  1. SO it definitely is Hemalurgucally charged, but a quick search shows Brandon being cagey about what metal it is and what it is charged with. that said, the charge would likely be very weak, so it's not clear that it would really confer much of a benefit other than as a conduit for communication with Harmony.
  2. no worries. it can get complicated. in thi case, Shadesmar is the Cognitive realm, specifically Roshar's expression of it, and actually is what most people use for wordlhopping. The Spritual realm is different. it is where the shards' powere usually comes from and there is no such thing as location in the Spiritual realm, which is why this question was posed: to worldhop using the Cognitive, you still have to travel, though it is usually a lot shorter than the physical, but if you could go through the Spritiual realm, there would be no moving at all, just start in one location in the physical (or cognitive) realm, move to the spiritual, then exit in a different location in the physical (or cognitive) realm.
  3. That is the Cognitive realm. spiritual is different
  4. I don't think you actually need spoiler tags for a 20 year old book
  5. that too, and not much in the way of exploration to speak of either. so far it seems like if you play the game through, you'll hit pretty much the whole map. you have to, there is no way not to.
  6. there is a lot of hand holding going on in the game for sure. and Fi is constantly telling me things that I knew days ago. the game is fun, when it allows itself to be, but then it sticks a bunch of little things in the way of that, like Fi's constant exposition dumps, or the way you have to constantly go back to the isle of songs - an empty tower with nothing intersting going on in it.
  7. Still making my way through Skyward Sword. Its fun enough, but it really suffers in comparison to literally every other console Zelda released since the SNES. For example, I would gladly trade in Fi for Navi in a heartbeat. Fi is, 100%, the worst guide they have had in any of the games I have played. I've got a hadnful of other girpes of varying levels of importance, as well.
  8. For that matter, you could probably end up everywhere which would likely be unpleasant as well
  9. I've never tried that updated version. I know it introduces some form of job system, which could make things interesting, but i'm not sure hwo that would work. it seems like it would drastically change some of how the game plays.
  10. 348b. silver is a good idea too
  11. don't get me wrong, I don't need everythign to be crystal clear photo-realistic HD or whatever, and there are definite diminishing returns on graphics improvements, but VII's graphics (again, primarily the character graphics) are pretty terrible. chrono trigger and golden sun arent really useful comparisons, becuase they are examples of good 2dish graphics vs FFVII's pretty bad 3d graphics. basically they do what they are trying to do really well, vs 7 which does not. I mostly agree with you about 7, i just think that even pushign the character graphics up to VIII or IX levels would be a drastic improvement. I also mostly agree abotu the remake, but not sure about that last piece - but i love me some FF XII.
  12. you should, its pretty great. though the awful, awful character graphics do detract form it some. (other graphics are alright)
  13. just finished Oathbringer reread. now I want to move on to somethign new, but haven't started looking yet.
  14. yea, its vaguely interesting, but if they completely scrapped the entire concept of the timeline, i wouldn't really care in the slightest.
  15. yea, i usually skipped that. i also got into the habit of skipping the cooking animation. Don't have a switch rigth now, btu will probably have to get one for this new game. It would be nice if they'd allow me to transfer the virtual console games from Wii U to Switch too, because the switch is a bit better for handheld playing than the wii u is.
  16. if it was just one, deflect the eyebeam with my shield. 1 hit for stationary nes, 3 hits for mobile ones. if there were more than one....run and find cover, or at least something to jump off of so I can slowmo ancient arrows at their eyes.
  17. I'd definitely recommend reading both of these prior to Oathbringer. Edgedancer in particular is specificlaly set between Lift's interlude in WoR and the beginning of Oathbringer.
  18. BotW 2 alone means I may need to buy a Switch at some point. though i can probably wait a little while.

    Voidblades

He also may simply have needed to give some of them autonomy in order for them to be able to fulfill whatever their intended purpose was. sometimes a mindless drone following orders exactly is the best tool for the job, sometimes you need someone/thing smart enough to thik for itslef and be creative in how it achieves its goal.
  20. Also, for Renarin, who often lacks confidence in his own abilities, his own perception of what he can or can't heal is probably at least as much of a limiting factor as anything else. If he thinks he can heal something, and the subject thinks it can be healed, then it will heal, provided he has fuel enough for it. but if he doesn't think a shardblade wound can be healed, or doesn't think he could possibly be good enough to do it, then in all likelihood he won't be able to. after all, we've seen a fabrial heal Szeth after having a shardblade go through his neck - which would normally be extremely fatal - the capabilites of the regrowth surge itself are definitely not the issue for Renarin's failure to heal certain things.
  21. At least some form of the Transportation surge must work since Jasnah was able to physically travel to and from Shadesmar without an oathgate or a perpendicularity

    Voidblades

i mean we basically see voidspren bondings in 2 scenarios - the first is when they bond Singers, in which case i suspect that that is just a different kind of bond than the Nahel bond - they seem to be almost physically conjoined to the host, and probably can't manifest outside of them as a blade, or if they did, i bet they'd lose some of their influence over the hosts' minds. For the end when they bond with humans, again I'd guess that that is just a different kind of bond than the Nahel bond and doesn't allow that sort of manifestation; but it is also possible that it is simply not strong enough to allow them to manifest as a balde. remember Syl can't do it until Kaladin swears the 3rd oath, and those soldiers probably wouldn't be at whatever the equivalent of that is even if that bond did eventually allow for it; and there is also still the mind influence piece. been a while sicne i read Oathbringer, but I seem to recall that bonding the soldiers changed their personalities, at least somewhat, so again i'd suspect that manifesting as a blade would require giving up some of that influence.
  23. I love malazan, but i think books 8, 9, and 10 each individually took me longer than books 1-6 put together on both my readthroughs
  24. firt time through Words of Radiance, i barely put it down. think it took me about 25-30 hours, pretty much straight with minimal interruptions. I'm not even sure I ate that weekend.
  25. i don't think any of the stories so far, other than (maybe) First of the Sun have taken place late enough for that. timeline wise stormlight is around the same time as era 2, and elantris, warbreaker, and white sand are all earlier than that. I don't know if we know for sure how Shadows for Silence fits in that, but i don't recall any particular evidence of spacefarers in that one either.
