Yes, Koschei the Deathless crossed the Moral Event Horizon on his very first appearance. Lightwards is essentially Dr. Doofenshmirtz by comparison.

The subtle change to the main page niggled at me way more than it should have. But never mind my OCD, this is great! Overall. The main page still looks weird to me now.

I know this is necroing in the worst possible way, but I just wanted to observe something. I think it's hilarious that this proposal leapt straight into a discussion of turning the RP into a grimdark eldritch nightmare featuring Cthulhu of all things, while the gritty Steelheart RP up the board from here has been steadily converting each of its main characters into ponies and discussing the power of friendship. Apparently the line between My Little Pony and apocalyptic fiction is thinner than anyone could have believed.

Considering you also have the refreshingly human Edgerunner, I'd feel comfortable rating you with 2.5 at the highest. They aren't particularly likely to get married any way, especially since they'd never get through a wedding ceremony. Lightwards would kill and zombify the pastor for having the sheer audacity to say "You may kiss the bride."

Great. Now I'll have another song stuck in my head. And nightmares. (That was... terrifyingly awesome. )

Maybe I should have saved this for Valentine's Day.

Really? I don't feel any different. Oh well. Time to go kill off Sam and Revolution...

She can definitely affect Epics. Though I just had an idea--assuming I can get her, she could make a good ally for Nighthound in Astoria. If Nighthound's main plot will revolve around his trying to escape the city, it could seriously help to have a moderately powerful Epic helping him from the outside. Especially a moderately powerful Epic with an interest in destabilizing Lucentia's regime.

I wonder if Jingleberry will knock the rating higher or lower. (Hint: probably higher, if I get to put my spin on her.) Cool! I'll make sure I get a Backtrack post up soon, then.

Adventures in Edassa Information Thread (RP Ongoing!)
Kobold King replied to Seonid's topic in Inactive RPs
Forgive me if you've answered this somewhere I missed, but here's another question. What kind of natural fauna and flora can be found on Edassa? Terran inhabitants like wolves, pigs, and oak trees, or wildly different and possibly magical creatures like you'd find on Roshar?- 314 replies

I'll rate you a 2. You're a wonderfully nice person, but you enjoy terrorizing The Dalles with Koschei far too much for a pure "1" rating. If it helps, I'm probably at least a 4 by now.

Afterwards he can go on a temporal journey, eliminating all those who will one day make life miserable for others. "Hello, is this Professor Cardinal's class?" "Why yes, in fact the professor's right over there--" * BANG * "Hello, is this where Milton Towren lives?" "Yes, in fact he's just studying in the other room--" * BANG * "Hello, is this the Jäger residence?" "Yes, in fact I'm Michael Jäger and this is my sister Jeanie--" * BANG. BANG. BANG. BANG. *

Like Day of the Doctor, but with 20% more Remington. And 100% more gun violence. I don't doubt it.

Well, yes, but there's more to it. I was reading about mistletoe in biology, and I realized two things: mistletoe is poisonous, and it is parasitic to other plants. That led to me envisioning Jingleberry as a sort of human mistletoe, capable of poisoning people at a touch and healing herself by absorbing the life force from plants in her immediate vicinity. That would make her more dangerous at close range, as well as making her harder to kill.

Considering Nighthound is already the kind of guy who might randomly kiss someone if he thought he could get away with it... And message for Voidus: assuming you haven't given her away to anyone else, or have any plans for her yourself, I'd like to officially adopt Jingleberry. I think I have some ideas for her character, as well as a minor expansion of her powers.
-
Maybe Jingleberry could make her way to the city? She wouldn't be a particularly powerful addition to the Astorian political scene, but she could definitely wreak some small degree of havoc. If Portland is completely destroyed, then Lightwards may try to find a new town or city to regroup and prepare a new attempt at empire-forging in. How would Lucentia feel about him accompanying her to Astoria after the CM war?

Thanks for the offer, but I think I'll pass. I've looked at the Sanderson Elimination games, and they seem a lot more... well, like actual games. I like "What Happened in Oregon" since it's essentially a collaborative fanfiction, while SE looks more like an in-depth puzzle game. Maybe I've got the wrong idea of them, but that's the overall impression I get. I'd definitely be interested, but I don't have any ideas for Astorian characters at the moment. When we do move action there, maybe Lucentia could return to find her city has been seized by a rival Epic? That could make an interesting start for a thread.

Currently writing up a Portland post to get my characters up to date for the time skip. Sam's flashback has been pushed back a little since so much else is going on. It should be seen once she returns to Tillamook after the Altermind meeting. General question, do Lightwards' and Backtrack's POVs have noticeably different tones? I try to keep Lightwards' scenes written in a more crisp, methodical style, while with Backtrack I strive for a rambling stream-of-consciousness style with loads of figurative speech. Does that come through at all?

I like him too! Just one question, is strength the only attribute he's able to sap? There have been so many ideas bandied about I have a hard time keeping up. Also I lied about the whole "just one question thing." Are you planning on bringing him into the RP?

The post is fine. ... Oh who am I kidding, that post is awesome. I just read it for the fourth time, and am still regretting my Quota-cursed inability to upvote it. The post beautifully illustrates both Remington's internal hardness and his compassion. Just all-around awesome.
-
I know. There's no telling what nasty things Chicago Joe might say to her. There's actually a fairly solid chance of Remington knowing about Chicago Joe. I imagine that Chicago Joe's the kind of roaming Epic who leaves an impression in people's minds; his statue turns up in all manner of unexpected places, and is known for randomly coming to life and shouting insults at people. It actually would not surprise me one bit if Remington had shot at him before.
-
Plz, I don't think Brandon Sanderson's ever said anything that would make you think that. Yes, that seems about right.
-
Next you'll be posting your wild Steelheart-Firefight crossover theories again. You can definitely do that. If you need me to contribute in any way, just let me know and I'll get something written up. I hate to be the one clogging up progress.
-
Eh, only because a mysterious red star granted her superpowers at the cost of corrupting her personality. Other than that, there isn't much similarity. Frankly I think you're looking too hard for connections.
-
Eh, sorry mail-mi but I'm just not seeing the resemblance. Perhaps you should be more specific? I actually really want to see an Awakener-like Epic.
