That is a better name, though the Kholin Alight had a nice abstract feel to it. It does change the subject a bit so it's not so much about the Kholin Family as about the... Shattered Plains But I did listen to your other piece on Soundcloud and it sounds great! Mmm, if I'm not too forward, I've also uploaded a fan song and thought you might like to hear it.

I like puns, and thank you for allowing me to use your artwork! You can see the topic I posted with my song here, or just visit the YouTube video. I put credits in the post and video description. x) And I also used your artwork for my bandcamp song artwork. I hope that isn't going too far... Thanks again. Oh, and I also used another artists work as you'll notice. The two go together well in my opinion as a Shallan before, and a more confident Shallan after. -
After a few weeks of working on this, here's my fan piece following the events in Shallan Davar's life Starting with the lullaby and ending... well. Just listen to it: So, I've uploaded it on YouTube. You can read a little more about it in the description there, but I'll put something here that I didn't put there: a timeline of the events happening at certain parts of the song. And yeah, it'll have to be in spoilers. Note: Major spoilers... Only read this if you've read both the current Stormlight Archive books. Though I did this in the video description, I'd also like to thank the two artists whose work I used in the video, Grant M Hansen and Johanna Ruprecht. They have websites here and here respectively. Anyway, hope you enjoy. It turned out much differently than I imagined, but I think it still captures what I was trying to convey in most ways.

Thanks again for this, I found some awesome artwork. I want to be all proper and stuff, so I've asked for permission to use certain artwork in my music vid, so if I get any replies, I'll share something with you all then. In the meantime, I'll fix a few things in the piece that I've noticed...

Well, this composition is played by sounds on my computer, so it could be said a computer. However, it's meant to sound like an orchestra and I've written a short symphony which was performed by an orchestra, so I think I can say I'm composing for all the instruments in the orchestra. I've also written a few string quartets. As far as good composing goes, I'm probably the best with strings as almost my whole (did I mention large) family plays a string instrument or piano. I myself play the Viola.

Thanks for all the awesome replies! I have one quick question for y'all. I've finally finished as far as I'll be able to a 7 minute orchestral piece which basically follows Shallan Davar's life story that we know of at this point. I'm actually well pleased with how it came out and can't wait to share it with y'all in the Creative Corner. However, I'm going to upload it to YT and I want to have some cool fan artwork for it, but I'm not sure what artwork to use. Any suggestions?

Ok, I quickly put this together. Sorry, I probably didn't mix it the best (piano too loud), but school just started and I'm getting back into that and also writing my own Sanderson Fan music If you want to know, the piano is one from Miroslav Philharmonik and the violin is from East-West Quantum Leap Symphonic Orchestra. Maybe if I get time later I'll fix it up, but imho it sounds much better than Sibelius' version.

Your file is titled Alethkar Alight. Did you decide to change it after you started? Anyway, I don't have Sibelius really, and I have an old version of Finale, but your piece is short enough I can input it manually (I have a USB keyboard) into a DAW and use some VST Instruments for it. We'll see how it turns out.

Hey! I'm new to this forum, though I've been reading on it for a little while. My name is Herman Fassett and Brandon Sanderson is my favorite author. Sorry for my cheesy username... My favorite book of his is Words of Radiance. I like all of his other books too (I've read almost all of them), but the Stormlight Archive, most especially Words of Radiance, is just amazing. I've always wanted to create fan art. But I'm terrible at drawing. I can however sort of write music, so you may see some songs from me in the Creator's Corner soon. Actually, I'm working on one right now that follows Shallan's life We'll see how it turns out. Anyway, glad to join finally, and I know I'll have a good time.

Hey, you have great ideas. However, you could use some better sounds My siblings, of which there are many, are all musical and we have a smattering of Violinists and Pianists, but I don't have a good Mic or I might get them to record this. But I do have some better sounding software. Maybe I'll fix this up a little if you would like that? I'll just change the sounds. Anyway, great musical ideas here. I'm also a composer of sorts and I hope to make some fan music too Hope to hear more!
