Source: To my understanding, this WoB would indicate that the bond with the corresponding spren is being stolen. Granted, it doesn't specify a live or dead sprenblade, so there is some wiggle-room.

I believe duralumin is one of the metals revealed in the caverns in HoA. Rashek knew about it, but suppressed widespread knowledge of it.

There's a WoB that's currently escaping me that kandra are able to move their bindpoints to the spikes, rather than having to place the spikes in the correct position. If anyone can find it, that would be great.

Compounding, as we know it, increases the Feruchemical attribute stored in the burning metalmind, not Allomantic power. There is a way to increase allomantic power, but we don't know how yet.

My understanding is this: Nightblood was created to imitate Shardblades and/or Honorblades. However, Shardblades are Splinters in physical form. I don't know much about Breath, but I don't think it's possible to make Breath coalesce into something tangible, so the Scholars had to use something already physical, and put the Splinters into it. The intricacies of Awakening meant they had to give the Breaths a Command, and Nightblood was "born". I don't personally think that Nightblood will give Szeth a Surge of any kind, mainly because his sentience does not come from Honor, Cultivation or a combination of the two.

This thread may be of interest. Hoid is not Returned. The question of his incarnation, however, is an interesting one.

Gurren Lagann (spoilers for Mistborn and Gurren Lagann)
Ascendant Warrior replied to Murali18's topic in Mistborn
Well according to Wikipedia, Mistborn: The Final Empire was released before the first episode of Gurren Lagann, so if anything, it's the other way around. -
Same here, and I listen mostly at work, so my attention tends to be divided more than it probably should while reading Sanderson.

If you suddenly saw what could only be the spirit of a dead loved one, wouldn't you start acting erratically? I seem to remember something about rogue kandra, but don't know where it is right now...

This post made me think that at some point of gold savantism or gold+duralumin, you may become your gold shadow; a sort of low-tech personal forgery. It may be a long shot, but it could be very interesting.

I think the idea is that Vin flares tin often to clear her head after being dazed. In this sense, I think it may be possible.

Even though this quote is paraphrased, I doubt this has anything to do with Frost. The "very rare" instance of Shards changing hands is referring to Sazed.

Also remember that SA is essentially 2 different series of 5 books each. Some characters will cross over (those that were more minor in the front 5 will be major in the back 5, and vice versa), and the series will continue with its same themes and overall plot. That said, I agree with ParadoxSpren that some of the characters we know will still play prominent roles in the back 5. I believe I read that Brandon will take about a 5 year break between Arc 1 and Arc 2, which correlates to the 5 Roshar years in between the 2 arcs.

Mapping features onto Aons
Ascendant Warrior replied to Landis963's topic in Elantris and Emperor's Soul
Source Edit: fixed link. -
Just because we see in-book that driving blades into the ground to pass them off doesn't mean it's the only way to pass on a Shardblade. In WoR chapter 14, Salinor just holds it and breaks the bond that way.

I doubt this is the case. Even if it were just the Honorblades all being together, Jezrien's blade is gone (Szeth) and Nalan has taken his blade back. Taln is also still bound to the Oathpact, even if we're not sure about his whereabouts.

From the Coppermind article on savants. There's no source, so I take it with a grain of salt. I'm still looking for others. I will edit if I find anymore. Edit: Found it in the Hero of Ages Epigraphs, Chapter 16, emphasis mine. That said though, Sazed's knowledge may be incomplete and Vin sensing the Well is a part of her savantism. I'm partial to the theory that it was Ruin's influence that made her still sense the Well when she wasn't burning bronze.

Ah, thank you. Things you miss when you only listen to the books...

WoB is Word of Brandon. Anything he has said in interviews, AMA, signings, you name it.

Not sure if this is the right place for it, but in Alloy of Law: In the preview: Is this an error, or just a symbolic sisterhood?

Devotion, Dominion, and Magic on Sel
Ascendant Warrior replied to KChan's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I always saw this as simple world-building. After all, our world has given names and structure to series of stars that are not related in any way. It's likely that Selians have done the same thing, but instead of looking for a pattern that is vaguely bear-shaped, they look for something vaguely shaped like Aons. -
Are We Being Too Biased towards Odium?
Ascendant Warrior replied to teknopathetic's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I think contact may be necessary, but I do not see something ethereal as needing to be held physically. I imagine it is more of a mental intake of power. The intent is most likely what matters, not the actual movement, though it probably helps to demonstrate the intent. -
Installing Windows 7 on Mac

I'll give that a try, thanks. I very well could just be overthinking this process.
