  1. If you're going to ask her in person, bring flowers! Flowers make everything easier
  2. This way of saying goodbye is quite familiar to what happens when my family meets. I don't think it's really Jewish specific "problem"
  3. Maybe just ask her how would she like to handle this situation?
  4. Too much 50 shades of grey I guess...
  5. 18 in some countries Anyway, it would be wiser to start with more traditional approach I guess...
  6. Well, the main difference is that you can find calcium in milk and many other different daily food products. You won't find antihistamines or painkillers in you sandwich or coffee (with milk)
  7. I don't agree it should be downvoted so I fixed it My favorite thing to put on a sandwich (excluding sweet things like Nutella and honey) is yellow cheese + mayonnaise + onion + salt. I can eat this combination whole day
  8. @Pestis the Spider I think that your reluctance to meds isn't a bad thing. I think our society is getting addicted to painkillers for example. Taking a painkiller almost every day doesn't sound too healthy... so I try to live without those simple meds as much as I can. For allergies, maybe some calcium would help? There are calcium tabs dissolving in water that help me if I have a bigger allergy problem (pollens :/)
  9. Your relationships with Marmite, Vegemite and Nutella are fascinating
  10. I thought exactly the same thing... Anyway, I'd wanted to contribute to the topic, but Mistrunner is flooded with advice, my relationship is stable, so I'll just suggest painting the spoon in some bright color to make it even more fun
  11. I've read that in the voice of David Attenborough
  12. And I think I'm still the NFL... I don't even know the rules of american football
  13. And how do you suggest we do that? Demolish all the cities and rebuild them to have better layout?
  14. No idea how that happened but my fiancee's Samsung Galaxy's screen cracked while simply lying on the desk. You are not alone *hug*
  15. @bleederit's generally advised to avoid double-posting (writing two post after one another). You can edit your old post instead writing a new one.
  16. @Claincylooks cool but painful
  17. Maybe that's not too visible on the photo but I can bend my thumb almost 90 degrees back (if pressed against something). It freaks out some people I know. I've never said it's cool
  18. @Doctor12 grt some good sleep. Tell your family and friends that they'd have to wait, that you have too much on your head right now. Go to the gym, have a walk, any physical activity should help you relax a bit. After a break focus on the things that cannot be postponed like exams and homework (I don't know if you're still in school). Make priority list of things you want to do and do them one at a time. Don't hate yourself because you're tired. Everyone needs a break from time to time. Everyone is less productive for a couple of days once in a while. You're trying hard to satisfy others and you're forgetting to take care of yourself. And seriously, intense physical activity can do wonders to the way you feel. It will also help you sleep better
  19. I have a job interview soon and I'm supposed to dress "smart casual". What does that mean? Internet isn't really helpful as the definitions are very diverse... would black Adidas shoes, jeans, a shirt and sport jacket be OK? (I'm applying for Software Engineer position and I have read that recruiters have generally lower expectations in this area for my kind :P)
  20. I'm almost 27 and I have similar problems with my face every time I eat/drink too much milk based products. Maybe you have the same problem? Make a simple experiment, when you have nothing on your face, treat yourself with super milky day or two. If you get reaction on your skin after 1-2 days you'll know it's the case
  21. Slow down, don't toss yourself at everything at once. Try to write a schedule for your next week, where you'll plan some time to do things you want to do. Then, no matter if there are other things still to be done, stick to the schedule and do what you want with the time! Remember to take care of yourself, there's not point in working yourself to death What was so frustrating?
  22. 1. Buildings in small towns in Europe are much older than in America. This comes from what we've seen on the tornado discussion. In USA you make cheap houses with wooden walls etc. In Europe we use bricks mostly. That way, a home built 3-4 generations ago can still serve as decent place to live. 2. It's more visible in big towns, but I think it applies to smaller towns too. The street layout. In USA you usually have a nice grid, most of the street intersecting perpendicularly. In Europe streets are wild. Just look at the image below. I think it holds true for smaller towns too. 3. Cars. From what I've seen on TV Americans have bigger cars. Also almost everyone in US has a car. In Europe I think cars are smaller and not that common. I mean, families usually have a car, but not more than one. 4. Gardens/the area around the house. I can't put my finger on it, but there is just something different about the look and feel of the gardens. If I'll think of something else I'll let you know
  23. Just imagine how fun it would be if 10 users changed their name to Chaos on April Fools day there would be chaos ^^
  24. If the shard isn't lying to me, it's @Kaymyth birthday! Harpoon birthday and good luck for our forum mom EDIT: autocorrect made my wish quite interesting... I'm gonna leave it that way
  25. I'm still waiting for @The Young Bard and @Mistrunner to post their perspectives...
