Having a Bad Day?: Get 'yer Hugs here!!
Pestis the Spider replied to Curious Anamaximder's topic in General Discussion
Oh, I'm so sorry. I can't imagine being allergic to food. My previous flatmate was allergic to dairy (not lactose-intolerant, but actually allergic) and she basically had to check ingredients of everything she ever bought before eating. I would absolutely hate to have to do that. Fortunately I'm only allergic to dust and one type of antibiotic. But antibiotic allergy is easy to deal with, since the only thing I need to do is to tell the doctors "don't give it to me, or I'll die". Simple enough. -

Nah, I'm fine with pollen. But trust me, dust can be hell too. Just inside the house, instead of outside. And I know that the allergy meds won't harm me. I know it, but I don't feel it for some reason. -

Pestis the Spider replied to Curious Anamaximder's topic in General Discussion
Actually I've never took it before, and the doctor only prescribed it to me a couple of weeks ago. It's just my parents raised me (a.k.a brainwashed me in so many different ways) not ot rely on meds. So I am now a little scared to actually take it. I am also not really good with change, and admitting to myself that I might need meds that I never took before is kinda a big deal for me. So basically in short: No, I didn't take my meds, because I'm paranoid. Yes, there is something wrong with me. Eh. -

Having a Bad Day?: Get 'yer Hugs here!!

I'm cleaning (or at least trying to) my incredibly dusty flat. And I have an incredible dust allergy, and the moment I want to clean it it just goes flying everywhere. Just kill me, please. -
To be honest I just thought "Well, that was definitely graphic" and then just played the next episode. But I've read the books, so I knew the Red Wedding happened.

Obviously you're right. People have every right to not like seeing dark jokes, and people that want to post dark jokes need to recognize that. I agree. And that's where the [Spoiler*] tag proves to be very useful. That's my fault. I am so sorry. Haha, but seriously, sorry for starting the dying topic again. It's 3am here, and I might (or might not) be thinking/saying some stupid things, so I'll better go now. -

We can drop it. But just after I solemnly swear to upvote all the dark jokes I see from here now on. These are jokes, they don't deserve all that hate. O.o -

I just found a staple in my take-away pizza. Scared me for life. I think I'm done with take-away for quite a long time. -
Weird things about yourself
Pestis the Spider replied to Assassin in Burgundy's topic in General Discussion
I have a tendency to walk into things by accident. There were so many situations when I walked into something, hit my head with a loud BANG and didn't even blink. And then everyone is like "OMG, Pestis, are you all right?!", and I don't do anything, because I am so used to walking into things by accident, that I see no reason to react unless it really hurts. Random Stuff IX: Rogue Admins

I have this problem that my new flatmate is moving in soon. And apparently he's bringing some ps3 games with him, apparently assuming that I'll let him share my ps3 console. Can someone pls tell me how do I tell him that I would rather die than let anyone touch my console (or any other thing that belongs to me) without offending the guy? I've met him only twice so far, so I don't really know him. -
@Sunbird To be honest as far as I know the only difference between common buzzard and red-tailed hawk (we call him red-tailed buzzard over here) is that the red-tailed hawk has red tail feathers while common buzzard has brown tail feathers. Other than that they are almost identical, so I doubt anyone would be able to distinguish them just by head. Another pet peeve of mine: When extroverts assume that I am also an extrovert.

@Sunbird Yeah, I also think it's most probably a Buteo hawk (in UK we call them buzzards, but I know that in US they're called hawks and buzzards are something else) rather than Accipiter hawk. Although I think it's might be a common buzzard (Buteo buteo, I have no idea how you call it in US), because Ferruginous Hawk (Buteo regalis) seems to be more pretty with some silver feathers here and there. But I've never seen one IRL so I am completely unsure. I even saw this picture being described as "falcon" on the juice (the juice box had an "interesting fact" section). It's everywhere, seriously. And while I was thinking about buzzards to write this comment I decided to google some pretty pictures of Jackal Buzzard (my favourite buzzard, it has such amazing colours). And there, on the first page I see a photo of... lanner falcon described as "Jackal buzzard eating a Dove in South Africa" (I would post it here, but there is some pidgeon gore there, so maybe better not). I mean, c'mon. Falcons look more like parrots than buzzards, for all things sake. O.o Sorry, but I am just really fascinated by Birds of Prey. Edit: I added the latin names, so that everyone can understand me, no mather what's the common name for a given bird. Edit2: I mistaken a lanner falcon for peregrine falcon for a moment. Oops, my bad.

Every time I see the photo of this guy (I see it so often, omg): And someone calls him a falcon. Seriously this photo is even like top google image search result for the world falcon" But this bird is obviously a type of hawk, common buzzard prossibly. And falcons are so easy to recognise from all the other Birds of Prey.. Omg. Such a pet peeve of mine.

Yes, it's actually yellow, but pretty light yellow. And sometimes the orange cheddar also may look like really deep yellow colour. It's not as orange as for example Red Leicaster. People just call things simplifying their colour. EDIT: I just checked Kosher Cheddar and it is actually yellow. It's darker than white cheddar and lighter than orange cheddar. Interesting. O.o
-
Nah, it's just spices and plant-extracts that make the colour. In UK, for example, it's so much easier to find orange cheddar than normal white cheddar. They love it here.

@Erunion: I've never heard about this game, but I just went and bought it on Steam. Finally Poland will become the proper Eurasian Empire, like it should've long ago. As for bad day: I just had to pay aweful lots of money to the gardener fo cutting my hedge and grass, because I left them unattended for way way too long, and I was no longer able to do it myself. I am not even sure if they didn't overcharge me or not. I am not sure of anything. I'm angry with myself for being this way. -
But Poland is actually Central Europe... So the map really shows just western Europe and Scandinavia. That's like more than half Europe missing. O.o EDIT: I'll just add that the blue part of the blue cheese is mold. It' acctually pretty good, but I blue cheese has a little too strong taste for me. I like Camembert though, which has white mold on top.

This book looks good. Thanks a lot!

I've read the first three books, and I thought about rereading the whole series right now. But I am not a great fan of this series, so I thought I'll ask here and maybe someone would suggest something else.
-
Maybe it's the wrong topic to ask for it, but... I really want to read a good book with dragons in it. Anyone any suggestions? I'd be grateful.
