I'm currently on vacation in Quincy, Massachusetts. So I decided to go on a "get yourself lost/you're lucky you live in the age of GPS" tour. It was fun, I even ended up where I wanted to be!...eventually! -

"What happened next will make you cry..." stupid click bait! Your example reminds me of the Simpson's rendition of The Raven. In the poem, there's a knocking at the door, which when opened revealed nothing. At this point the following conversation occurred: Bart: You know what's scarier than nothing? Lisa: What? Bart: Anything! -

Yeah, reason number seven is never nearly as mind blowing as advertised. -

That, unfortunately, is due to the concept of Twitter advertisement. Simple and click-baity. At least it wasn't a list. "Ten reasons millennials do not buy diamond: number seven will blow your mind!" -
The key thing is to make sure they know what your terms are, that way ignorance isn't an excuse! And if they get snippy about it after you are polite, don't communicate with them for a while. With my father, it was over a year. Your situation will vary, but if you do go this route: simply ignore. You Don'don't need to provide a dramatic farewell.

He's right, you know. Don't bow to their terms, you can even say "if you don't have time to respond to a text, how would you have time to talk?" Or something like that. Make your own terms!

I don't think so. There's an aspect of diamond buying where it is not done because millennials think they are worthless. This would have implications for the economy of diamond selling (the Economist writing about economy matters? Gasp!) And being in debt does not necessarily mean no disposable income (Hamilton once called national debt a "blessing." Jefferson disagreed but had huge debt and managed to own a plantation. Previous generations, instead of having school debt had/have mortgages. Soul crushing debt is not a new condition) -
The thing about prophecies is that if it means nothing to the people receiving it at the time (ie, it speaks of technology and events that won't happen for millennia) it's unhelpful and pretty much gibberish. The other critique: if it speaks of future events, how come these events are never seen as part of the prophecy until after they occur? How come a biblical illustrator never drew anything resembling a helicopter in relation to Revelations until after helicopters existed? If the meaning does not occur to people until well after the event, it's gibberish (This is my main critique for Nostradamus)

And the internet overreacted again Fine, so the economist asked a question that has little to do with school debt or being coddled moochers. It's great to see an article add another dimension to millennials. Except that millennials seem determined to maintain the stereotype. -

Oh, I completely agree. And if the comparison could be made to the restriction of other Constitutional Rights (You don't have a First Amendment right to yell, "Fire" in a crowded theater, for example) that would be the way to go...but that might require a wizard to make stick. -
Roger Waters from Pink Floyd will always hold a place in my personal list. Steve Harris from Iron Maiden is pretty good too! And I would be remiss if I left off David Bowie.

Having a Bad Day?: Get 'yer Hugs here!!

True as that is, we run into the following legal problem: what other Constitutional Right requires mandatory training for its exercise? There are ways around this: training to get a conceal carry permit, for example. But a blanket requirement in order to own a gun would not survive litigation, I think. Or his powers of clear, unmitigated incompetency! -

In the case of Israel, I think the training goes a long way. They have a better understanding and appreciation for guns while also dispelling the awe people unfamiliar with guns might have about them. -
The Chemical Wedding by Christain Rosenkruetz. This is the new edition compiled by John Crowley that won't come out until November....but I was part of kickstarter, so while a paperback will be available to the world in NOvember, I get an e-copy of it now and a hardcover copy later! Woo! In all your faces!

It's interesting that that original cliched statement implies that a reasonable response to thought of "children in Africa are suffering the pangs of hunger and nutritional deficiency" is not "we should try to help them!" but is instead "let's force this ungrateful brat to eat food it neither wants or needs." Kinda dehumanizes starving children into mere rhetoric wasted on privileged children who have not even developed the cognitive abilities necessary to understand, let alone appreciate, reasoned argument. *claps slowly* Bravo, 50s white America...bra-vo. -

I don't quite get these critiques. It's a fairly solid graphic novel, at least on par with any non-Moon Knight marvel comic. A lot of the art criticism (at least elsewhere) seems to be focused on the Kindle version, and at least I did not have a problem with distinguishing most characters. It's not perfect (there is at least one potentially huge mistake) but I found out pretty satisfactory for Act 1.
