Can't help that my Bro Reads (TM) are just that good. Ask Fifth how well that worked for him in QF64 :eyes:

Part of me believes a response this fast comes from a Village perspective. But I'm reminded that Orlok's Evil doctrine emphasises maximum bussing. So yeah, not giving Stick that easy clear.

Oh, right, I suppose I should put this out there before there's more speculation: I can neither confirm nor deny that there is arson.

I could tell you the roles, but then you can't play this game :eyes: Tbh probably not even then. All vetters have signed a strict NDA with their immoral souls as collateral. Running a tight ship here.

Yes and no. In all fairness I wouldn't have run this lightly especially given MR56 and the committee would not have okayed this if we didn't think it was going to be fun. Blackout and fliplessness will allow us to do Some Things you can't get away with when running a regular game. That being said, Fifth and I disavow all responsibility if you get C1ed for whatever reason Sorry man, sometimes it do be that way.

We'll allow it, especially if it's you If you have any issues with what they are doing, or feel it is disrespectful, or honestly if you are not comfortable with them doing it, tell us (drop Fifth, Elan, me a PM) or say it ahead of time, and we will ask players to avoid doing so.

I've noticed that some people have been asking about the no existing player rule. ( @StrikerEZ here as well for convenience.) Strictly speaking, we are regarding 'existing player' as any SE player in the database. Here's the problem: If you take the name of a player who is playing this game, people are going to be confused. So will your GMs. This is unhelpful. Please don't do that. We have had games where players signed up as a player not playing the game, but then proceeded to do stuff like RP them in a relationship with another player. Things can get out of hand and become deeply hurtful. We don't want to be spending our energy stopping fires after they start. Please don't create this situation to begin with. Don't use the usernames of other players. We are allowing variants of other players' usernames, e.g. we am cool with someone signing up as Stricker. However, in those cases, we request you be respectful in your RP. Think about how the other player would feel about your conduct, and behave accordingly. Good-natured parodies are fun. But if the other players aren't laughing, we will ask you find something else. Long story short, we're treating you all like mature adults. Please live up to this expectation. Thank you We have also had games like LG53 where signing up with variants of other players' usernames went fine. We are hoping this will be LG53 in that regard

I can neither confirm nor deny there is PM spying. I can also neither confirm nor deny that this game features the return of Slaughter, an anon kill mechanic that lets Wyrm take out players anytime, a Tiger tank, a cursed play, and the ghosts of Metacognition, Gamma, and Ren materialising to admonish players everytime they make a silly decision. I can also neither confirm nor deny that there will actually be a player told they are Kasimir or Fifth Scholar in this game. I can neither confirm nor deny the Loch Ness Monster exists in an eldritch dimension and is capable of converting players to a third party cult. ...This should cover everything, I think.

Speaking as honestly as I can without giving away game mechanics/tricks: I'm aware that's a possibility, but that being said, MR56 was a fun game, but also very frustrating for players during the blackout/flipless aspect of it. Ideally the main reason the GMs and the IMs have agreed to publicly and strongly discourage playing is we want to manage expectations, to avoid a second MR56, e.g. via mechanics players are not prepared for.

As I'm actually featuring in this game (notice I'm a potential Elim wincon), I'd strongly request you pick something else. Also not Fifth for this reason

Blackout means that there are rules you don't know about. Notice, for instance, that the rules posted say nothing about roles (if there are any; I can neither confirm nor deny that there are roles in this game at all.) By design, you are intended to uncover more about the rules and the game as you play. I will be extremely stingy about how much I respond to player questions at the start, but will be more forthcoming as players interact with different aspects of the game and find out things. Flipless means that all you know will be who got removed/eliminated. I will not tell you their role or alignment.

>>> LG92: Process of Elimination SE is a simple game. Well, if it’s an LG anyway. Twenty-plus players chase a bunch of red herrings for two weeks or so, and at the end, the Eliminators always win. All good fun. ‘Course, it becomes a lot less funny when SE players themselves are getting replaced, and not by pinch-hitters. Call them ‘Eliminators’, I guess. That’s close enough, yeah? Maybe they’re just bots. Maybe they’re some sort of eldritch drek. Hell if I know. SE is a simple game. But sometimes, the game plays you. >>> General Rules: >>> Win Conditions: >>> Quick Links: >>> Sign-ups are open now and will close on Friday, 27th January 2022, at 1100hrs SGT (GMT +8) / 10PM EST. Rollovers will take place at the same time. My co-GM is @Fifth Scholar, while the IM for the game is @Elandera. Players are reminded that this game is a blackout, flipless game. Whilst we have done our best to ensure a balanced and fun experience, it is possible you may also find the game intensely frustrating. Please seriously consider if you can handle such a game format before signing up, in order to avoid disappointment. Please also be reminded to desist from posting in the thread until we can reserve the next post. We will always do so in order to collect both the current player list and the most recent set of rule clarifications for easy access.

Oh, nice! I usually hear people swear by Waterman Serenity Blue - for me, it's Pilot Black.

Did, with a pen that was a gift Next year I have one last pen, thanks to this Grail, but then am more or less stopping unless something especially catches my eye. Also the added tax and inflation...

No thank you... I am almost considering that one possibility is doing it like QF6's espionage agent where they get black text from a random player in the IC doc, c/ped at rollover. You'd have to cleanse it in a separate GM doc first, but this way gives them more of a challenge and means they can't rely on timestamp info. I am not actually sure they shouldn't be able to rely on timestamp info, FWIW - but just thinking aloud. I think the fundamental problem just is that if you are the Village wincon, then this powerfully skews your incentives towards "not posting substantively in the doc even if it is a confirmed Village space."

Yeah, Elim numbers were fine - Elim skew issue is because at these IC numbers and the fundamental IC dynamic is one where if they try to say things, they're easier to find... Honestly this is one case I'd probably run simulations for volatility, ID my ideal number of cycles to victory for the Village and Elims and see where it goes. I was very, very terrified that our IC would just die to the filter.

Four based off square-root rule, four based off 1/4 rule yeah, reasonable at these numbers, but the fact that most of us (I agree) thought this game was Elim skewed because of the IC problem definitely contributed to low-balling. As, I think, did the desire to just end the suffering.
