  1. It was a rock, I believe. Rocks>sticks any day. I mean, between Stone Shamans, Taln Stonesinew, Tien, Szeths oathstone and Numuhukumakiaki'aialunamor it is hard to see how a somewhat strong willed stick is given so much adoration.
  2. "I am sorry that you have to die this way." - The entire discussion between Dalinar and the Stormfather before the Everstorm was probaly the most dramatic moment in the series, with hopelessnes both above and below as the world is about to end. Also, on book one "You were right, Father, you can't stop a storm by blowing harder, you can't save men by killing others. We should all become surgeons. Every last one of us."
  3. I said Rock seemed more on the human side not because of his actions, but biologicaly and realmaticaly, since Horneaters don't hear the Listener Songs and don't bond spren to change forms. And even if bonding a spren of honor doens't just keep them from bonding a voidspren, since I believe that if Listeners bonded surgespren they would get a new form, not tradicional surgebinding, them how would it keep them from being influenced by it? It is not like a evil spren whispering at their ears, but one with direct connection to their souls. While I believe that a weak bond to a surgespren is still possible, I think that they would have to banish the voidspren to be able to have a complete bond, and even if it isn't necessary and a Listener can have a nahel bond AND a form bond, it still could interfer woth the oaths and make life all around hard to the listener.
  4. There is a theory out there that at first Honor and Cultivation gave their spren to the Listeners so they would help humanity to adapt to Roshar, and those Listeners became know as dawnsingers. Sadly I don't have the link to the full theory, since the last time I have seem it I was still a lurker.
  5. Brandon said Listeners are not of Honor and were not of Odium or Cultivation originaly, so it leaves us with they being directly of Adonalsium, since He is hinted to have touched Roshar before by to a somewhat ambiguos passage of the Letter in WoR. I just implied that it was impossible to have a working bond with both a voidspren and a surgespren at the same time, not that listeners always have a piece of Odium inside them
  6. So far very few people pointed one of the possible explanations for Kaladin's windsense: Adhesion. One of his surges is related to air pressure, so it could explain his windsense, something Dalinar also seems to use during his fight against Szeth. Or it could just be stormlight perfecting his natural talents.
  7. It was a haaaarrd call, but I believe Szeth's stone comes first because of what it means to him, followed closely by the Diagram, because i just love how West Wall Psalm of Wonders sounds, and it is in some ways Taravangian's own secret, terrible, dark master in a way.
  8. Roshar was touched by Adonalsium, just like Yolen. Maybe He just based humans and Listeners on the same base template and decided it would be nice if they could reproduce.
  9. Yes, since all magics in Roshar, except maybe old magic, seem to be bond based it wouldn't be shocking to see Rysn gaining something from the bond. Plus, they come from Aimia, and everything that tells us more about there is welcome.
  10. I believe horneaters are MUCH more on the human side of the human/listener mix. Also, I doubt it would be healthy for your nahel bond tho have a piece of Odium inside you. Still, I hope we will find out that humans can bond voidspren so we we can see anti-knights in the future
  11. We can't know if Eshonai would be convinced, and her support was crucial to Venli's plan. Still, I doubt that Nin was hunting surgebinders in the West because he believed they would convince the Parshendi more than half a continent away to adopt stormform.
  12. If Gavilar believed the Parshendi would be necessary to bring another desolation he should probaly know more about ther connection to desolations than he lets on, and more about their gods too, and if he didn't know, why involve them in his plans? Also, about Listener Radiants, Brandon so far has said that in universe, everyone would say they cannot exist, but refused to speak any further about it.
  13. So THAT is why Urithiru looks like it was sliced by a shardblade.
  14. This also raises the question of where the investiture channeled throught the external metals goes, directily to the target or first to the body of the allomancer, and then to the target
  15. Yes, but the shards have no choice about this either, it is just passive interaction.
  16. The magics are actualy born from the passive interaction between shards or splinters and the world itself, so Shards have only limited control over how they manifest. Roshar is unique because it was once touched by Adonalsium, who left some of his power there.
  17. Actualy it is just a fringe theory.
  18. Actualy, Venli convinced Eshonai to try out Stormform by pointing out that there was a surgebinder among the human armies.
  19. I think Realmshifter would be better than hopper, since they aren't realy changing their location.
  20. Sorry to nitpick, but Jasnah is not a worldhopper, at least yet.
  21. As far as I know, sociopaths have lack of compassion and inability to form interpersonal relations that do not directily benefit them, so unless my psychological knowledge is horribly misguided I can't see Kelsier being a full on sociopath, only maybe a low degree sociopath. Please, feel free to correct me if I said anything stupid.
  22. Their gods are the Unmade. They are suspected to be some kind of powerful voidspren by the Diagram and most of the forum, and one of the listener songs calls them "splinters of a soul", wich fits what we know about spren, but Rlain says they were born of the souls of listeners who gave themselves to destroy. I suspect that they are both: souls of listeners fused with splinters of Odium. Brandon said that they have a fixed number, but it isn't ten.
  23. That is if Nin continues his old agenda. He told Lift he was hunting her because he believed surgebinding would cause the start of a new desolation. Since it already started he could very well be willing to stop hunting them until it ends.
  24. He can supress his divine breath, as he explains in the end of the book. Doing this also makes the divine breath stop counting as a breath towards his heightening count and makes it invisible, so if his only breath is a supressed divine breath it is as if he had no breaths, since he is a drab and can't use it to awaken without killing himself.Supressing it also keeps it from being given by the "By breath to yours." command.
  25. If I remember correctly he was actualy referencing his supressed divine breath, wich would guarantee an instant fifth heightening.
