That's actually been throwing me off. I type so quickly that the double-return for an extra space happens by reflex; it's going to take weeks for me to train it out of my muscle memory. Benadryl doesn't always work... I finally had to resort to globs of aloe underneath band-aids to be able to sleep. It's very difficult to stop the itching when the sheets keep lightly brushing at the zillions of mosquito bites on your legs...

Yeah, I can't for the life of me figure out how to get to that customized activity stream you posted without following the link. I found the newspaper icon, but I haven't the foggiest clue how to customize the feed. Huh. New forum hyphenizes wordwrap. Interesting. For the love of sweet baby Heru! Get some SLEEP, man!

I agree with the folks saying the site is REALLY bright - I'm not sure how, but even if the difference is small it's having a disproportionate effect. Black text on bright backgrounds can cause folks with eye problems a lot of trouble. My husband would never be able to read this site without considerable pain. (Not that he's a Sanderfan, but he has eye issues that are a good example.) Dislike the round. It cuts off my ponyself's pretty hair. Yes, I am shallow. Also, all my friends are gone. I am friendless. Alas. ETA: I am having a lot of trouble with the Managed Content section. I...where are all of my threads I posted on? I can't find them.

So what do we do if we wind up doing something terrible like failing to close a spoiler tag properly? That could be...dire.

There are some deeply disturbed people out there. The mayor of KCMO has announced tomorrow as Rainbow Day - he's going to be wearing rainbow colors to show support for the victims. I may live on the KS side of the state line, but I'm participating. Except I don't really have any rainbow clothes, so I snipped off a bunch of lengths of yarn in bright colors to tie into my hair tomorrow. Oh. Well, I didn't want to be a creeper...but since you offered! ... Ahh! There you are. And...not really, no. I got nothin'.

See, when I fish for compliments, I post a picture and say, "Look how awesome I am! I am a total BAMF!" And then everyone agrees, and my ego grows. Soon it's going to be too big to fit in the house. You guys are so adorable.

My question on Facebook stands.

Dude. I'm already at least proficient in almost the entire woodwind family (except clarinet - that thing's fingering scheme was birthed in the mind of a Great Old One). And I play piano. I really don't need to learn more instruments...

My mom is tempting me with her cello. I do not need to learn to play another instrument...I do not need to learn to play another instrument...

That's what I've heard. I haven't actually seen it, but I'm pretty sure that's where it's from. But mostly I was gleeing over the fact that you can make pixellated livestock explode by clicking on it enough times. I know. There's something very wrong with me. Which reminds me, I need to go through the episode lists and make a crossover map for Twi so she doesn't accidentally watch things in the wrong order.

Keep watching.

James turns 42 in slightly less than three weeks. Clearly this calls for a Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy themed birthday party. Imma make Pan-Galactic Gargle Blasters and see if I can find a bakery that will decorate a cake to look like a neatly folded towel.

I played a lot of Warcraft II back in the day. I enjoyed clicking on the background sheep until they said, "Baa raa mew" and exploded. Yes, the sheep explode if you click on them too much. It's fantastic.

Actually...my response to this is, "meh". But I'm pretty hit and miss with Tarantino. I really liked Kill Bill pts 1 and 2, but detested From Dusk Till Dawn. Pulp Fiction was just kinda dumb. It doesn't help that Tarantino himself is kind of a chullhead.

The Good News Thread: I'm So Excited! And I Just Can't Hide It!
Kaymyth replied to traceria's topic in General Discussion
Good news for YOU guys: I just updated my cosplay thread. Full in-costume pictures, anyone? -
Update! These are the professional pics I had taken at Costume Con. First: the Jean Grey armor. Can I just say, ugh? Yeah, I'm still not happy with this. It's getting better, but it needs lots of improvement before WorldCon. I think I need to drop the faux leather and learn to do worbla. (Also, he totally tried to get me to look like I'm flying, and it sorta almost worked. I think maybe it'd have worked better with the greenscreen cloth draped over a chair so I could actually angle my lower foot down more. I don't even know what's going on with the fire being green, though.) On the bright side, at least I DO genuinely look like I'm about to ruin someone's day. Second: Full sorceress outfit. (Hee. They used visual effects to try to make my crystal glow. It actually DOES glow, but it doesn't show up well in pictures.) Third: A different Sorceress pose. I like this one so much it's now my Facebook pic.

Today I signed up to give blood next week. This will probably not go well. I'm an idiot. Well, he does pop into this thread now and then. He might just answer anyway. Noooo! Vitamin C and zinc! Neti pot! Meds!

Just started on book 3 of the Cassie Scot series by Christine Amsden. Small press; you won't find these anyplace but Amazon. I'm enjoying them, but well, the author is a friend of mine so I have a positive bias working here. After these, I'll start on a couple books that I picked up at ConQuesT by another local author.

The setup is too straightforward. It's none of them. The real entrance to the tomb is off hidden somewhere underneath snow or something.

Having a Bad Day?: Get 'yer Hugs here!!
Kaymyth replied to Curious Anamaximder's topic in General Discussion
Yeah, but a few seconds after that it'd just start itching again. There is no relief but sweet, sweet unconsciousness. -
Yes. Wesley is that fantastic comic relief who grows slowly as a character to the point where you don't notice that he's getting hot until he clubs you over the head with his suddenly scruffy hotness. And then you go back and watch his first episode and it's soooo jarring. Jonathan Coulton is amazing. Someday, the Universe will strike with perfect serendipity and the randomizer in my car will play "Ikea" just as I am driving past Ikea.

Cortisone, unfortunately, does relatively little for me. My reaction to them has grown too strong for it to handle. I'm icing the bites right now to deaden down the nerve endings, then I'll pop some aloe with lidocaine on them to keep them shut off, and then down some Benadryl in the desperate hopes that it'll keep me asleep for at least half the night. Off makes these great little fans that you can clip to your belt that creates an anti-mosquito cloud around you without you having to actually put anything on your skin. They work really, really well, assuming you actually remember to take them out and use them. You know, like I didn't last night. Because I'm a moron. They're horrible, evil little insectoid vampires. -

OK, nobody has posted here in about 36 hours. And I can't stand it anymore. I HAVE SO MANY MOSQUITO BITES AND IT ITCHES AAAAUUUUUGH! My skin is crawling with the visceral need to scratch, and I know it'll just make it worse in the long run but for a few blissful seconds it would feel sooo goood. But it just itches and itches and itches and I want to scream. You may now return to your regularly scheduled Sharding.
