Well... We could call them something along the lines of Shyblades! Rather than cutting through the spirit, it cuts a person's social life away!

"I agree... But, I think it is right to assume that we have a large number of wonderfully nerdy members, so either the swords will end up mounted on our walls or, as I'm my case, we spent so much time obsessing over the Glorious Knights Radiant that we took sword fighting lessons!"

The shattering does not actually cut you, it merely releases the kinetic energy of the orb funnelled into the target. And it's good that the orbs do roughly that much damage, the orbs are meant to be more of a distraction or delay tactic. His field limbs are his main form of attack. They are hard and fast enough to snap bones, and as they remain closer to him they are far more durable.

Yeah, that is why I chose that speed. However, if he has limbs already extended that far, he can move it at a very high speed, so it takes a small amount of time to extend the field, but once they are extended, they are far more dangerous. I also want his spheres to be able to cover the same distance (10m) in half a second, but as I have a horrible sense of time, I'm not sure if that is too fast.

Ok, so with help from the suggestions of Mckeedee123 (and a few twists of my own), I have written a more comprehensive description of his powers. Thanks again! Calyx is able to use force fields, but he can manipulate the shape and placement of them to use them far more offensively than defensively, such as creating limbs out of force fields to strike enemies or coating his body in a force field and moving it quickly to increase his speed or fly. To balance this versatile ability, he has a rather short range, his fields destabilising and failing if they get to far away. He also has claustrophobia, making him less likely to use this ability in a purely defensive manner. There are some clear limitations on his powers, which are as follows: -Force fields can only be created within 1 meter of Calyx's physical body, but can be then moved out to at maximum ten meters before destabilising (This will force him to attack with projectiles or limbs instead of doing the force field stuff that qualifies as insta-kills.) -All forcefields are spherical when created, and take time to manipulate. It takes roughly three seconds to reshape a shower into a sword, and if he creates a sphere in his outstretched hand and extends it, it takes five seconds to travel to his maximum of ten meters (this gives faster characters a chance to dodge, and sets a reasonable measure on the speed of his fields.) -Force fields are strong if they form a continuous, solid shape but if they are not they shatter very easily (so basically, the fields aren't really flat planes, but take the form of a gelatinous mass that Calyx manipulates however he wants. This also causes his projectile spheres to shatter upon impact, releasing their kinetic energy.) -The force fields are fairly light (as opposed to heavy. They bruise people, maybe break some bones when they hit, but don't tear people apart with the concentrated force of a locomotive engine.)

I actually really like that idea, I think I will go with it. The only one I have any issues with is that they have to form a constant shape, as I have imagined him firing off orbs, and that doesn't really seem congruent with the limitations set above. Perhaps they are stronger if they form a solid shape, but if they are not they shatter very easily, that way, I can see him firing an orb, it hitting someone and shattering. It has a cool visual effect (which is half the fun really), it makes it so that then the orbs are really the only viable form of attack outside these limitations, and we can still have these rules set in place to more clearly define the powers. Thanks very much for suggesting them!

He could, but I can say that I don't see his character doing it and as such won't write it in. I was thinking of them being highly durable but not indestructible, for example if someone a bit stronger than bubbles (who seems the most physically focused of the Corvallis epics, though I am making the assumption that she is very, very strong) were to beat on a shield for about a minute it could shatter, but he can summon some more to compensate. However, if someone was strong/fast enough to destroy them quicker than he could react or when he wasn't expecting it, he could be vulnerable.

Hello all! I would like to join, and I present my talking sword (who is infinitely more capable than I am) Silvermind! Her commands are "mediate arguments, keep me from procrastinating and remind me how emotions work". *Hello there, nice to meet you all. I would speak in italics, but iPads are primitive devices that make such things difficult. I look forward to talking with other swords like myself. Oh, we could discuss philosophy! I have recently been taking classes with my wielder, it is fascinating! I have never met another talking sword, but I would very much like to get to know you all!*

BramFinem looks at this odd beverage suspiciously. "Root? As in... Square root? No no no, please keep your strange beverages to yourself. Now, I realised that in my haste to begin my quest, I forgot to actually do anything. Still, it warms my heart to see people actually swearing to the Order or Rolesmiths, I thought I was alone. Happy writing to you all!

First of all, thanks for telling me about the other forcefield users, as I am sorry to say that I have only read through Corvallis in full (though I am starting on Portland at the moment). I agree with the idea that they can't be summoned inside a solid object or organic object, and my thought on how they would be created is that they all start of as spheres, cand he then shapes them however he feels, which is why he wil more often thrash at his enemies with almost tentacle like limbs protruding from the field around him, it is simply quicker than shaping a sword (but he may do it sometimes for a bit of dramatic flair. As to the crushing within forcefields, because of the way I picture him fighting he is not partial to doing that, more likely to punch someone with a field-strengthened fist or blast them with a small round shield. And finally, while I like the idea of the calcium, it doesn't quite fit with my idea of the character. I will not I'd down somewhere, as I have pages and pages of cool power ideas and characters I write when I'm bored, and it never hurts to keep a few ideas around!

Ok, so in response to the questions, no one can pass through them, even him, though light and air can. Pretty standard so that force fielders don't suffocate inside their fields. His are similarly almost paper thin, but think of a green lantern construct, he would create essentially a hollow shape that is still strong as it is a force field. And lastly, he does need to be careful in not moving too fast, but I do think he would be able to fly and move pretty fast, but he would feel an unpleasant tugging sensation. I had considered giving him a minor healing power to offset this, but I didn't want to make his power set to similar to prof. Yes, I have indeed read calamity, and was a bit iffy on the changing of how weaknesses work, though I won't say more as I still can't spoiler tag. Yes, he can change their shape after creating them. For example, i mentioned above how he could do a move similar to the octopus waterbenders move, creating limbs out of face fields that would thrash around him, moving like water. This would require the shape to change to get that water-like effectEdit: Sorry about the near-blank post above, my mistake. I have just had a though: most forcefields work by simply being an invulnerable object, and while his forcefields have the similar indestructibility, he can cause them to have a different effect if he wills it, to cancel kinetic momentum that hits them. This way he could catch a falling ally without injuring them, capture enemies whiteout injuring them, and use this feature to make sure he doesn't splat while moving fast, as when he hits the inside of the forcefield it would simply dissipate the kinetic energy. I did consider having this be the main facet of his power, but then his fields should not be an effective melee weapon.

The doors fly open, and a shadowy figure strikes a pose. After a few seconds of awkward silence, they sag slightly and begin to walk inside. Immediately, a flash of lightning illuminates the room, and he desperatly tries to resume his pose, but he is too late. "Sigh" "Hello, there people I don't know and the two I vaguely remember. I have finally returned from my long trip. I have gone to the far reaches of the land...s bookstores, and constricted a set of statistics for each and every character mentioned by name in a Cosmere story based on the Mistborn Adventure Game! I assume that the rest of you have been similarly productive?"

He can get his forcefields to extend to around ten meters around him in a radius, after which they will begin to weaken and break down. He can shape them however he wants, usually being very blunt, couch as tentacle type appendages (think the water octopus move for waterbenders from Avatar) but he can also form shields, blades if he was so inclined, orbs etc. Forcefields can be counted as a prime invincibility I believe, but as they wont activate if he is in danger automatically I don't think they are counted.

I have an epic that I would like to introduce to Corvallis, but I am wondering how he will be received as they already have bubbles, another forcefield user. My character, Calyx (Latin for shell) uses his forcefields quite differently though. He is able to use force fields, but he can manipulate the shape and placement of them to use them far more offensively than defensively, such as creating limbs out of force fields to strike enemies or coating his body in a force field and moving it quickly to increase his speed or fly. To balance this versatile ability, he has a rather short range, his fields destabilising and failing if they get to far away. He also has claustrophobia, making him less likely to use this ability in a purely defensive manner. As I am on mobile I am unable to use spoiler tags as seems to be the norm for epics on this thread, so I apologise for any inconvenience this causes. The RPG seems highly interesting so far, and I hope that this is acceptable!

I notice that there are only nine orders, as opposed to ten. May I put forth another? The order of the Rolesmiths I will bind others together with fictional narratives I will battle on, even if my fictional characters fall around me I shall raise my strength stat to defend those without, even at the cost of my resources I offer the oaths: Books before friends, 17th shard before reality, release dates before birthdays! Edit: I don't know what surges they may have... Role playing and Obsessiveness?

Hello there. I am a big fan of infinity blade, and I noticed while playing that there seem to be some coincidences. There is an armour set called shardplate, a blade called shard, and an odium armour set! Is it coincidences, or have the world hoppers been meddling...

Thanks, this helps a lot. I think you are right on both counts, but I don't think I worded it right when I asked. What I was trying to ask is if someone was actually turned into ash due to forgery, when it wore off would they return to their previous state or would they be unable to as they would have collapsed into a little pile, like how when jhasna soul casts something into smoke it can't be turned back because it disperses.

Hello there! I am new to the forums, having read vigorously and wanting to post something for a while. So I decided, hey, why not Forgery! It is one of the most interesting magic systems in my eyes. I have two main thoughts I wanted some opinion on. 1: if you had a very basic soul stamp with vague history that could describe any one that would make them have been, say, incinerated and burned to ash, would it hold for any period of time and if so, if the ash collapses could they revert to their previous state? And 2: if somehow a peice of hemalurgic metal with forgery 'in' it was put in a scadrian (let's say harmony is messing around) would they have to change the base design from MaiPon into their home city, or would the origional owners spiritual connection to MaiPon carry over? I would love to hear some ideas, and if anyone is interested in some more strange ideas, then I posted a personal list of epic God metals inspired by the thread about it on there. Bye!

Here are the rest I thought of. I had some trouble with the allomantic powers of the last four, and one I borrowed from prof Next group Tantalum- Allomancy- pushes consciousness (allows you to have an out off body experience lasting as long as the metal) (the internal preserving pushing metal) Feruchemy- allows you to store faith (when you are storing you have trouble trusting people or ideas, when tapping you have great trust in friends and ideas) (the preservation metallic group) Osmium- Allomancy- pulls consciousness (sends you into a meditative state in which you can enter your recent memories and relive them, useful for resisting torture.) (the internal preserving pulling metal) Feruchemy- allows you to store self confidence (when when storing you feel unsure of yourself, when tapping you have great faith in yourself) (the preservation metallic group) Iridium- Allomancy- creates a shield around you that nullifies Allomantic abilities (the external preserving pushing metal) Feruchemy- allows you to store love (when storing you are incredibly selfish and cruel, when tapping you care deeply for others and life as a whole) (the preservation metallic group) Lerasium- Allomancy- when burned makes the user a mistborn with great power (The external preserving pulling metal) Feruchemy- allows you to store feruchemical or allomantic abilities being used, draining the investors from others or your own abilities and using them later, without the need for metals to burn (similar to tin, you can store either feruchemy or Allomancy but not both) (the preservation metallic group) The last group Lanthanum- Allomancy- allows you to force people to relive all the things they regret (internal ruinous pushing metal) Feruchemy- allows you to store murderous intent (when storing you are kind and personable, when tapping you are unable to keep from killing everyone) (the ruin metallic group) Hassium- Allomancy- gives you a measure of control over weak minded people, forcing them to do your bidding (internal ruinous pulling metal) Feruchemy- allows you to store sanity (when storing you go insane, when tapping you can recover from trauma or become incredibly sane [scary thought]) Cerium- Allomancy- gives you the ability to disintegrate inorganic objects by touching them (external ruinous pushing metal) Feruchemy- allows you to store force (when storing, things that hit you will lose their power when they touch you, when tapping your touch will send things flying backwards) Atium- Allomancy- allows you to see slightly into the future via 'atium shadows', and gives your brain the ability to process that information. (internal ruinous pulling metal) Feruchemy- stores youth (when storing you get old, when tapping you become younger)

Hello there, this is my first post on this site! I loved the ideas, and decided to write down a few of my own. I completely forgot about the alloys, I just chose cool sounding metals. Sodium- Allomancy- pushes creativity (makes you more creative) (the internal brilliance pushing metal) Feruchemy- stores inspiration (makes you unimaginative when storing and inspired when tapping) (the superb metallic group) Lithium- Allomancy- pulls creativity (makes you better at expanding on others work but bad at coming up with new ideas) (The internal brilliance pulling metal) Feruchemy- stores dedication (when storing you can't commit to anything, when tapping you are fully dedicated to one specific task) (the superb metallic group) Caesium- Allomancy- pushes conversation (makes you able to dominate any conversation, everyone will believe you and agree with you) (the external brilliance pushing metal) Feruchemy- stores guesses (makes you unable to guess correctly when storing, when tapping your assumptions, guesses and gut feelings are all accurate) (the superb metallic group) Potassium- Allomancy- pulls conversation (makes conversations more interesting) (the external brilliance pulling metal) Feruchemy- stores interest (makes you bored when storing, interested when tapping) (the superb metallic group) Next group Titanium- Allomancy- increases your ability to teach (you can get people to learn and remember things very easily) (the internal pushing knowledge metal) Feruchemy- stores stubbornness (makes you agreeable when storing, makes you stubborn when tapping) (the life skills metallic group) Palladium- Allomancy- increases your ability to learn (makes it very easy to absorb information) (the internal pulling knowledge metal) Feruchemy- stores practice (makes you like a novice while storing, when tapping you are an expert at something (the life skills metallic group) Niobium- Allomancy- increases your observation skills (you notice details that will be important more easily) (the external pushing knowledge metal) Feruchemy- stores common sense (makes you silly while storing, and very sensible when tapping) (the life skills metallic group) Zirconium- Allomancy- increases your deductive skills (you can make mental connections and conclusions more easily) (the external pulling knowledge metal) Feruchemy- stores calmness (while storing you are panicky, while tapping you are calm) (the life skills metallic group)

I think that it is said that you cannot naturally become a fullborn somewhere, though I can't for the life of me remember where. And just personally, before I heard the term fullborn I always called it masterborn.
