  1. I'm actually curious as to how one could use Ruin's Investiture despite not being on the same Shardworld. And I do wonder - has anyone ever accidentally spiked another outside of Scadrial?
  2. Doubtful. Not impossible, but I don't think someone with that big a role would be a worldhopper without us knowing it. Also, the kandra seem to prefer being more invisible than that. Sebarial may be rather unimportant for a highprince - but he is still one. And that makes him fairly important in Alethkar. Too much at risk.
  3. Depends, I suppose. I presume scholarform would offset the decrease in intelligence, while warform would augment its strength; mateform... I'd rather not go there. But with ordinary spren, it seems, and the Surges are apparently limited too. I'd presume that an honorspren, or Cryptic, or highspren could give you two Surges if you spiked them and then used it on another, although it wouldn't be as potent as a Knight Radiant's Surges. And I suspect it would consume more Stormlight due to the nature of the bond.
  4. I don't think it'd be the exact same as giving a listener a form through spren, to be honest. It probably wouldn't change their urges (like say, mateform), and instead only provide sentience and power. So I might be able to give a listener the ability to Steelpush, but at the same time they could still shift forms. Imagine one with some Hemalurgic spikes for Allomantic pewter and warform - it would be nigh unstoppable. Or scholarform and Feruchemical zinc. Stormform and Feruchemical steel. No more lightning inaccuracy, just walk up and touch someone before unleashing Force lightning raw lightning! As for Selish magic, perhaps Dakhor bone-molding combined with listener warform? Storming hell you'd be hard to injure, let alone kill without a Shardblade. Better yet. What if you used a spike on a spren and stole its Investiture? Could you then use it as a Nahel bond of sorts?
  5. I always thought of those as being Midnight Essences. Stormform Parshquisitor.
  6. #NeverForget So THAT'S why Syl is such a lecherous spren! And Pattern! Ahem.
  7. What are you, the Steamfather?
  8. Even Honor needs smutty fic.
  9. That would be an excellent idea, tbh. Theoryland's too cluttered and it's pretty hard to keep track of WoBs. Perhaps we should start a specialized page or smth for all the existing WoBs, add categories (like Nalthis, Roshar, Scadrial...)
  10. It is though: http://www.theoryland.com/intvmain.php?i=706#9 Unless you're talking about another database.
  11. I think it's a pretty old one. Aren't you compiling the recent ones?
  12. No, Brettin's kandra was TenSoon. There's a WoB for it.
  13. RELUCTANT TONE: THOSE WORDS ARE... ACCEPTED. BUT YOU MUST DIVEST YOURSELF OF THAT... MONSTROSITY YOU CARRY. YOU WILL BE A SHIPPER WITH NO SHARDS.
  14. I swear, everyone's mother and their chull is a candidate for being spiked nowadays but this one makes sense
  15. I am convinced we should gather all the participants of that thread and form our very own Bridge Four. I'll volunteer for the Sigzil role.
  16. Blasphemy! Mask the Shadowlord is the only true god!
  17. Well, we all listed our questions there, so we'll see what happens.
  18. I think you can submit your questions here. That's what I did, anyway: http://www.17thshard.com/forum/topic/7454-google-hangout-w-brian-mcclellan-brandon-sanderson/?view=findpost&p=128948
  19. I do, Gamma. 1. Can you pinpoint when the kandra worldhopper started... well, worldhopping? Was it before Sazed took up both Shards, or after? 2. What is the kandra worldhopper you mentioned recently trying to do? Is he/she gathering information for Harmony, and is that how he knows of some of the events going on in Roshar? 3. Is there only one kandra worldhopper, or several? 4. Can Splinters be created artificially, instead of by a Shard? 5. Are the Honorblades consuming Investiture because they are inefficient compared to a Nahel bond, or is it because the Investiture is being used for something else? 6. Is Nalan'Elin based on Bao Zheng from Chinese history? If so, are all the Heralds based on historical figures?
  20. I believe it's that Google Hangout thingy. And no, asking if Iyatil is the kandra would def be a RAFO. However, we can ask what this kandra is attempting to do. Perhaps have Brandon pinpoint a specific world or timeline (before HoA/after HoA). Is said kandra working alone, or are there other kandra (I hope not, it'll be a pain to find!)?
  21. 1. The First Contract is likely null and valid by now, and an assassin is something Harmony would not be adverse to; he did spend time with two rather renowned ones (and called them friends) before his ascension (not including Elend because he was more the warrior type). 2. We don't know enough to say anything of kandra allegiances. I suggest asking Brandon for more information on this. 3. Fair point, we could just be reading too much into it. But right now Iyatil is a very strong candidate for kandrahood, imo. That would be bloody epic, but I'm not sure it'd fit. Stinks too much of deus ex machina. I'd like for a new character to channel the Vin role; something like this: "He strode out into the mists, the screams of a dying world reverberating around him, the scion of hatred facing him, and in that moment X* swore he/she seemed almost otherworldly; gone was the man he/she knew, and in his place was a force of nature, like the old texts claimed Vin Venture was. Harmony was dead. Hoid was bound by laws he/she did not profess to understand. For good or ill, he was the only chance they had. The fate of Scadrial - no, of the entire cosmere itself - hinged upon this one, final encounter. Without warning, a torrent of power burst from him, and with a battle cry he launched himself against his foe, as the world broke about them." *Insert whatever name and gender you prefer
