  1. I strongly suspect (read: am almost certain) that the amount of hemalurgic charge in the earring is effectively 0 for the purposes of using powers. The purpose is so that Harmony (acting as Ruin) can occasionally communicate.
  2. Which is why we think about them. I see a few options on this one: Yes, no, and ageing more slowly. One of the big questions is, from whose perspective? Like said above, from the allomancers perspective, probably not, so if they used it within reasonable amounts (it's also very expensive) it probably wouldn't change by a whole lot from either perspective. What I really want to know is what the effect of being a bendalloy (or cadmium) Savant. If, as per ecohansen, you spent your entire life in a bendabubble you would indubitably become a savant. This gives you more power, but generally at a cost of reliance/addiction, but in this case could likely speed up your ageing rather significantly. I'd say that, assuming you age on your own time (rather than from outside perspective) you've probably got 6 years at most, possibly as low as 3, depending on just how fast you can go. Your time speeds up greatly and you die younger leads to a very short and weird existence. especially if you suddenly run out of bendalloy and have to live out your remaining few years physically dependant on a rare metal. Of course, you could always die young of a freak accident.
  3. I'd just be using it for display anyway.
  4. It's really hot outside.

    1. Slowswift

      Slowswift

      Yes. It is. :/

  5. Out of town 'till next Monday

  6. Wait, what? Where does it say that? And are the continents smaller, or did he rub out Australia?
  7. Nice. When I took that one, I got a 3. Fortunately, I did really well on the multiple choice, because I wrote one essay, one paragraph, and ran out of time, so I drew the Eye of Sauron on the third essay page. I assume you did better than that.
  8. Are they going to be picked up by a monster sized kandra?
  9. Our band one year painted a mural on the (very large) back wall. It was a bit of a surprise to see when I walked into the room that Monday.
  10. Reminds me of Kurk and his Catquisitors.
  11. Well then, if ChullRider says it's good...
  12. It's step 2 I'm worried about.
  13. Yeah, but unfortunately I haven't figured out how to play more than two at once. I don't want to know how much my parents have spent on instruments.
  14. I think somewhere it says that you can repair shardblade damage with Feruchemy, but it requires a lot because you are fixing your spirit and/instead of your body. Can't find the reference yet.
  15. :: Animal: Gargoyle :: Description or Picture of animal: Preferably grey, although black or white would work too. Wings are a must, horns and fangs optional. :: Personality (NOT pose): Angry in a cold sort of way. He has a job to do, and you're on his turf. :: Background: Night sky or stone cityscape. :: Words on Picture?: I'm good. Thanks for asking, though. Edit: Clarification: The wings don't absolutely need to be visible, it just has to be the sort of gargoyle that has wings. Ja?
  16. I play bass, my brother plays bari. I also play piano, trumpet, french horn, mellophone, jew's harp, fife, sing, baritone, electronics, any pitched percussion... My brother also plays piano and used to do alto, might do tenor this year, and occasional harmonica. He also woodburns. Other family members play violin, drums, trombone, kazoo, harmonica, and sorta guitar. And draw. I've been meaning to start a band for a while, called Elend and the Obligators. It grew out of an AoL era Mistborn game as some minor characters, so there is some fictional backstory for my not-yet-real project. The hard life of a musician.
  17. Or... we get together hourly online and talk only about Sanderson books (spoiler: sometimes on multiple forums)
  18. Ubuntu for most everything, although we do have a windows laptop for the rare occasion I can't get windows programs to work on linux. Linux has copies of most programs I want to use with the added bonus of being free (I don't like to spend money on anything I can't touch)
  19. Granted. You still have to walk the whole way, but they let you walk on water to do so. I wish this would stop distracting me.
  20. Since I don't have anywhere else to ask, what exactly is the purpose of TWG? I've accidentally gotten there a couple of times, but what is it?
  21. Didn't really work, but I get the idea. edit: I was trying for a grey background. It worked in the post box thing, but didn't show up.
  22. The Nightwatcher ignores you. Someone else has to do it.
