energy to Tempeture back to Heat Energy to Kinetic Energy we can figure that my original calculation matches with the story and is EASILY enough to completly destroy, degrade, and decentagrate concrete and mortar, and BOIL steel. -

Heat Obliteration Unleashed- Mathematically

Well I started doing research and part of the story doesn't make sense. Concrete CANT MELT. It has never been recorded to have a melting point, and most sky scrapers are shelled in concrete... -
Heat Obliteration Unleashed- Mathematically
TheSpartanDuck replied to Blackhoof's topic in The Reckoners
Yeah I was going to try and explain that in the next section of my calculations, but that might thanks some time. I'm gonna need to find what building material in Houston has the highest melting temp, and then will need to convert and find the amount of degrees to the amout of Joules, wich would then add to the original Joule count, if 810,334,800,000,000 Joules isn't already enough kinetic energy converted into heat energy to melt metals and concrete. -

Dood. I litterally JUST SAID THAT!!! And btw the unit we've been measuring in is just Joukes, so kiloJoules is incorrect when you said that the Hiroshima bomb was 60 bil kilaJoules. It's 63 TRILLION JOULES. -
Why People Are Chosen As Epics /Spoilers/
TheSpartanDuck replied to TheSpartanDuck's topic in The Reckoners
Ok sorry spent last hour doing calculations. A.) Yes, I read and remember that Val and David talked in the sub about that take down, and how Sam had later after that mission had 'found El Brass Bullish Dude's arm three streets over' after the Epic had throw a tank through the command post's wall and she claimed in for safety. (I might be wrong, I think he was in New Mexico, but it was either Mexico or New Mexico) B.) I had some ideas for Obliteration's weakness, but nothing can be considered correct until Calamity comes out, because we have no idea EXACTLY what Regalia's surgery did to Obliteration, besides just giving his cool down time nearly instant. The operation mighta made his power even more complex and difficult to get to, but he was already so complex... C.) I have a hunch that Obliteration will come back in Calamity and be a help in containing Prof, killing Calamity, and just being an overall help. This is backed up by Obliteration saying that mysterious line at the end when he left and was very... Understanding? Also, I HIGHLY doubt that ONLY MEGAN who JUST learned to calmly control and empower herself using her abilities, and not be consumed by her evils will be enough to kill the original Epic, and contain/kill the most powerful Epic alive. And if David DOES have powers, well, he JUST got them, and it will be difficult for him to find his weakness, control it, and fight to the best ability. They also hint that the Reckoners, or well, MORE than hint, OUTRIGHT STATE, that they'll need other Epics to fight 'an Epic war.' A 'war they wouldn't've started if they knew they couldn't win.' -
Heat Obliteration Unleashed- Mathematically
TheSpartanDuck replied to Blackhoof's topic in The Reckoners
Ok, I'm honestly not seeing any of y'all's POV, so I'm going to do my own calculations using the Bombing of Hiroshima as a base. The one thing ya'll neglected to do was go off of a physical event that has scientificly been recorded, not using straight up estimates. The equation of Joule transfer in the bombing of Hiroshima, with an Atomic Bomb, (which btw flattened an entire city, just like in Huston's case) was 6.3•(10 to the power of 13) joules. That's 63,000,000,000,000 joules of energy. Also, the conversion can be used in this calculation as well. 4.181 is the amount of joules in one ton of TNT. The amount of tons in the bomb dropped on Hiroshima was 15 kilotons. There are 1000 tons in a kiloton. So to find the amount of joules in the bomb on Hiroshima, 4.181•(10 to the power of 9)= 4,181,000,000 joules. Then we have to multiple that by 1000 to equal a kiloton= 4,181,000,000,000 joules. Multiple the result by 15 to get 62,760,000,000,000,000 joules of energy transferred instantly. Accounting for the shock wave of the blast, and the destruction of power plants and explosives in Hiroshima, it easily rounds up to 63,000,000,000,000 joules. Hiroshima's area is 349.4 mi squared. (From this point I did all my work on my calculator) Houston's area is 627 mi squared Houston is 1.8 times bigger than Hiroshima There was 179.5 joules of energy per square mile in Hiroshima, so by using my formula, we can formulate how many Joules of energy it would take to destroy Houston. By multiplying 179.5 by 1.8 we can determine how many joules per square area there were in the blast of Houston. Then by multiplying that number by the area of Houston. 179.5•1.8= 323.1 joules of energy per square mile in Houston. 323.1•627= 202,583.7. 202,583.7•4•(10 to the power of 9). The final total of the amount of Joules that it would take to destroy Houston is ... DRUM ROLL PLEASE!..... 810,334,800,000,000 joules of energy. That's an incredible amout of energy. This is only the first half of my calculation's but I have more where I'll explain how many tons, kilotons, and if Obliteration could actually store that much energy in just a single week, and if not, how much he'd have to magnify the energy and heat in his body to produce the required 810,334,800,000,000 joules to destroy 627 squared miles worth of real estate. -

Why People Are Chosen As Epics /Spoilers/

The term PI and High Epic is just a matter of opinion, but yes, I went back and double checked, and I AM correct. El Brass Bullish Dude is mentioned in Firefight, and is claimed to have PI,'but we still can't deter if High Epic and PI go hand in hand. (Well they kinda do but...) We don't have any evidence of any High Epics not having PI, (again, that is if you count Regalia as a High Epic,) but we do have evidence of some lower Epics having some forms PI, ex. Newton, Fortuity. I suppose there could be some High Epics who DONT have PI... -
I so agree. There was this Economy commercial on around voting time last year here in my home town about how , "Vote Mr. NAME AND ADDRESS WITHHELD, and stop fracking in our beautiful state." I laughed so hard at dinner I shot water out of my nose. ...did anyone get the spongebob reference...
