  1. In places like Arizona, it seems like the Shard of Allergies just wants to kill everyone.
  2. ….I finished the whole thing and I still have no idea what's going on, but I found it oddly heartwarming.
  3. Oh, right. Let's just say it'll remind you of someone in this RP.
  4. Sorry for the double post, but Kobold, have you seen the new FiM episode yet?
  5. Joe, when is the Reckoners meeting likely to wrap up, and what kind of bugs exactly did they place on Remington?
  6. MLP:FiM is one of the best things to happen to college students since textbook rental sites.

And even when things get bad, it stays hilarious.

I saw every episode of the first three seasons, a few episodes of the fourth season, and every episode of the fifth season so far.

  7. Yeah, I was assuming you got the idea that Autumn was attracted to Shiny from the bit about her eyes, which—okay, I can see that, but I meant it more in the sense that holy burning Calamity would prismatic eyes make it hard to think.
  8. First off: I didn't mean to write that post as if Autumn wanted to kiss Shiny. Upon rereading, my use of pronouns definitely does imply that she's the one who wants to kiss Shiny; but when I wrote it, I intended it to come across as Autumn commenting (and becoming somewhat distressed over) the fact that Shiny wanted to kiss her. I'll clear up the wording a bit because that wasn't something I wanted to imply. It seems too early for Autumn to be genuinely attracted to Shiny because it is. They've known each other for twenty minutes, during which time Shiny has caressed her, hugged her, teleported her up into the air and flirted while rapidly approaching the pavement—which, although they weren't in any real danger, was not something Autumn knew. It's definitely on par with Funtimes' actions toward Nathan. As for the pairing as a whole—I admit it's plausible, but if she had Vondra backing her up, Autumn would be far more likely to explain to Shiny that her work as a counselor and minister came first, because for her, it does. She sees her work with Epics like Edgerunner and Scribbler as worthy of being prioritized over any romantic entanglements on her part, which is largely the reason she was single in her first post and had been for some time. Autumn sees herself as someone who should always be available to help those who need it, and getting romantically involved with someone—male or female—would be tantamount to putting her needs over theirs, in her eyes.
  9. Is that what we call "show up in a war zone and declare undying love for someone we just met" now?
  10. A small one, but a chance. (Maybe they've just been using their powers more often over the past three days, which allowed them to remain relatively uncorrupted because of the Magic of Storytelling, ever think of that? ) (Edit: agree with Kobold's ninja-ing.) Got it, just before someone else beat me to the punch. (For….skimmers? Who only read the info boxes because….because reading anything else on the wiki is against their religion? Yeah, it seems kind of redundant to me, too.)
  11. Probably won't last much longer. (Plus The Dalles' system was created before Firefight, when it still seemed plausible that Epics could go without using their powers for long periods. ) (So many ponies.) It might be handy to have the relationships summed up in the info boxes, then expanded in the biographies. (By the way, is there a trick to editing those info boxes? I tried to add Funtimes' real name, but it wouldn't let me.)
  12. I bake my own cookies, but thanks. How do you mean? In the sense of worldbuilding, they're planned out ahead of time (except for Portland, which we've been building as we go) with rulers, factions, politics, and the like set up before we begin. In the sense of events, they're not planned at all. Character interactions and reactions drive the plot. I suppose Corvallis is something of an exception, since Euphoria's disappearance is what's been driving the action, but we don't really plan the plots. Edit: Ninja'd. What Voidus said.
  13. Was the okra in something the cafeteria served? It might add another layer of fear to his backstory if his parents tried to sue the school for willful negligence or something similar. That could have also caused some of the teachers to take out their frustration with his parents on him. All of that—the teasing, the teachers, the lawsuit, his parents cooing over him and checking his lunchbox for the slightest hint of okra—would take the fear from a simple "oh, I'm allergic to this so I need to avoid it" to "wow, I'm completely powerless in the face of a stinking vegetable. Something from a backyard garden ruined my life."
  14. I'm not a fan either. But as someone with food allergies, I'd suggest also adding in some sort of social fallout to those reactions. As I understood it, Epic fears aren't just fears, but stem from the sort of trauma that changes your behavior. They're the kind of fear that can, and do, rule lives. My food allergies only change my behavior in the sense that I avoid foods with allergens in them. Granted, my allergies are rarely life-threatening, so if he nearly died after a bad reaction to okra I'd say it fits, but I think some social consequences would also help his backstory. Maybe he was nearly killed at a friend's house by eating something he didn't know had okra in it, and his mom and the friend's mom had such a fight that he wound up losing the friend over it too?
  15. After my brother suggested it, I think I'm going to write a letter to the dean. That sort of thing should be unacceptable at a university level. Also, I think Bruno (one of my pugs) is sick.
  16. Don't tell me YOU wouldn't be distracted by Shiny Sparkle's eyes.
  17. New Autumn post up. Like Funtimes, she too is distracted by shinies.
  18. For the first time Autumn could recall, Deathwish saved the day. His profanity-laced call for reinforcements crackled over Arsenal's radio, booming in her ears and making her wince. Arsenal replied with his usual coolness, then, scowling, clipped the radio to his belt and glared at her and Shiny Sparkle. "Well, Ms… Sparkle." Autumn half-expected a remark about how 'Shiny Sparkle' was as appropriate a name as 'D'Sqaurius Green, Jr.' "It seems you'll be getting a chance to prove your... love. Can you pry yourself from our counselor long enough to attend to a security breach downtown?" His eyes narrowed as they rested on her. If she didn't know better, she'd say withering glares was his secondary power. "Ms. Glass has a report to the commander to file. A full report." Were it not for his glare, Autumn might have relaxed. Shiny Sparkle was leaving. She'd have a few minutes to think, to clear her head, to figure out how, precisely, she would explain the security breaches to Vondra without screaming about exploding dates who flirted during free-fall. It was at that moment Shiny Sparkle removed her glasses. “Alas, I’ll go and risk my life for you, my love." One hand cupped her cheek while the other pushed up Backtrack's glasses. The world was so much clearer when it wasn't tinted pink. Shiny Sparkle's free hand drifted to her waist, arm wrapping around, pulling her closer. “Wish me luck.” Autumn couldn't speak. Shiny Sparkle's eyes were so distracting. They swirled with a pool of colors that glittered like a kaleidoscope. So pretty. So shiny. So bizarre. So….so…. “Actually, just kiss me.” Wait—what? Autumn managed to tear her gaze from Shiny Sparkle's swirling, shiny eyes and looked at her nose instead, which was far less shiny than her eyes. And so close. Autumn could feel Shiny Sparkle's breath on her cheek, could hear the quivering in her voice. This Epic, this sparkling Epic with the most distracting eyes on the planet, wanted to kiss her. Badly. Now. With Arsenal sitting right there. Autumn thought, in that moment, of Obliteration. The Epic who had destroyed Houston. He'd soaked up the sunlight for weeks, then let it go in one horrifying instant. Steel and asphalt melted. Concrete shattered. Tens of thousands dead before they could scream. If Autumn kissed Shiny Sparkle, Houston would be a tiny firecracker compared to Arsenal. If she didn't, there was no telling what Shiny Sparkle would do. She looked into her eyes again. So….swirly…. …maybe just a small kiss would do. Just a small one. A quick peck on the lips. Autumn leaned in…. …and was immediately pulled close into a passionate kiss that showed no sign of ending anytime soon. Ah, sparks.
