  1. So, although it is generally agreed upon that there are 16 metals (iron, steel, tin, pewter, copper, bronze, brass, zinc, cadmium, bendalloy, chromium, nicrosil, gold, electrum, aluminum, and duralumin) there are actually 18 total if you count the God metals (atium and lerasium). I am currently reading through the Mistborn annotations and noticed that, originally, there was no emotional allomancy. Could this be why there are 18 metals? The original 16 then brass and zinc?
  2. Poker Face by Lady Gaga for Iyatil (ya know, cause she wears a mask)
  3. cold, but true. That series spirals downward to a horrible crash and burn ending.
  4. can I be the next highest in this faction? The Lady Procrastinator?
  5. Wasing the why of asking? Willing the thinking of the lacking of High Imperial? Edit: read why now. Wasing of never difficult the High Imperial to read for me. I'm still not that great at writing/speaking it, but I can read it fluently.
  6. So as I was transcribing the epigraphs from the first Mistborn (I know they are on Coppermind it helps me to write them) I noticed this This is from the epigraphs from chapter 8.This is weird because, as we know, the Hero of Ages (which this line is about) becomes Harmony, which is the exact opposite of Discord.
  7. I have spread Mistborn with two people, one is not very into it, while the other is devouring them very quickly and seems mildly interested in the shard and other Sandersonian novels
  8. Mistborn/WOA Spoilers
  9. WHY DO YOU MAKE ME DECIDE BETWEEN MY FICTIONAL HUSBAND (Elend) AND MY FAVOURITE PSYCHOPATHIC FATHER FIGURE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THIS IS IMPOSSIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Minor Warbreaker Spoilers/Answer
  10. Update on my paper: three pages, already way over the minimum. Mostly the quote of Vivenna and Jewels' conversation about giving breath, minor mistborn spoilers and thats just the tree line intro and first paragraph
  11. If any of you know anything about the Emperor Claudius, then you would know that he was ridiculed for being a fool, probably supported a republic, was a very accomplished scholar (historian), and became emperor of Rome. Sound a bit familiar? I think so. Elend and Claudius are both known as the fools of the family, both come from wealth, are both very scholarly men, and both end up reluctantly ruling an empire and doing it very successfully.
  12. *cough*of ages*cough*
  13. Just imagine Kell looking into the camera like he was on the Office everytime he made a reference to the plot twist
  14. I want to see too, that sounds awesome!

  16. My project has way too many cosmere references....

    1. Slowswift

      Slowswift

      Like that's a bad thing?!?!

  17. When you reccomend Perfect State to your english teacher...
  18. I named the states after shardworlds and had a problem because we don't know any characters on Ashyn, the capital is named after Brandon and I might name other cities in the state will be named after some sharders.
  19. I am doing a project where I have to create a society. I will be creating a moderately socialist dictatorship, I would like to name my society after a major character in a cosmere book but cannot think of anything good, I would appreciate it if you would leave suggestions. Thanks! -Grace PS The ones I don't use for the country I will use for cities (the provinces will be named for the known shardworlds).
  20. If this is the spoiler board then why is everything tagged? Also, if this is under Calamity it should be assumed the people who have read it have read Firefight.
  21. I feel that we need to create a term for Brandon Sanderson's plot twists as they are generally much harder to predict than a normal plot twist. I came up with this idea when I was thinking about how some members of the Percy Jackson fandom coined the term "Rickhanger" after the author (Rick Riordan) ended a book with a more intense than usual cliffhanger. If a term can be coined from one instance of an author doing something, then we can do it from many, many instances of unpredictable plot twists.
  22. I had my first prediction in Steelheart, I predicted that Prof was an Epic. I can't even begin to say how happy I was that I had finally guessed a Sanderson plot twist.
  23. The only living shardholder that we have directly known well is Harmony, and he hasn't held the shard long enough for us to be able to see any difference in his demeanor.
  24. I disagree with enough compounded gold being able to heal spiritual damage. Though, we have seen instances of spiritual wounds being healed, so I'm not sure which would happen.
