  1. I'm embarrassed to note I hadn't really noticed.
  2. Correction: Weiry lynched no one. Weiry was silenced, and in any case, did not send in orders, so it would not have made a difference. Macen was killed by Binnt, the darkeyes Ghostblood, who indirectly instigated my death. (So, pretty ironic but not as ironic as Aonar's.) But yeah, Shamed Guard and Voidbringers...they're just the roles that are death sentences... Also, Claincy: I don't know why I'm saying this, but yes, we exchanged player lists, and we worked out player loyalties thanks to Rengar's intel, and the spy I saw on the day I died (as a Voidbringer.) It's just that there was no room for that in the tweet...
  3. Ha! That's what I suspected; that's why I tried giving Jerrek that initial hit when I was tabulating the kills. I suspected someone had gotten hit more than once, that it wasn't just me Claincy: I did a vote simulation before the write-up when we were figuring out Rengar. 17s: 6 (4+ Rengar) Nobles: 1 Darkeyes 1 Throw in your Worldsinging, and you remove 2 from the 17s bloc vote, and throw in 1 to your collective vote on Trahar. It would never have gone through, and I bet they voted for you too, which is why the write-up has Rengar killing you. Neither Khiriq nor Lyla could've voted since they went to the Nightwatcher, crippling your attempt to outvote the 17s.
  4. Alright, then I'm fine with the longer classification I'll make more rule-tweaks then eventually apply to run it.
  5. I thought of doing so, but here's the thing I'm worried about: the Truthwatcher role is an informational role, which means he's in a position of great power. At the moment, the only thing stopping him from declaring his role and listing the players he 'finds suspicious' from Day One is the threat of Stormform taking him down (and the fact he would pretty much kill the game.) The presence of the Willshaper is meant to serve as some degree of protection for the Truthwatcher, though this is not guaranteed. I realise this may be sounding like a bit of a railroad, but my intention was to balance out the Truthwatcher's immense position of informational power with fragility, meaning he has to really be circumspect about how he dispenses his knowledge. I felt giving him extra lives seemed to detract from this incentive. (Particularly as the game starts off with just 1 kill in circulation, which means if there's a crowd of about 25+ players, the odds of hitting him the first night are very small.) At the same time, I'm considering giving the Willshaper a single-use ability to take an attack for the Truthwatcher, but Wyrm wisely pointed out this shoehorns the Willshaper into a tight corner, and I don't want to put restrictions in that basically remove player choice. That's not fun Wilson: I'm honestly not so sure about what this could count as, so I'd defer to your judgement. If you think this would make for a longer run, I'd go with it.
  6. And you're an Arbiter now. Appropriate.
  7. I've said it in the dead doc, and I'll say it again. Tch. Sharders. Get more creative. Professionals have standards
  8. Could I clarify if the some things are mostly the issues with the Truthwatcher, or...? I'm honestly struggling to figure which the game is more suited for and then to make adjustments so it properly fits the category. I'd gladly welcome advice in that regard :/ Given the issue with the Truthwatcher, I feel it seems a bit dishonest to run it as a full game (given if he snuffs it really fast, the game ends.) At the same time, this could also drag out more than a Quick Fix, given no one has immediate access to more than one kill ability at the beginning. If I were forced to pick, at the moment, I would say it'd go into the potentially-quicker end of a full game. Honestly, if Wilson is serious about a middle tier coming up eventually, I'd say this is potentially a middle-tier sort of game. I've built in a lot of brakes to slow down some usual strategies (e.g. informational lynch), while at the same time, the dynamics of Stormform means that the Eliminators get a lot of killing power towards endgame, so things go a lot faster towards that stage. And the presence of the Truthwatcher and the Willshaper means that the Eliminator team now has an incentive to encourage discussion as well, because they want to figure out who the Truthwatcher is.
  9. Also, I can't whistle. So that sinks it on my end In addition, if this award thing is a go, I'd like to nominate Aonar for the Most Ironic Death, or however we're now naming it. If there's a chap who deserves it, he does. Rengar can be nominated for Die Hard, or Can't Touch This (I think he doesn't meet the vote requirement but if I recall correctly, he survived three attempts on his life, which is pretty storming good.)
  10. I was the best storming tank ever. Totally not a role that the Voidbringer was intended to be. (For those of you who aren't getting the inside joke: Wyrm is referring to the fact I got killed three times in a night, and on the next night, the nobles tried to lynch me again, and the Merchant GB decided to stab me for good measure.) I'm not him, but if you're curious: he had to whistle in Morse code (to speak with the dead) and Aonar and King had to figure out what he was saying, basically. In addition, he had to post in limericks in the thread. Edit: Thanks, Cursor of Doom. I stand corrected. Maili, Tulir, I really appreciate that, but can you guys stop cursing me? I actually want to be able to play Game 6
  11. Isn't it obvious? A dance party. Which you missed. We broke out the disco balls by the time the first (and only) Sharder trekked in, ready to answer to Awes and myself.
  12. KING! DID YOU HEAR THAT? WE MADE IT! WE MADE IT! And I still maintain I'm disappointed that the WoD turned out to be a vanilla Awakened sword rather than a Panzerkampfwagen E-100. Sigh, ten broams...
  13. GM Almighty, GoT is a perfectly legit reason Also, at least for those of us coming off QF2, I don't think we'd protest at not immediately going into Game 6
  14. It was actually kind of hilarious because we (the people watching from the dead doc) believed--but weren't sure--that if you'd used your Ardent power to protect yourself again, Gamma's kill might not have gone through. The sacrifice seemed to be necessary to trigger the death of another player, although it would still have been pretty much endgame by that point, with the Shard outnumbering all of you. I'm not sure if Gamma had previously tried to sacrifice you. Gamma, could you confirm if it bounced off Feather's use of her Ardent ability but the kill still went through?
  15. I forgot to add this: props to Rengar and Rubix for that creative curse With some prodding from Wilson, King and I figured it just before the write-up came out and proceeded to feel...well, I was speechless, King was utterly amused. I bet the other darkeyes are feeling extremely betrayed at the moment Very quickly: all the curses have symmetry. In asking for Aonar to become a member of the darkeyes, Rengar's curse was that Aonar died (Ashiok's boon) and that he became a member of the 17s. (Effectively, player transfer.) Jaelre: That's Aonar and Wyrmhero, who spent a few hours in the dead doc figuring it out And I love that pun. I'm not so tactically inclined, but yes, I would think so. That's my read on the situation. I'm also kicking myself for not spending my Voidbringer PM on someone from a different faction, because the fact we all spent so much time RPing and faffing around rather than communicating really allowed 17s to sit back and let us cut each other's throats. (Mostly, with the exception of the WoD.) If you look in the dead docs, you'll see at one point, Wilson notes that you guys should've banded against the faction with the most staying power, i.e. the darkeyes. I'm not 100% convinced of that as I still feel the 17s was a bigger threat at that point in time. But one of the dead tweets almost put the point like this: storming communicate. [A slightly edited version of what the tweet almost said.] If the 17s can see what you're putting in your docs anyway, your only hopes at a majority and to kill them was really to work together, and publicly. Yes, the backstab roulette would've come eventually, but given that you were the Steward, you were one of the players in a unique position of leadership, to facilitate communication. If the Ardent had protected you from lynches, you were effectively immune to any killing ability the 17s could've mustered, as long as you guys had maintained vote supremacy. With Rengar's transfer...I'd say most of us didn't see that coming, and maybe that would've changed things. Just a few thoughts at any rate. I am open to correction.
  16. Great game to everyone, and thanks for creating and GMing it, Rubix. I really enjoyed the view from the dead doc Speaking of GMs, thanks also, Wilson. It was...interesting, in the dead doc, and I'd definitely say you didn't make it boring. Echoing King's question about the longest Google doc award. Invested minds wish to know
  17. Woohoo! We have our last player! Eh, it should be fine. It's not like most of us here have that many games under our belts either...
  18. I'd say surviving the conflict pretty much counts as victory at times. Hard to write history when you're dead.
  19. Well, I'm finally trying my hand at a game. I'm still stuck at some places, so I'd be much obliged for comments and help. I've done a bit of a tweak of the rules, so while this is still an elimination game at the core, I've drawn on some of Avalon: The Resistance in order to add what I think is a pretty fun mechanic to this game. I'm especially uncertain about whether (given the way I've set it up), it's better suited for a Quick Fix or an actual game. Roshar: The Eighth Desolation.
  20. This sort of came up in the dead doc (and the darkeyes doc) in the current ongoing Sanderson Elimination Quick Fix game a bit, as King and I discovered that we shared similar objectives that seemed far more important than killing off the other factions. Such as tea. In any case, I was curious: Any other tea-drinkers, enthusiastic or otherwise on this forum? What kinds of tea do you like to drink? How do you take your tea? And most of all and most pertinent: how many mugsworth of tea is sufficient?
  21. I understand, my Lord Chaos, and I thank you. Panda, it is my impression that they like bamboo better.
  22. If it is acceptable, my Lord Chaos, I request to be the Monk of Misrule.
  23. Just getting in a bit of RP before things start Kaim stared at the practice sword in his hand, and shook his head. A soldier's weapon, the sword. Half of the village's defenders had probably never even seen one. And why would they? He'd had a few lessons, nothing more, and those were in years long forgotten. Hard to bring in a man with a sword; they were good at making corpses, not so good at catching thieves. He tried again, and almost succeeded in taking his own head off with Heron Wading In The Rushes. He set the sword down. It wasn't for him. Drell's Crossing was supposed to be a quiet enough place. He'd chosen it when he'd gone to ground, after that last thief he'd brought in, and had never looked back ever since. A band of Trollocs this far from the Blight, rumours of False Dragons...he shook his head and wondered if Tarmon Gai'don had come at last.
  24. I think it could be pretty cool if we do it (as it was done in the dead doc) in the spirit of good fun/for the funny. Question is, if we go with that, will it be by voting and nominations--how are we handling that process? Other suggestions: Chronic Backstabbing Disorder (Player who broke the most alliances) The Master of Puppets/Silvertongue (...most manipulative/persuasive player, kudos to anyone who got the reference) Crouching Tiger (player who attracted the least attention/suspicion/threat during the game) Tactician (player who made the most strategic/cunning use of role/special actions during the game.)
  25. Understood. S'cool, I'm just one of those players whose attitude seems to be 'ASK THE GM ALL THE THINGS!' as I like to know specifically what the rules permit and don't permit players to do Thanks for the clarification, GM!
