The sworn nemesis of Nighthound and banished of creepy creepertons! ...it occurs to me that Protector a Pug could also see Sam and carefully skirt around the dinosaurs to make his/her introduction. Fridge Logic!

Then it's settled. Funtimes will make a quick stop outside the Sadrys' before taking Vanilla Sa outage back to the cottage, and I shall have her protector pug see Sam and wait for her before introducing him/herself in the morning. Any ideas for names?

Is that what Germany has? I thought--oh, right. It's the British who get their mail by TARDIS.

Here in the US it depends on who you get. Our old mailman was always pretty nice, but then he quit or got transferred and we got a new one. This guy used to refuse to pick up our outgoing mail because the flag on our box was broken, and he once picked up a few bills, then brought them back, unsent, the next day and put them in our box with the incoming mail. And you can't even complain about them because they work for the government, and government employees always have someone covering for them.

Google some pictures of pug puppies, and search for some "pug head tilt" videos on YouTube. Not only will it give you an idea of what to expect, it'll definitely be time well spent. "How to Make the a Postal Service in At Least Two Countries Hate You: Step One."

There was more than one puppy. Anyway, which do you think would suit Sam better--an English bulldog or a pug? I vote pug, since that breed is a proven antidepressant (by me, anyway) and Lightwards is unlikely to see a big-eyed, floppy-eared pug puppy as a threat/Warrior candidate. (Also, I have two pugs and kind of want to write from the POV of a dedicated protector pug. ) The little girl needs something bigger, like a lab or a husky. I can post a picture of my birthday cake with the recipe. :ap

For David, I'd hope for a lesser-known actor. I think it'd be harder for me to see Andrew Garfield as David instead of Andrew Garfield. (I have the same problem with Will Smith movies. He's just too big to really disappear into a role.) Liam Neeson, on the other hand, is just too awesome to NOT make an incredible Prof. I know he's another big name actor, but he's better at disappearing into a role, in my opinion.

Is it? I'd never heard that.

Boo. I have to wait until Saturday, since that's when my birthday is and I'll probably get it as a gift. Then again, there's a bookstore sort of on my way to work....so I'll be leaving early this week.

You'd think a superhero would be smart enough to know that's a crappy deal. You'd think a superhero would know that deal with devil=BAD. He didn't even try to beat him up while cracking witty one-liners!

I can think of a few reasons why Funtimes wouldn't teleport straight to the museum in the morning, giving the puppy time to find Sam. What do they look like, by the way? Are their claws retractable or just small? Which breed to they bear the most resemblance to, or does that vary from puppy to puppy? It'd be even creepier if it were a huge fan of Spidey who got the powers, who then hunted down and kidnapped the Spiderman actor and the most popular comic book writer, and forced them to write and act The New Adventures of Spiderman, where Spidey acts more like…well, like Venom than like the Spiderman we know and love.

Yeah, it's about an hour out of Portland. So it's probably too far for the puppies to track. Unless, of course, one of the puppies sees Sam as they're leaving the Sadrys', just before Funtimes teleports her away, and waits in safety until it can find Sam in the morning. (Am I the only one who thinks this would be both adorable and just what Sam needs?) I think that'd be creepy in just the right way. Epics, surrounded by overly optimistic reminders of what the public wanted them to be…I think that's an awesome place for an Epic lair.

I did get a pretty strong Joker vibe from him. So what are the puppies' criteria for "sad and need help"? How do they determine a person's sadness—through sight, smell, something else? How sad must a person look—and how far will these puppies wander? Can they track a teleporter? Basically: what are the chances of a ball of indestructible cuteness scratching at Funtimes' cottage door as it tries to find Sam?

I don't mind at all. Since all of Quota's posts from here on out will be dedicated to making no one at all mourn his passing, forming a trifecta of terror with Electro will be just the thing. Yay! (And boo.) But yay! Puppies! Also, I was thinking a bit more about Arendelle, and I came up with the following ideas. Elsa, tell me what you like and don't like, and everyone feel free to add your own ideas and change mine. These are just ideas.

Oh, you know what'd be cool in a creepy sort of way? If Epic!Hans forced all the Epics in Arendelle to adopt the identities and personas of characters in Disney movies. Arendelle could basically be one big disturbing game of pretend, intensified if it were actually Disneyland California. Then that would make Elsa's arc about getting away from hat, determining how much of her Elsa identity (and the horrible things she did under Calamity's corruption) was her and how much was Hans' influence, and trying to carve out a new, more humane identity for herself.

You do get used to them after a while, but it is pretty cool, having a birds-eye view of the city as you're walking from the mall to the bus station. And they're super convenient. I don't know why more cities don't have them (namely, those with temperatures that soar above 110 F in the summer). Oh! I don't think I've said this yet, but I loved your story. You described your setting in a way that made me feel like I was not only at a Hanukkah fair, but that I'd seen one before (when I hadn't even heard of them before reading your story).
