  1. THE WIKI SHALL SERVE MURDERLINA I meant to say "The wiki looks awesome and I feel like a slacker for not adding anything yet, but I'm enjoying seeing what other people have to say about my characters."
  2. MURDERLINA RISES Huh. I meant to type "That sounds like a definite possibility."
  3. The deduction method could certainly work, but with a family member suddenly becoming a murderous psychopath, his behavior would have probably seemed erratic to her anyway, making deductions based on that much more shaky than usual. And it could work, but I think luck would be as much at play as reasoning. Also, my phone autocorrected "suddenly becoming a murderous" to "suddenly alb evoking Murderlina." And now I'm wondering if my phone is part of a cult.
  4. The main problem I see with Daerra figuring out her father's weakness is that it seems to require connecting weaknesses to fears, which is something not even the lorists seem to have done in 10+ years of studying Epics (unless they did and they're hiding something, which is entirely possible). In some, or even many, cases, the Epics themselves seem to have not made the connection between fears and weaknesses. And, like Edge said before, no one even knew about the weaknesses in the early days. It seems more likely that Daerra just got lucky in setting off her father's weakness than that she figured it out, especially during a period where even the existence of weaknesses was debated at best.
  5. Please. A purring pony cassowary would just be silly.
  6. She wrote the Divergent trilogy, which follows Beatrice "Tris" Prior as she navigates a dystopian Chicago divided into five different factions, each of which value one quality--bravery, selflessness, intelligence, honesty, or kindness--above all others and organize their societies accordingly. It's an interesting setup, and for the first book, it worked. There were some logic fails (how did a society that encourages distrust between factions yet allows teens to choose their own factions survive so long? how does a personality test that limits options so severely even work?) but it was fast-paced and fun enough that I didn't really care. Then the second book showed up the flaws of the first by virtue of its even worse logic, and I've heard the third book was so terrible that fixfics are incredibly common.
  7. I won't be able to make the article until late tonight, so you may as well start it and I can add more detail when I get home.
  8. Once I get a few minutes to get a feel for the site, I'll add profiles for Nathan, Autumn, and Koschei. Unless King of the Overachievers Kobolds beats me to the punch.
  9. ....begone with you.
  10. ....unlike Deathwish's backstory, which just makes him even more of a sleazeball.
  11. We need some Epics whose names are actually a legitimate reason for adopting code names
  12. Meaning there's still room for an Epic whose real name is Victor or Victoria McPhail.
  13. And remember: no matter how embarrassed she is by it, her real name can't possibly be worse than "Roosevelt Barthes." Unless it's "Polly Esther Slack" or something.
  14. Precisely.
  15. Hey, don't judge. Maybe your family just got the one cassowary that purrs.
  16. Whatever the case, I've got an unfinished book and a site full of memes, so I may as well keep going.
  17. It's like the horrifying remix of the "When You Wish Upon a Star" from Pinocchio: When you wish upon a star Its red light strikes where you are A psychopath is what you'll be Timeport says "That's fine with me!"
  18. Today was my foster sister's birthday, so guess who came over. A. Her friends B. A sentient fruit pie C. Distant relatives who are old enough to be her grandparents If you guessed C, you're absolutely right. If you added "I'll bet they totally monopolized her birthday, and aside from giving her presents, completely ignored her and diverted attention away from her and onto themselves," you get extra credit. And the thing is, my parents aren't huge fans of them, either. They like them, but even they complain about the fact they arrive too early and stay too late. So why did my mom even invite them? And why was that reason worth marginalizing my sister on her special day? There are times when I don't like my family very much.
  19. Read further in WoK! Now that I'm done with my project, I'll have more time to read. First off, I'm not a fan of Sadeas. Kaladin's job has become more interesting. And when I log onto this site using the mobile version:
  20. Roosevelt Barthes. Like the president, followed by something that sounds like "barf." I like what you did with the Funtimes article, by the way.
  21. I think Seonid did that with some of his characters from a world he's designed, so I'm totally fine with using characters from other settings. I think it could be really interesting.
