Maybe he can race Martin's Winds of Winter. Should be easy for a shardpen holding windwriterunner.

Dalinar, the pious man or a discussion on attributes

Lol, trust those Gauls to twist their Latin. -
Now that's a teacher worth having. Not many of those teaching literature and stuff read Fantasy (it's more common among the natural science people as I see on my commute to the North Campus).

With those spam bots popping up when the US mods not online, it may be a good idea to appoint another mod from the European timezones to deal with problems. I would volunteer but I'm only online during this time on weekends, Monday to Thursday I have to earn a living. But maybe there's someone who could check in during the midday/afternoon hours in Europe (MEZ) which seems to be the time not covered by mods right now.

But fun.

Storm it, they're back again in another incarnation. We need a more thorough exorcism. How would you blow annoying things out of the Cosmere?

Agreed (and upvoted) to what Kaellok said. Google is not God, nor is Wikipedia or any other website that provides definitions for words. I've seen to many mistakes there myself. -
Turning protagonists into antagonists for fun
Gabriele replied to kari-no-sugata's topic in Stormlight Archive
You certainly pass Torturing Characters 101 with a double A. And there I thought I was mean to mine. The scary thing about this one is that it could come to something along those lines. Odium surely isn't going to sit idly by when the fate of Roshar is decided. -

Love that, Feather. -
Tell me. I can read Dostoyevsky and Erikson's Malazan monster without once looking at the character sheet, but I got confused about that whole Eglaiweneda high school cabal of Aes Sedai all the time. Eventually gave up on the series at book 3 or 4, don't even remember. Also, I lost respect for the male characters taking crap from that silly Nynsomething women - she's just an immature girl no matter she's Wisdom (she certail has none).
-
Lol, I can't remember how often I told myself not to start another ongoing series before it's finished. I got 14 of those by now.

The problem is that those bods care a flying storm for downvotes. We need Nightblood here. EDITED damnation, the monster found a way to reincarnate and is now haunting the Introduction forum. Quick, get the garlic and silver bullet.

There's a whole army of them in General Sanderson. Love voodoo and stuff.

Well done indeed. Is that a school essay? In that case I'd have some minor suggestions to make it more easy for those who've (had to ) read Julius Caesar but not Sanderson. Explain who Sylphrenia is the first time she's mentioned in the essay. You could also mention that Elhokar is Dalinar's nephew. Love the comparison of Caesar's ghost and Syl. There's a quotation mark missing after 'first we met' on page 6, paragraph 1.

When you refer to the current German weather as Weeping. -
Lol, no. Iron and Rust is historical fiction about Maximinus Thrax, first of the so-called soldier emperors, and the Mistwraith books are really called something about Light and Shadow, an ongoing series that's supposed to be 12 books or so (with 9 books out); Curse of the Mistwraith is the first of the series. Though it would be fun to imagine how Roman history would have gone with some people being able to do metal magic.

We got a time of Weeping right now.

Possible Future Developments for Renarin/Adolin
Gabriele replied to LuzdeTormenta's topic in Stormlight Archive
Maybe Adolin wasn't so very unhappy about Kaladin joining the convo. He usually spent time with his dates in the company of others - maybe also because this would preserve the girls' renown - and he has to feel his way around dealing with Shallan and being alone with her. He was back on a more comfortable level with another person around. -

Nah, if anyone is going to save Adolin, it is Kaladin. And then -
You should be a Feathersquire.

He's looking for a suitable wife instead of just falling in love with a girl. So he has some sort of checklist starting with 'pretty' because he needs to start somewhere and he's a young man, after all but then doesn't really know how to proceed. His heart hasn't been involved in any of those dates. The solution would, imho, be either an arranged marriage in the mode of his society, or him finally falling in love when he doesn't look. So he could perhaps make the marriage with Shallan work because she would indeed be a good partner/wife only to find Shallan has other ideas, or he's going to fall in love with some totally unsuitable girl. Authors are evil creatures.

That made me laugh. They are cute together.
