Oh, yes, that's precisely what Im thinking of what I say I think there's a more specific Connection happening there, and a more specific goal to the deadeyes. Especially in light of the WOB that says there are as many as 30 surges, implying a Cultivation set of Surges similar to the Honor/Radiant and Odium/Void variants.
-
Do Szeth, Venli, Rlain, or Rock count as Main in this case? (Personally, I dont think it's Adolin because I think his means of Restoration of her is going to be a Connection thing that he'll need to be alive to maintain, while also unlocking Cultivation's version of the Surges for one or both of them.)

It's still an interesting Question. You cannot "Heal" savantism because it's part of a new Spiritual Definition instead of Damage. But you could almost certainly Forge the Savantism away, since that's making an external modification (and a likely one at that, just the timeline where you Didnt overuse the power). And if you are skilled and realmically aware enough, you can likely Soulcast it away too, because when an Elsecaller offensively Soulcasts a person into Fire, for example, it's pretty much just a hostilely inflicted Savantism, where the Platonic self has been re-defined as fire (or smoke or whatever).

You could get a crapton of "Time Bubble" tuned Investiture, but I dont think it could go Liquid and still retain those features, instead it would go straight to Solid. In Liquid form it's at its most versatile and "pure", but it settles into one specific effect when it goes solid. If we're talking about hyper-condensing a specifically tuned Investiture, I think we'd be talking about creating an artificial Godmetal.

Duralumin fueled A pewter or fully tapped F pewter?
Quantus replied to Tamriel Wolfsbaine's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Yup, Sazed mentions it at one point (Coppermind says WoA Ch 53) and this WOB clarifies it a bit: -
Duralumin fueled A pewter or fully tapped F pewter?
Quantus replied to Tamriel Wolfsbaine's topic in Cosmere Discussion
A - Pewter rather than F-Pewter. F-Pewter makes you bulkier and tops out in practice by reducing range of motion to zero; you cant actually tap giant back-logs of it the way you can most Feruchemical attributes. -

Yup, it's totally possible with some quantitative limitations. Here's a pretty direct and consolidated WOB on the topic.

Shardblades, shardplate, and attempts to recreate them.
Quantus replied to Tamriel Wolfsbaine's topic in Cosmere Discussion
It's the same spren. Per WOB a radiant can summon their plate on Braize if they already have done so, but not if it's the first time. This implies a permanent change and association. Even living Plate feeds off the Stormlight of the Radiant. I think I'd go with a Scadrian Medallion-Fabrial design, so it runs on the Investiture of burning metals, instead of Breath-fuel. -
Devil's advocate thought on this, but that WOB is talking about normal non-sapient Awakening. Once it crosses the line into that sapience, they could become more permanent like spren and seons seem to be, a more cohesive Investiture being rather than a temporary Command.

This is why supervillains spend so much time robbing banks...the Villainous Venture Capital worlds is too cut-throat. -
Yes, they are not in the "unatural" state like shardblades. Plate also doesnt cause the screaming.

Wait, you're telling me there's a 17th shard?

Welcome to the Shard! Who's your favorite Sanderson Character so far? -
That's a fair point about retrieval. Do we know if that problem exists for for historic Lifeless as well as the ones made using the modern 1-breath Command? Given that it would have needed modification for the additional strength (and that associated Investiture) they were likely made with a custom Command that more Breaths and might have operated on the older Command's mechanism instead of the new and I assume more Spiritual Single Breath Lifeless.

Hard to say. Assuming there is no realmic/mechanical reason that one person could not maintain two Luhel Bonds, it would require two of the Prime Aethers to be willing to Share the person... <insert Fremen Voice> and their Water. This WOB indicates he is inserting differences just to make them unique from Spren and Seons, so it's hard to predict.

To be fair, we know there's Time Dilation for anyone that visits Sel thanks to the Dor, and both those groups seem to have so. It doesnt have to be time dilation in their headquarters, just a travel hazard. EDIT: Time Dilation WOBs that are interesting:

Hmmm....If that much time is lost every time you go to Silverlight, I dont think it would be able to operate as a postal hub for the Silverlight Mercantile.

In terms of allomancy, could you act upon shardplate with a push or pull?
Quantus replied to Ookla de los Cuervos's question in Cosmere Q&A
Technically Yes, but it's very, Very tough. It's harder to Push on Invested things like spikes and metalminds, but you can overcome that with enough power. Godmetals like Atium are pure investiture so they are even harder to Push. Shardplate is made of Godmetal but is also being actively Powered by Stormlight to give it additional benefits. And one of those benefits is to block the effects of Powers that dont match the identity of the plate (ie a Radiant can penetrate their own plate with their surges). So it's technically possible, but it's the basically the worst case I can imagine. It would be harder than pushing on Atium, harder than pushing on metal inside a person or Invested metal, and it could be entirely beyond the capabilities of one Allomancer even with Duralumin. -
Kalad's Phantom's are Organic Awakened Bones/Lifeless with enough additional Strength augmentation to let them move while coated in extremely heavy Stone Armor. The Stone itself doesnt receive the Investiture or get Awakened directly. The Bones are what're being animated and what're holding it all together, not the stone. There's also this sketch that talks about the invisible patterns of stormlight being created by the shape of the metal cage (upper center bit): https://coppermind.net/wiki/Fabrial#/media/File:Navani2.jpg
-
Right, that's what I meant in the the next bit. But anything more than just Storing Breaths in minerals requires the 9th Heightening, so it will still be hard. And it's a little unclear whether it's even possible to awaken minerals without skipping straight to sentience. And there is a lot that pure Awakening simply cannot do (like Create Heat) so you will have to engage the rest of the more complex mechanical system to get there. Or else bypass it with a sentient Awakening, but by the Nightblood example you would still ahv eto supply external Fuel (in the form of Breaths, Stormlight, literal Souls, etc). But the short of creating a persistent Spren-like sapience, Breaths will still (most likely) run out, they are not an infinite source of Investiture. At least per the RoW sketches, etc, it's a cage around the gem. The only ones drilled out are the Gem Archive storage gems, and it made them notably inefficient with stormlight by normal Fabrial standard.
-
In the very specific case of Perfect Gemstones: I suspect Stormlight fabrials require the leakage itself for the Investiture to flow out of the gem and through the metal cage to do whatever it's doing, and if that's true the Prefect Gemstones would be a lot less useful for functional fabrials.
-
So the Goal is to mimic Fabrials with Awakening? Fabrials have two different balls of Investiture in their mechanisms: The Spren and The Stormlight. There is a Spren in a gem, and Stormlight in a Gem (unclear if its the same gem or separate ones in all cases) and then there's a whole system of metal cages that manipulate the Investiture via proximity. We know per WOB that a Radiant can fuel Surges with Breaths without much difficulty, because the Oaths and Bonds make it straightforward to churn different Investitures into the Surge (I think what we've seen of the different Lights supports this). And we know per WOB that it doesnt actually take upper Heightenings to Invest a mineral with a Breath, only to actually Awaken said Mineral. So depending on how Leaky the Investiture needs to be to engage the metal cage functionality, Breaths might be able to plug to the Fuel part of the Fabrial. At the most flexible/compatible, you might be able to shove an awakened Pinecone into the Gem slot on the fabrial device, at worst you might still need to use the Gems. Going further, WOB has always said Nightblood-style Awakenings are essentially artificial Spren. So I think it would be a lot more straightforward, if a lot more difficult with the 9th Heightenings requirement, to literally Awaken a Gem with some Command and then plug it into a Fabrial where the Spren Gem would normally go. And for the Third option: At the end of the day Any Nightblood-style Awakening is only semantically different than a Surge Fabrial which are apparently a single Spren manifesting itself as a complex Metal&Gem object; Awakened objects seem to just be better at using the whole spectrum of Investiture.

Feruchemical gold via hemalurgy question.
Quantus replied to Tamriel Wolfsbaine's topic in Cosmere Discussion
In the case of injuries like that, I think it would default to being healed, and he'd have to have really internalized it as a core personality trait like Kaladin to resist the healing (or rather add it to the definition of what is healed). This as compared to like genetic disorders or age-related illness that it may or may not touch based on other factors. But it's all down to perception at some level, too. So person who lost their eyes gets healed in most cases, but maybe if they embrace the new experience of heightened other Senses they'd Hang onto it. But a person that was born blind would probably struggle to heal themself new eyes even if they thing they deserve eyes like everyone else, but also might be able to do easier if they can experience Sight magically at least once (shared memory, sensory linking, etc). Aligning the birth body to a different gender identity is within reach of Radiant healing, but I doubt any amount of desire for Wings or Gills, etc would make them sprout with healing (despite child-me being obsessed and praying for wings daily). No clue if you can heal yourself to another race like Singer or ShoDal. This may play into the whole precedent idea that is likely influenced by the shard-holders in some ways (related to the "universal donor" template idea with soulcast Blood).
