  1. A very interesting and enjoyable game! Thanks to Fifth and Devotary for running it!

Rand, even if they had tried to lynch me, it would have taken two days. I had three charges of zinc the whole game, none of which I wound up using. :P

And, by the way, you did indeed have me completely fooled. I think much of the problem was that I was relying on my original analysis post overly much instead of actually reading through previous cycles- next Long Game I think I might actually have to make the stereotypical corkboard-with-yarn just to keep track of everything.

I would definitely play this again with the same r(o)(u)les; I think it's a very interesting design with lots of room for players to innovate and play their own way without losing too much in the way of balance.

In terms of what actually happened, I think both teams had their moments of luck, and apparently so did I personally- the spec/dead doc said I dodged no less than four kill attempts with my impeccable skill at being obliviously lucky! Obviously two Spiked were killed at night, but to be fair they did pick out our Feruchemist almost right away for their end.

And, most importantly of all: I am honored to receive the leadership of the Synod by virtue of being the only candidate remaining, and would like to assure everyone still alive that this was most certainly 100% guaranteed not my fiendish plan all along at all whatsoever. I will rule with wisdom and no suspicious bits of metal. Trust me. And there's no way I'm using any other character ever again.

  2. I don't think today's lynch is handing the Elims anything even if we are wrong. There are seven people left, and the Spiked have already had a Full Feruchemist, a Pewter ferring, and a Zinc ferring, which I would submit are the three most powerful roles. Even if we get it wrong today AND tomorrow, as long as villagers don't send in kill orders, it'll still be 2-1 in our favor. Obviously, I'm not advocating that we should get it wrong, but it's not as big a deal as some have said.

  3. So, I still don't think there were two Spiked in the Synod, and because of that I'm certain the last Spiked lies somewhere within Xino, Stick, Cadmium, Ark, and Jondesu. Obviously, one of those is in fact a Synod member but given that they haven't revealed their identity to the thread yet I will respect their wishes and let them remain anonymous.

Stick and Cadmium are the only ones of those two who have posted anything of substance, both with longer posts regarding their suspicions. Stick's was on Kidpen ultimately and last night Cadmium posted a longer accusation of myself. Despite that, I don't think they're Spiked.

I'll vote for Xino, as the most suspicious IMO of those 5. Xino, Ark, Jondesu, what are your thoughts on the remaining players? Who do you think could be the last Spiked?

  4. I’ll be at a computer in about six hours (and I’m barely sapient at the moment) , but for now I think the most important question is whether we think there’s another Spiked in the Synod: me, Bort, or the third member whose anonymity I will protect at this time. It’s true we haven’t found any Spiked since Kidpen, but everyone we’ve targeted the thread thought was suspicious too.

  5. Count OlafLeidene. Devotary, that newspaper is amazing.

Rand, I'd tend to think the same way as you in regards to Jondesu and the others, with the caveat that I have some additional information about a few that makes them less suspicious in my mind.

The order of suspicion off the top of my head:

Steeldancer, Jondesu, Xino, I'm Pretty, Ark, Bort, Stick, Cadmium, yourself.

  6. I will say this much: the Synod attempted to kill Sart last night, but we were very unlucky. As far as I know, there was no village kill directed at Cadmium, and the fact that they were protected is not suspicious.

Despite how much I suspected Sart, as of this day I now have reason not to: I successfully roleblocked him last night and yet the Spiked kill and another attack that was most likely from the Spiked went through. Unless someone admits to attacking Cadmium, there's no way for Sart to be Spiked. I'm assuming the Spiked have two members left and they prioritize thinning our herd, which means one of them put in an attack and the other did the Spiked kill.

With that in mind, I'll vote and urge others to vote for Steeldancer. The last thing Kidpen did, knowing he was dead, was attempt to distance himself from Steel, and adding that to all the other reasons I've posted in earlier cycles to be suspicious of them, I'm confident they're one of the remaining Spiked.

Adding my vote for Synod leader: phattemer. A bit about myself: I've been a successful Synod member since its founding, and I was the driving force behind the execution of a highly dangerous Spiked ferring. I am entirely devoted to the organization and would be eternally grateful for the opportunity to serve as its leader.

  7. Alright, here we go. *cracks knuckles*  I'm going to be looking at last cycle's votes and posts in general, the final results, and how all of that affects my previous reads:

So, Day 3. Lots of stuff went down.

Sart votes for me, given Araris was Spiked and he tried to get the lynch off me, while Alvron was voting for me. This was Day 2, in which Snip was ultimately killed. I don't really think I need to go into why that's not a pretty good case, given that after last cycle anyone who still thinks I'm Spiked believes me to be a lot more tricky than I could handle.

Steeldancer jumps on, also votes for me. These two feel a lot like the three somewhat random votes on Rand at the beginning of the day before last, by Araris(Spiked), Steeldancer, and WfY.

Cadmium then posts an analysis of Araris, which in their opinion points to Rand.

Rand's analysis of Araris points to Sart, me, WfY, and Rath.

My Synod claim, where I become suspicious of Rath, Kidpen, Steel, and Sart.

Steel continues to, IMO, tunnel me despite that, but despite that I find myself being less suspicious of them now since it seems almost too ostentatious for a Spiked to be so determined.

    The votes:

    Phattemer (1): Steeldancer
    Randuir (2): Cadmium Compounder, Sart
Kidpen (6): Rathmaskal, Stick, Phattemer, Randuir, Xinoeph, Bort
    Cadmium Compounder (1): Jondesu
    Worldhopper from Yolen (1): Ark/Pretty
    Sart (1): Kidpen

I'm willing to tentatively clear Rath and Stick, and even Rand, but Xino especially and to a lesser degree Bort are still up there.

My final thoughts: the last two elims are probably from among Xino, WfY, Sart, Jondesu, and Ark. Of them, I'd say Sart is my top choice, then Wino or WfY, and I don't have a ton of info on Jondesu or Ark.

  8. I’ll be home in ~5 hours and will post thoughts and suggestions as to where we go from there at that time- a brief note that I very much doubt any Elim would have voted for their Sparker unless it was an absolute lost cause or their vote would be canceled, and especially given that one person’s switching from Kidpen to Rand in addition to the vote manipulation would have tied the vote, the people who wound up on Kid are soft-cleared in my mind.

  9. Earlier I mentioned I was suspicious of Kidpen and Sart, and despite the nature of their interaction above I'd like to caution that they still could easily both be Spiked merely looking to distance themselves from each other. With that in mind, I'll switch back to Kidpen. (Steeldancer)

And I'd still love a few more responses to the Synod question.

  10. Worldhopper, if you think there's only one Spiked, it's impossible for me to be guilty. Araris and I were both in the Synod, and he was a Spiked. Seeing as it's been quite a while and no one has claimed I didn't say who I am in the Synod, which would guarantee I was lying about it, your two points are internally inconsistent.

  11. If we can agree that there's only one Spiked in the Synod, and since one Spiked in the Synod has died, that would mean anyone else in there was safe. So the question is, if you were one of the Spiked in the doc, would you ever suggest there could be two of you, or would you dismiss it if you even decided to bring it up in the first place? And the converse: if you were a Spiked alone in the doc, you would ever pass up the opportunity to make the village exactly this paranoid if you died by mentioning there could be another one, and you would never suggest there was definitely only one for fear of having the remaining members band together. I'll change my vote: Kidpen Steeldancer

I also would very much like other people's reactions to my claim:

Do you agree that there was almost certainly only one Spiked, and if not, why?

Do you have ideas as to what should go on in the Synod doc now, and what?

  12. 11 minutes ago, Steeldancer said:

saying to be careful is a way to get into the village's good graces. I take nothing for granted, and I'm suspicious of you. Frankly, the number of spiked in the doc doesn't concern me. I just want all the spiked dead, wherever they are. Saying 1-2 doesn't lose him anything even if there is 1-2 or even 3. It didn't work out well for him anyway, but not because of anything related to the synod. Anyway, I gotta go.

Whether we have three people confirmed safe doesn't concern you? That's frankly either ridiculous or Spiked.

  13. So you don't agree with the reasoning that had there been multiple Spiked, Araris would have said it was most likely there was one? He said earlier that we had to be careful that there could be multiple, and that would completely be against his interests if there were multiple since it would be quite simple to say there was almost certainly one.
